gegründet in frankfurt/main 2007 von michael lasch und jan wilk (huen) konzentriert sich das label hauptbahnhof-musik auf die ausarbeitung von funktionalem doch gleichzeitig vorwärtsgedachtem techno für den club. der rote faden bleibt der sub-bass. nachdem sich die crew hauptbahnhof-musik nun auf 5 produzenten bzw. 6 djs und liveacts vergrößert hat und sich durch partys in frankfurt und berlin einen speziellen ruf geschaffen hat, folgt nun die erste veröffentlichung auf vinyl - produziert von michael lasch & huen, inklusive remixen von octave, monocraft und brian burger.

>let it flow< is the debut single from danny wheelers debut album >universal language<. hailing from the west london scene, >universal language< is his first artist album, danny wheeler is a passionate artist, his debut release >ghost< put him & co-producer sub focus into the top 5 of the uk dance charts. his label w10 also signed the brookes brothers, who released their first records on his w10 imprint.

the >spectrum riff< ep comes from moscow based beat maker and full time firefighter alexander goryachev, otherwise known as 813. five original tracks bursting with juicy synth lines, retro drum machines and waves of thick sub bass, culminating in a sound that is one part boogie, one part hip hop, one part electro and three parts forward thinking bass music. slugabed (ninja tune) appears on remix duty with a drum heavy workout full of shuffling percussion, deep basslines and strong melodies. 813 has been operating in the much talked about russian beat scene for a couple of years, appearing on error broadcasts >fly russia< compilation and kicking off the rad collective label with the >back in space jungle< ep. he has another ep on rad dropping this year along with other projects and collaborations in the pipeline. as a live act he has supported moby, doom and hudson mohawke. the spectrum riff ep has been a long time in the making, its been worth the wait.

rounding off what has been a busy year for idle hands comes a 12 inch from west country residents outboxx. this duo, comprised of jacob martin (aka hodge) and matthew lambert have steadily built a reputation for themselves with releases on well rounded and immerse. moving away from the dominant trends in bass music the pair have been forging a sound more akin to early nineties deep house - yet retaining a palette of 2011 sounds. here they present two tracks - >aporia< is a lesson in wistful house, all pianos and a sneeky bass drop half way through the tune. >cromwell< is a straight ahead house roller, but with enough sub to keep the bass enthusiasts happy. support so far from ramadanman and sven weiseman.

local talk is proud to present the first release on their sub-label 1nce again. this is where we bring back classic and forgotten house gems from back in the day with new mixes and reworks. for our first release we have gone back to 97 and a producer known and respected worldwide in the house music community with more than 200 production credits under his belt. joshua michaels aka joshua iz perhaps best known for his collabs with dwayne washington as iz & diz but has of course used many other pseudonyms over the years for releases on labels like prescription, balance, classic, junior boys own, om and guidance. the return was first released on heard, sub-label to tom middletons evolution / universal language productions ltd. using his moniker circulation. the track can easily be described as a mammoth house track, clocking in just over 12 minutes. its one of those pieces of music that’s stood the test of time and why iz has been a major force in electronic music for so many years. on the flip much hyped duo prommer & barck stripped it down from its original costume leaving not much left of the source material resulting in something that we best could describe as old school warehouse meets uk bass. its pretty raw and definitely a basement sureshot!

the original horsemen concept was initially conceived by 4 minds coming together through one unifying vision. those minds were of: ink, loxy, keaton and dylan. carving out their own unique take on drum & bass. fusing together specific elements that would form the fundamental cornerstones of the horsemen sound: raw original sampled breaks, heavy sub bass and dub elements. this style and concept has since seeped into the consciousness of a new wave of producers across the globe and has influenced and evolved into the sonics presented here on this album. ink and loxy in conjunction with renegade hardware are proud to present: horsementality...

as 2011 unfolds, ld very much retains his own sound drawing from his roots: drum pan sounds of jamaica resonating throughout, flashes of soca drums, subtle tribal nuances, and the ghost of jungle reverberating in the warm, pulsating sub bass. it seems now is very much the time for ld to make the transition from behind the scenes and into the limelight.

phuture shock musik present their 5th release, this time procuring the reliable talent of one of the most slept on producers in the world of bass music - that is simon/off. those in the know will be aware that the austrian native has been simmering in the underground for quite some time now, having laid the groundwork through early releases on haunted audio, a noteworthy ep for immerse records, and further contributions to several other smaller labels. this latest plate by the name of >planetary communication< ep finds simon/off leaning more towards his techno and broken beat side, which has of late began to flourish in his recent productions, and consists of three well crafted afro-tech riddims oozing weighty low-end frequencies, funky drum work and finely detailed percussion. widespread support on sub fm, and increasing support from several other major players in the underground bass scene.
