diva is a project which explores the outer regions of technos psyche - combining the trippy sensuality of chris & cosey with the brutalist analogue aesthetic of the likes of robert hood or liasons dangereuses. inspired by the vocal histrionics of strobe lit sirens such as loleatta holloway and jocelyn brown, diva calls on the protean roots of basement club music. lead track >paris stabbing< is a stunning excursion into motor city madness, abstracted disco vocals clash with a broken digi-arpeggio and hooverish bass break down, whilst the flip side >but i ve never< imposes a detuned synth siren over an industrial bass sequence and sp1200 piano stabs to eerie effect. also included is the >paris stabbing (beats)< which pares down the original, adding detuned melodic percussion into a minimalist after hours tool.

this ep picks up where those moments left off. windfall and lied are killer non-linear batty disco infused house jams that set dancefloors alight while try the impossible and in public are deeper jams for the more serious moments of club emotion if you can put it that way. a rare future classic club twelve inch for our deejay friends.

terrence dixon is the man behind sporadic production alias population one, serving up dark and heavy, intense and ravey records for classic labels like utensil only occasionally. as such, delsins re-issue arm (following on from dan curtin, mk and luke slater titles) has sought to get some of the old tracks out there once again on this double a side 10inch outing with midnight hours (first on detroit: beyond the third wave lp from 1996) and two sides to every story (from an ep of the same name on metroplex, also in 1996).

with recent releases for internasjonal and tim sweeneys beats in space records, los angeles based producer secret circuit (otherwise known as eddie ruscha) has had a breakthrough year with his brittle synth jams, taking inspiration from balearic disco and minimal wave alike. however, he has been a prolific producer since 1996, and this record on emotional response, entitled tropical psychedelics, collects productions from rusha up until 2010 that have previously only seen the light of day on cassette releases. described by the label as a >balearic-tropical-afro-psychedelic whirl<, the album packs a rich palette of analogue textures into its ten tracks, from the afro dub of >afrobotics<, through the hazy, beatless combination of piano and analogue synth on >psouvenirs< to the psychedelic tropicalia of >foggy twilights<.

from medellin to the uckermark and back again to question mark – here is another comeme travelogue for your badass baedeker. not long ago sano left his colombian hometown to find himself in an old palace in brandenburg, locked inside a dreamlike basement studio for two weeks with another seven from around the world. it has been there, as sano told us, that a blood pact was sealed. and now indeed it is his >chupa< (suck it!) to be the already second record (after alejandro paz - free) to emerge from that magnificent comeme conclave held at a cottage outside of berlin this summer.

badboe is back with the second ep from his upcoming album pump up the funk coming out in the end of 2012. 4 brand new hot funky jams from the funk master himself - all mixed up and road-tested to perfection. following up on the success of his one of those days ep which has topped the breakbeat charts on both digital and physical format.

steevio delivers the second offering in the >modular techno< series of live improvised analogue recordings extracted from his practice sessions for the freerotation electronic music festival which he organises with partner suzybee. with vol 2 steevio takes his modular jams to the next level with more complex sequencing and refined harmonics in contrast to the deliberately raw vol 1. only basic editing to extract the individual tracks from the 1 hour live sessions was used, and there was no prior planning involved other than a choice of tempo and key. each session evolved from a totally blank canvass on steevios eurorack modular synth and moog voyager.

muscle records is a label for upfront dirty dance music. all tracks are conceived naturally and recorded on tape, so an elemental and honest approach is required to fully dive into muscle records sounds. riviera is a band formed by a bunch of young talented gritty analogue junkies, most of which has already released on a couple of disrespected labels. the band first jams were recorded on parching tape in a sultry warehoue close to the brentas muddy banks with a noisy dockyard of transistors delights. muscle records is to pride to present this piece of melting techno beats. the strictly limited (300 copies) sr11 e.p. has already got enthusiast feedbacks by blawan, steffi, pariah, rivet, cosmin trg, marcel dettmann, the analogue cops, alex picone, ben ufo.

daniel stefanik is one of the techno and house newcomers of the last years. his carefreeness as a dj behind the decks and his likeable appearance are literally distinctive for a new generation of young, down-to-earth producers from germany, which are the result of the influence of väth, villalobos and hawtin on the one side, and solid but hedonistic house on the other. whereas many producers nowadays have dedicated themselves to only one musical direction, the influence of kerri chandler, chez damier or kevin saunderson is clearly noticeable in stefanik’s music. his longplay debut for cocoon recordings is a mirror of all these influences and yet it’s so up-to-date and contemporary like only few other techno and house albums today.

2400 operator are daniel and troels, a danish house duo who kick out deeply affecting, motor city-inspired jams for the body, the mind and the soul. this is house music in its purest form, but then again not really. theres always an element of surprise.

tommy stewarts disco love affair is the sound of hotlanta nightclub music in the late 70s. thats right - cultures of soul is bringing you an album of sensual disco delights from classic producer / composer / arranger / pianist tommy stewart. stewart is already well-known among disco collectors for his track >bump and hustle music< as well as his studio work with artists as diverse as major lance, tamiko jones and loleatta holloway.
disco love affair features 14 cuts of rare disco funk. this includes the great disco jams >pay the price<, >party nights< and >hotbox<, as well the brilliant unknown modern soul track >universal love<. featured are two cuts reworked by famous disco dj/remixer al kent. this album also contains two unreleased tracks, >night flight< and >beyond love<, taken from the vaults of tommys private archives.

the deepest techno act from amsterdam with their deepest works so far.in three haunting and hypnotic analog techno jams spaventi & g-string show us the beauty of darkness. not sure which spirit possesed them that night but it was a nasty one! with their sparse 909 percussion and eerie synths they deliver techno how it once was intended: funky yet moody, seductive yet alienating. the bio rhythm continues.

after the amazing view from above ep on frantic flowers we simply couldnt resist to do another project with this guy. detroit legend terrence dixon, the mastermind behind population one, is a genius in the field of minimalism and reduction. as a truly unique character from the early detroit techno era, always being true to his own style, this ep brings 4 new cuts in his typical and recognizable sound. minimalistic monotone rhythms and weird loop constructions, always with the right tension in place, sometimes topped off with spoken words. on the title track i program my computer right, a weird guitar loaded affair, terrence dixon is accompanied by ulandra & tiaria, supplying the vocals. again a very collectible release on frustrated funks harbour city sorrow!
