you re invited once again to the iav vaults, where the measured density of instant classics is getting higher and higher as we dig. this time around, you re up for three techno steamrollers, infused with both club and rave dna, from distant times ranging between 1989 and 2000. while those tracks will let you connect with your utmost dancefloor and rave self, one should keep in mind laurent prot is not your average club punter. set aside his more recent club live pas, laurent has hardly even been to clubs or raves altogether. funny enough, the dancefloor is not his favorite place to be, but hes been cultivating this special techno fantasy-land from his own studio in the lyon suburbs. his own little private funky town.

coldgeists music on unknown bodies is an intimate reinterpretation of coldwave, techno and dark ambient codes, uttered with strength, guts, and an underlying romantic soul. inspired by nocturnal runs of bosozoku bikers clans, who stem from this japanese subculture of the late seventies , coldgeist has created a series of soundscapes and songs that evoke speeding through foggy nights and fluorescent lights. haunting repetitions and stiffness of the rhythms as a metaphor of mechanical gestures, of bodies turned into units of consumption, stranded from the life and passion they crave. the frustration of a youth that only finds relief in extreme experiences, danger, and the sexual tension of speed and crashes. with analog and digital instruments, field recordings but also his own voice and songs, coldgeist has bred a truly unique record.

at night, things get a lot more unpredictable. a stranger can become a friend, you suddenly become intimate with a woman or a man whos name you will never find out, while darkness also allows you to conceal your true identity - even become someone else. inspiration for this album emanates from the fascination towards the intensity of what nightlife has to offer , euphoria and melancholy, spotlights or incognito, sexual contact or lonely voyeurism... francois x entertains the listener with playful ambiguity and unsettling, yet sensual atmospheres.

of course, there is a story behind every release, and this ligovskoi debut on dement3d goes back to one of their first live performances in paris, back in 2011, organized by our cousin label silicate : a group of artists - including dscrd - were invited to recompose an ambient soundtrack on the movie outland by peter hyams. ligovskois live performance was absolute magic, and their intense and powerful sound signature - with moving infra-thin melodies, ethereal noises, and deep bass foundations - was already sounding perfect.

dement3d is proud to welcome valentino mora on board, and share with you a part of his spiritual journey. slow hyper-controlled motion has been inspired by butoh moves, but also is a homage to early new york spiritual house. in creating this record he also took field recordings in the forests of japan. the concept of slow hyper-controlled motion is to recreate this 90 s spiritual house vibe, but in a more experimental way.

ligovksois new ep with remixes by peder mannerfelt, abdulla rashim, polar inertia and hbt. the duo ligovskoi, between bruxelles and paris, has come up with five new pieces, bringing their craft to a whole new level. their condensed and moving soundscapes are now heightened by narrative compositions and constructions. (cross and lethe for instance, will drag you down several routes...) their hybrid sound-design and detuned, infra-thin arpeggios now also integrate free improvisations and breathtaking, melodramatic moments. this record collects many intimate things and singular ideas about voiski, it is also an excellent synthesis of his musical style, and how it is evolving towards a more and more unknown territory, where his -post-trance- idea collides classic detroit influences, 90 s techno (with that underworld cover obviously) and a very unique sonic identity he has developed playing his synths with a bright and powerful sound design, and rich arpeggios.

two years after his latest solo appearance on dement3d, francois x, also co-founder of the label, reveals his new ep unicorn paranoia. a record that sounds slightly more intimate indeed, after a period marked by close collaborations, especially with opuswerk (hiss:1292) and antigone (we move as one).

you can actually hear, in each one of those 16 tracks, how much fun he s having, playing with your mind.

the parisian scene has grown from a sparkle to an organised community of like-minded people, so has the relationship between those two bad boys, and we are proud to crystallise this wild energy on wax.

machines will fail us: those are the unsettling first words of this much expected new episode of the polar inertia odyssey. starting with this ode to machinery, the tale plunges suddenly in a stark apocalyptic scenario. along the 3:14? of the track kinematic optics, this mysterious polar inertia eventually begins to materialize and reveal more of its true essence. same might be said about this double ep, consisting of almost 75 minutes of music.

there is definitely something mysterious about hiss:1292, and unlike a number of other techno projects, it is not the identity of the two producers at stake here

this is the long awaited comeback of the gang of five - dscrd - to their first home - dement3d.

cover: hiss : 1292 - aetherius society epit was all unplanned : the duo even got its name after this first record got its mastering. hiss : 1292?s aetherius society ep is a powerful and passionate statement. the creative frenzy of two talented producers - one from switzerland 12?, the other one from the parisian suburbs 92? - stuck together in a studio in geneva, just a couple meters away from the roaring noise of a construction site. they ve been putting computers out of the picture, jamming on their machines, synths and effects, and thus creating both forward-thinking and retrofuturistic pieces of techno, with that special instant classic feel.

dement3d records presents: polar inertia remixed dm3d005 the story may be quite standard, nevertheless, we feel this record is really special. last year, in paris, among all the promoters that made this kind of techno riot happen, there was the only way out.
