former member of dublin punk band the threat, stano released his debut lp on scoff records in 1983. recorded in alto studios, the irish artist eschewed live performances in favour of fusing collaborative, improvised, experimental music with spoken word-poetry. the lp featured contributions from fellow irish musicians and artists such as michael o shea, roger doyle, donald teskey, vinnie murphy, detroit born jerome rimson and is a seminal document of irish postpunk

elektroliza is a series of club events formed by a group of dedicated electronic music enthusiasts in 2006. it is hosted by ljubljana s channel zero, a legendary club that is part of the autonomous social centre metelkova which used to be the slovenian headquarters of the yugoslav national army.

filling a void in slovenia s electronic dance scene, the night was a hit from the start and quickly grew into a diverse and successful series focusing on new and exciting electro, acid and dark techno.

elektroliza hosted many memorable dj and live acts by performers/producers/pioneers coming out of international music incubators in gothenburg, the hague, berlin and as far as detroit. even more importantly, it brought together producers and crews from the former yugoslav republics of slovenia, croatia, serbia and macedonia. inside the former yugoslavian military barracks djs and producers from skopje to ljubljana began bonding again through music, forming new friendships, starting new collaborations and dancing the night away... in -electro city ljubljana-.

this first double vinyl compilation of the balkan elektroliza family is a collection of our shared memories and visions of the future to come.

remixers getting remixed! the first batch of interpretations for tc’s 2016 debut album adoldesscent arrives with a trio of artists above the ordinary. while tensnake and joe goddard take care of tell me (the former delivers one of his peaking trademark tearjerkers, while the later one is basically meditating on himself), gifted &blessed roman flügel turns the proto-rave of r-mancer into a joyful ride through post-house that not only will make gerdy happy. one record for every turntable.

its mildly comical, that tim wagner and amy douglas, two former long islanders would choose sunrise hwy (former sunrise highway) as the name for their venture, but one listen to the music, and its clear as to why they chose such a lofty and expansive name. sunrise hwy is atmospheric, sophisticated, broad, and most importantly a return to the song as king.
