TRIANGLE DES BERMUDAS (MASSIMILIANO PAGLIARA REMIX)
12" Vinyl UK19.10.17
jules etienne has been skirting around labels such as apersonal music for a few years, but here makes a strong statement with a new record for cocktail d amore. triangle des bermudas is a swinging yet cosmically inclined jam powered by warm synth arpeggios, which regular collaborator massimiliano pagliara then nudges up into crafty deep house territory. cuban omlette is a delicate affair that interweaves pattering percussion and nagging synth lines to make a particularly heady brew before johns job finishes the record off with a richly layered drum track that should have djs across the board getting tricky in the mix.

undersound recordings is back with its second release, this time with an ep from berlin based producer etienne. all tracks are characterized by an analogue, simplistic, yet intriguing touch of the artist. dez is a straight 4/4 hypnotic groove, with an articulated bass line taking centre stage shortly after the beginning of the track. dez remix is a seminal track composed by tc80, warm sounds from the start, experimental yet dynamic percussions, perfectly complementing the original track r3mote is the most uplifting track of the release, floor killer, characterised by broken beats and a playful ever evolving melody sensed is deep, electro-infused, introspective. the track is a crescendo of trippy sounds, a vortex marked by retro elements, hypnotic but ever engaging.
eklo 033 is back with the labelhead seuil, after his famous “al capote” eklo 031. some new deep & cosmic tracks, “charlie from space” shows another side of seuil s works. the french berlin based producer etienne is featuring a fast & subtle remix, perfect for the floor. essential 12 inch
jaumet is back, but not alone: he asked 3 artists to revise music from his latest album la visite. on the a-side, we have a brand new band from düsseldorf, called die wilde jagd. we know those boys from their previous band der räuber und der prinz, released on desolat, which is a favorite from everyone at versatile. they deliver a surprising mix of la visite, in pure kraut fashion. neu is not that far... on the flip-side, the frenchman low jack turns la visite into a dub marshland, multilayered as is typical for low jack s music. and finally, gilb r delivers his own ambient version of one of the highlights of jaumet s album, midnight man, a tribute to i:cube who used to come to the studio at night.
a lot of water has passed under the bridge since the release of etienne jaumet’s night music, dating from october 2009. his hypnotizing music and enchanting live performances put him directly on the map. it’s just him who is in control of his ship. he moves without complexes from his saxophone to his drum machine (his beloved tr 808) while turning knobs modulating synths, and sending his voice through an echo.la visite, etienne’s brand new album, more luminous and jazzy than its predecessor, has been composed and produced within a two month period in the versatile studio. it became a piece of introspection, mentally as well as physically. in the title track, for which flop wrote the text, we hear etienne travelling through the inside of a body, fantastic voyage style.it is always surprising to see a record taking shape. etienne would arrive at the studio without any precise idea in head, approaching his work rather intuitively. he works standing up, which brings a very different energy than being seated behind a computer polishing up every detail. he is in total mastery of his set-up, ready to capture that short-lived moment of true creation. the only use a computer has for him, is to record his experiments - afterwards being mixed by jerome caron (blackjoy).in between night music and la visite, etienne has not been lazy. not only has he done numerous collaborations (amongst others with joakim, richard pinhas, francois & the atlas mountain) and picked up djing, he has also recorded a new zombie zombie album (rituels d’un nouveau monde) with cosmic neman, as well as the soundtrack loubia hamra. and he worked with artist felicie d estienne d orves on the installation satori. at this very moment, etienne and his saxophone are still part of the tour of james holden.
when sonar kollektiv is presenting musical diggings you can be assured some real gems show up. and what a revelation is the cosmic disco by venezuelan producer daniel grau! an elusive monographic showcase of his very productive creative period between 1978 and 1982 will be released as a double cd on the berlin quality imprint later this year.
an epic odyssey, a space travel, orchestrated in two parts by 70s french electronic underground legend richard pinhas and his spiritual son etienne jaumet, whos dream to record with one of his heroes has finally come true...
apersonal music is excited to introduce a very special collaboration between massimiliano pagliara and jules etienne that goes by the name of egyptian nipples. the duo has extensively worked together on various projects and as very good friends it was just a matter of time before egyptian nipples was born.

having finished recording the new zombie zombie album (out: april 2012), etienne jaumet leaves temporarily the duo to record a solo piece, as a need to find oneself again … if the word satori means spiritual awakening, the title track that offers etienne seems to describe the way to this awakening … a winding and sometimes dark path, taking inspiration from both dark disco and synth wave (etienne is particularly keen of those genres, you can listen to his new podcast for versatile records as an evidence) and also to some kind of trance… on b side, jon convex, newcomer on the dubstep / uk garage field and signed on martyns label, delivers a clearly club oriented version, by injecting syncopated beat and the funky groove unique to uk garage.
beautiful cube-shaped sleeve design! beats n cubes. the most exciting and anticipated dance act of the moment will be raising the roof, etienne de crecy live! hope comes with remixes form d.i.m & djedjotronics.
beautiful cube-shaped sleeve design! french electro wizard etienne de crecy brings his extraordinary live performance to a festival near you! welcome comes with mixes from the bloody beetroots & pablo decoder!
a carl craig production!!! here is the 1st extract taken from night music, etienne jaumet new album to be released end of september. etienne is the keyboard player of zombie zombie. this man is breathing music. you have to catch him live to see how involved he is in his music. almost possesed. when i heard his album a while ago, i asked carl craig to make some production, which he accepted and made a job above our expectations! he pushed the level of psychadelism to the max! entropy is one of them. cosmic dark obssesive - a meeting between ashra temple, can and liaisons dangeureuses. tr 808, vintage synths...lets go for a ride... for the remix, christian vance, an australian producer who released recently a brillant track on rippertons label perspectiv has done a great job, changing the tune into a mental techno ride...we only released one mix, but check the digital platforms for more unreleased versions...
for the very first time on kitsune to the exception of a remix! etienne de crecy does an impressive live show with cubes highly recommended. with daft punk, air and alex gopher, he is a member of the french producers club who made history. his track here is techno in the old and noble sense of the term. ultraviolence on the dancefloor. each time its played in clubs, faces look like they are melting, the crowd is on its knees, begging for mercy and they are happy to be there. then >hanukkah< also works in the car monsieur jo, etiennes partner here, is a sound engineer and has produced albums for phoenix and cazals.the ep includes remixes from rising french producers les petits pilous and kitsunes favorite australian dj beni!
the commercial ep 1 has been a best seller & the volume 2 is set up to be even bigger ! after his live performed in the versailles castel with air, phoenix and alex gopher, he is about to come back on stages with a live set up in rennes, for the transmusicales, first, and worldwide then. in the meantime he is launching a new ep: the commercial ep2. for those who liked the first commercial ep, they will love the commercial ep 2 including funk, punk and funk remix by bloody beetroot (the talentuous italian producer team)
omar akhrif, donald and brū,n are an italian trio who gave life to the big morning records project, which follows the homonymous after party. solenoid 29 is the alias they wanted to use for this first ep, which contains 3 tracks that merge a nervous but elegant mix of techno, house and electro sounds. plus a track remixed in a dreamy way by the infamous spatial artist etienne.
