currently fizzing up summer crowds on his european tour, the argentinian renaissance man is testing his wares, as he prepares to unveil his third artist album at the turn of 2019. set for release on the martinez brothers perennial cuttin headz imprint, it will herald a fresh jacking chapter for the artist who famously refuses to sit still. an instant statement of intent, ‘so dope’, the first taster from the forthcoming long-player, lives up to its name with a thumping nyc swing, loose twanging slap-bass pops, trippy vox overlays, springy rhythmic elements and all essential conga rolls. with its concrete-thick groove, ‘so dope’ commands an equally robust remixer rollcall. which is exactly what the martinez brothers have recruited... the bossmen themselves get elbow deep with a warped and twisted bassline that snakes around the stately jacking beat, gradually becoming more warped and wonderful as the track progresses. djebali follows with a precision contrast as the vocal shots wrap themselves tightly around a timeless 909 beat and subtle tracks of venomous acid while heartthrob flips it into an all-out rolling techno experience. dope ain’t the word.
grammy award winner louie vega is known worldwide as one of the finest creators and purveyors of house music, both as an individual artist / producer / dj and as partner with kenny dope in the renowned production team known as masters at work. his multiple musical talents have also brought him much acclaim in the genres of salsa, afro-beat, jazz, hip-hop and soul. last year he reached another career milestone when his album “louie vega starring...xxviii” was nominated at the 2017 grammys for best dance album, which further solidified his position as one of the industry’s premier artist / producers. but not everyone knows about louie’s deep respect, admiration and knowledge of the disco genre that laid the foundation for so much music that moves crowd on dancefloors and festivals today.

*bigger than prince* is a classic green velvet vocal number and sharper and fresher than anything we have heard this summer. quirky and driving, its set to be one of the tracks of the season. to back the original, yousef has drafted in more friends of circus on remix duties, hot since 82 and the martinez brothers.
the second release on the cuttin headz label is by the collective destination void: dj spider, brendon moeller and phil moffa, three major players on the nyc production map. destination void is techno straight from nyc, robotic and dark, designed for late nights in remote warehouses.

2011 two cd collection, the fourth installment in the mix series comprised of exclusive releases and re-edits by lawler himself. -in this day and age, a mix compilation needs to be special in some way, as dj mixes are freely available all over the internet,- lawler explained ahead of the release. -i want my fans to get a mix of tracks that are unique to its own arrangement and composition. when you buy the tracks as singles, people will get the original version of the track which in some cases may sound very different. only with the version on this mix will they get my re-arranged versions-this is, and always has been, the tradition of my lights out albums.-
with this double cd in early summer already, cocoon gives - just like in the past two years - an acoustic foretaste of what is expecting the clubbers at the nights of the >10 years of craziness< season. incl unreleased tracky by reboot, marco carola, tiga, martinez and more...
