shlomo opens the ep with a deep and droning, yet uptempo track. ben gibson continues on the a-side with a synth and tom-driven track, in which the main synth really draws you into the track. takaaki itoh is put on the b1 spot and continues the deep vibe the artists set on the a-side, yet in a more minimalistic way. his track keeps on evolving and growing ever more, while the track in it s core does not change that much. overall severity closes the ep off with a moody banger. this dance floor oriented track focuses on percussive elements and the drums a lot. this track is one of the last ones made by the late max_m, who formed overall severity together with wrong asessment, which makes this ep a little bit more special. four different artists, but a great sounding ep with four tracks that compliment each other really well!

rising label 04 is coming with a very complete ness ep which includes a ben gibson remix. >chronoscope< is the intro track that opens the release, a beautiful landscapes piece where ness shows his love and dexterity for the ambient music. following, >pantropy< is already starting with a heavy kick, far voices layered between the percussions and a sweet melody developing and coming up with that >trancey< touch that ness is able to do. on the b side comes >uchronia<, the track from where the release take the name, a strong broken track with shaped and dynamic percussions where some >chronoscope< landscapes are used flowing as the track goes on. to close the ep ben gibson delivers a classy >uchronia< remix going simple but effective, a perfect balance between gibson style and ness track that totally works out on the floor and makes the prefect closing track for that release.

informa experiments volume 2 continues with the same concept as the last, 4 artists submit a bank of sounds and from these sounds each artist composes a track. a simple idea that proves very effective. this time the contributors are claudio prc (prologue), takaaki itoh (wols), ben gibson (chronicle) & deepbass (informa) each version has come out very different but all have a beautifully analogous feel. deep, pulsing hypnotic techno. the release will be available on 12 inch only.

lcseries comes back with the fourth reference, dark and bright, ascent. the a-side is covered at night. the darker side, the most ravenous, the more forceful, the wildest. starring oscar mulero remix of the original track ascent. oscars personal style makes to be all part of the sound composed through the original topic. in turn, liss c. remind us, that their tracks are by and for the club.

we who like to think of ourselves as disruptors felt that the time has come for a shift. a new path for chronicle emerges, carved out with a new series of 7 inch records limited to only 250 copies. our inaugural release, entitled words for silence, will be unleashed at our debut chronicle showcase on march 29th at berghain. as our way of giving thanks to our supporters the first 10 copies will be passed out in secrecy to attendants looming in the shaded corners of the club. words for silence features two driving tracks from aiken and the illusive ben gibson – two producers that have both crafted powerful eps for us and will be gracing the decks that evening along with nick dunton (65 d mavericks), boris, oliver deutschmann and mike dehnert among others. we could not be more honored to host this night, and look forward to unveiling more releases of this caliber for other special events/turning points. so watch out below… aikens *singularity* has a groove that beeps like a time bomb waiting to explode, washing over you with its sinful drones - while gibsons track *parallax* takes things a bit deeper with pastoral pads and fluttering hi-hats. together they create a balance of rhythm and energy that will be well suited for a number of unique moments while in the chamber.

more than six years into his career after several eps and a full album, there isn’t much known about ben gibson, and he is clearly keeping it that way with intent. gibson first emerged on jeff mills’ experimental, influential 6277 sublabel but then again vanished into the ether, he only reappeared three years later on perc trax, even more surprisingly with a full-length. since then, he’s gone on to steadily more notice with perc’s imprint, sect records, and most recently m_rec ltd in spite of the continuing lack of information. exposure isn’t the most important thing for us at chronicle though, and after hearing these five tracks, we saw exactly what it is that drew mills to him from the beginning. it is a sound that we find a perfect fit for the techno futurism of our chronicle series, and here we offer a platform for gibsons more sci-fi, ethereal sounding material, exclusively on vinyl for the fifth edition of our sublabel.

having swiftly carved a niche for himself amongst the likes of perc, ben gibson returns to sect to deliver more of his brooding and engaging techno. there is a great emphasis on sound design and atmospherics in the two tracks on quien es?, as ominous clangs and tense tones hang heavy over rugged drum workouts. >ceased to gasp< is the more industrial of the two, but still allows for a melodic slant in the cavernous echoes that define the track. >remain< adopt a swirling, psychedelic approach to sonic decoration that draws you in just as it continues flooring you, like all good techno should. highly recommended.

ben gibson arrived on the techno scene in 2006 with the release of the techno-futurist track no signify on jeff mills axis sub-label 6277. the same year he relocated to tokyo all the way from his adopted home new zealand. elaborate, poly-rhythmic and often densely textured, the music he produced during this period contrasted heavily with a lot of the minimal techno popular at the time.

perc trax returns with its 30th vinyl release with a split ep showcasing the works of both its newest and most established acts.
first up is ben gibson with 2 tracks that feature on his forthcoming perc trax album >in a realized luck of immanence<. both tracks instantly demonstrate what made jeff mills sign ben to his axis offshoot 6277. bens sound is a dense, atmospheric take on the now-classic uk techno sound of surgeon, regis, ruskin etc and both the rolling bass of >vanished between< and the sharp stabs of >wirklichkeit< prove that he is an artist to watch out for.
on the b-side label boss perc hooks up with the labels canadian connection metalogic to deliver 2 tracks that flit between broken beat and 4/4 rhythms with ease. both tracks feature an attention to detail that both perc and metalogic are known for with endless dubbed out synths and effects keeping the tracks interesting but never getting in the way of the crisp beats. these tracks have already been road tested around the world by perc in recent months and will be a key part of a launch party for this ep in toronto in october.

first lcr wax is coming out at the beginning of march, after 4 years on digital world, lcr come on the wax with his first release. on the release we will find a unam zetineb already on lcr family, and he has released on really good labels last past years.
unam sign 2 original tracks, focused on smash the dancefloor, with plenty groove. on the remixes sides we find to liss c., manager owner of lcr that comes on the first wax, doing a really good remix. ben gibson another talented producer for many many years comes on board also with an amazing remix.
