wtm038 is definitely an outstanding release, something between house and real love to technoid sounds. the long a side comes with a classical intro and turns into a p erfect groovy but still monumental house track. the b starts with the track * call me a cap* and is the third collaboration with dop . great melodic atmospheric sounds with a perfect arrangement between vocals and all the typical addicted masomenos style. the second one on the b side has a featuring with tobi neumann who releases also his third ep with the french duo. * pushpush* is more trippy with a great step sequencer arrangement. all together, great release again from masomenos and this will be a special one which you surely wont forget

leave your preconceptions behind because ital tek’s brilliant new album ‘hollowed‘ is his best and most rewarding yet. created from new beginnings, it’s a journey through the naïve exploratory methods with which alan myson started to make music over a decade ago. the record is dark and maximalist but at the same time the huge sounds are minutely detailed and elegantly rendered.

traditional folk music from belgium, performed by swedish youngsters, met by art music with inspiration from the dj-culture. during the fall of 2015, guf (gävleborgs ungdoms folkband) released an album called guf4life where one of its songs got the dj & composer slim vic to react. the rain drenched sounds in the original composition worked as the fundament for two different musical journeys, signed by slim vic. part 1, is a varying composition that take the listener in and out of club music, ambient and the original tracks folk music. part 2, is a very dystopic world of sounds clearly on the border of art music.

delsin records welcomes back dennis van gemert aka area forty_one for a second ep on the label. it is a second part to the nocturnal passions series started back in 2013, and come five years after his first ever release, which was on ann aimee in 2011, once again fusing ambient with techno, downtempo and electro. nocturnal passions part 2 is seven minutes of slithering electro funk. full of twinkling keys and spaced out chords, it has rugged bass and bumpy drums all making you want to move. voyage is then a raw, beat driven yet still brilliantly serene affair with angelic chords, consolation is a comforting, mid tempo tumble through the galaxy with soft focus, rippling melodies and gentle churning kicks and orbiting is a suspensory, fully ambient track that sounds like a slow journey up to heaven. this is teary eyed, emotive stuff that comes from another world entirely.

one of the most charismatic and respected djs in poland, eltron (aka eltron john) presents what is probably the most expressely club-oriented record in transatlantyk history. his four track offering sounds much like his sets - ferocious and subtle, raw and sophisticated at the same time. the main mix of b&s blends druggy deepness inspired by the vibe of 90s tribal america with uk funky riddims, creating the sort of pneumatic house groove that never fails to get the party rocking. this simple, yet meticulously produced tune has already been road-tested and received enthusiastic feedback from a number of jocks around europe, and the vinyl version seems destined to strengthen its deserved banger-with-a-message status. the dub version of fuses layers of darker, industrial bleeps with a classic break and a rather healthy dose of echo. trippy and rough, yet exhilarating - it is exactly the kind of track you want to hear in a dark warehouse. switch to the b-side for the light , where sampled vocals, pitched-down drums and fuzzy pads are combined to form a unique specimen of lo-fi r n b, eltron-style. this hazy groove is guaranteed to guide dancers ever-so-gently into the light of the morning. finally, reprise exposes the bare bones of the original. with its dubby, in-your-face quality, it is one for the track heads, definitely.

roman poncet returns to figure with another batch of deadly efficient tools featuring four productions in his stripped-back signature style. opener vicious sets the stage with a snappy and muscular breakbeat holding the rhythm down tightly until creeping synths reveal the track’s true, eery intentions. marguerite is more welcoming, with gentle percussion and dubbed out chords making for a loop that could go on forever. the b-side is another example of skillfully sculpting sounds both lean and powerful. on atome i ricocheting synth echoes and fine layers of percussion sway back and forth until they collapse into an extended atmospheric breakdown. starting out reduced to its very nucleus, the second version slowly lets an electrifying tension fill the blank spaces. comprising a set of bare-bone grooves as slick as they are powerfully moving, roman poncet delivers another ep in true figure fashion that is sure to stay in the bag for a long time.

israeli-born berlin based producer and dj omer debuts his first release on cocktail d amore with two offerings of celestial house. the title cut blends the sounds of the east with an immediately seductive atmosphere of bright melodies leaving the listener plenty of room to be transfixed through it s entirety. -dust- dives deeper to reveal a more melancholic mood built on a symphony of lush pads and swirling metallic percussion. on remix duties are the wonderfully quirky estonian duo ajukaja & andrevski who deliver an oddball re-imagining which sends the original into outer space as it gently builds to sparkling fervor only heard on the outskirts of galaxies. rounding out the release is man power with an acid tinged burner which explodes into en excitement of live percussion and pads leaving any dance floor in complete ecstasy.

in 1972 francois de roubaix and bernard maitre composed together the music of a tv series for children presented by puppets, called the onix. the musical oddity here released by weme records is a part of this ost. this piece of music demonstrates once again that francois de roubaix was in touch with all kinds of music of his time, including contemporary music. in this experimental track we can feel the influences of the composer pierre henry, an other explorer of unknown sounds. on the b side jodey kendrick makes his own interpretation of this music with current tech and sounds while keeping the atmosphere and fantasy of the original sound. attention non music !

curitiba-based aia records returns with it s second release. lucas and marcelo also known as doneck, started to join forces back in early-2013. musically influenced by international recognised artists such as san soda, andre&#769,,s and move d, the duo also found significance in the sounds of aia s own label heads aninha & antonela antonela giampietro. therefore, creating a mixture of three soulful, deep but endlessly sounding tracks seems very convincing and credible to the overall ethos of the imprint. with assaz the duo delivers a deep but soulful house number, whereas ocluso is deep house at it s best, with a light atmospheric vibe and the echoing vocal. last but not least, te&#770,,nue creates this feeling of weightlessness and ease with warm natural added sounds and it s groovy bassline.

evod music returns with his 2nd vinyl release, with an innovative collaboration between evod and oisel, that generated an unique sound, based on hard grooves, and accurate consideration of sounds details. the fusion of artists ideas turns out to be a rare combination of sonorities, that express themselves in different forms in each track, but always render the sensations of artists and their personal vision. long reverbs, amped grooves, sharp sounds and ambient noises are the bases on which evod and oisel realized this ep.

mark e last delivered on futureboogie back in november 2014, so it’s a welcome return to the label for the birmingham based dj & producer. with his merc imprint running on full steam, and previous releases on revered labels like spectral sound and running back, mark is becoming an ever dependent exponent of the real and raw house music vibe, and no more so than on the basement trax ep. basement trax 1, distorted synths wander over a low-slung beat, the marching hi-hats and filter work are tweaked to perfection. it’s a track of basic elements, but done so well, the arrangement building steadily and bags of warmth and soul deep at the heart of this track. the gnarly bass and classic string sounds of basement trax 2 make an ideal companion piece to the a side. delivered in the finest wild-pitch tradition, the raw sounding production packs a punch as the stomping drums and repetitive keys ramp up the heat for a real blazer of an underground club cut.
