scotland-born parisian paradise 100 (a.k.a. dj africa, a.k.a. graham peel) has been percolating stripped-back, bouncy-castle house constructs onto the web for a few years but never locked them in wax until now. high time. following his minimalist dictum *more than three tracks on a song is just indulgence*, his debut eps four cuts share a sleek, spare design, jigsawing slinky bass, classic keys, lean drum programming and flashes of synth mirage into fluid, aerodynamic patterns. touches of melodic acid and crossover new wave color the mood an exotic, hedonistic hue (further evinced by titles like the loin king and french kissing in the house of love). his own vision of the project is appropriately fantastical: *the image in my mind is of tropical forests at night, torchlight, distant sounds of tribal ritual dance and ghosts.* regal music for pleasure domes.

waveform transmission vol.3 initially came out in 1994 on tresor records. the eight titles on the album marked a turning point for jeff mills. it indicates a transition from the straightforward sound he had created through the early 1990�s, into the different facets and sound pallet he will develop through the remainder of the decade. it is a significant piece within jeff mills� masterwork.

�hulled� is a 25 minute journey spread across 4 tracks of glacial abandon. all tracks were recorded directly to tape with no overdubs, made at converse�s home studio. bill says these tracks represent �ocean waves in stormy conditions, dark grey blue water, or more generally speaking something ominous and beautiful.� the songs on this album reveal a sublime influence from detroit techno, idm, and acid. built around vintage synthesizer lines and gritty drum machine percussion, the tracks ebb and flow like the effect of sun shimmering on water, woozy, gauzy and ephemeral. all songs were mastered for vinyl by george horn at fantasy studios in berkeley. each ep is housed in a die-cute jacket designed by eloise leigh with peachy pink patterns landing on an alien water planet and seeing mysterious playing forms under the turquoise water. and the. each copy includes a postcard featuring photo of bill with notes.

�lost tracks vol. 2� contains 4 previously unreleased demos recorded between 1997 and 1999. the duo fused 80�s european new wave/italo disco with 90�s detroit electro acts like le car and dopplereffekt. by utilizing verse-chorus structures, they playfully shook up the loop based hard techno and electro that was popular at the time. their studio set up at the time was a korg ms-20, roland sh-101, tr-606, tr-808, siel dk80, and boss dr-660 drum machine. the songs are direct, spontaneous, seemingly improvised in places. miss kittin sings about falling in love in the new millennium, snuff movies and controlling the unknown trip to death, all in her cheekily derisive french accent. all songs have been transferred from the original dat tapes by the band and remastered for vinyl by george horn at fantasy studios. the vinyl comes housed in a glossy jacket featuring a black and white photo of the duo taken in 1996. each lp includes a postcard with liner notes from miss kittin and the hacker designed by eloise leigh. as miss kittin says of these demos, �we were naive, innocent, adventurous and we didn�t expect anything in return�

after last year s stellar ep on l.i.e.s. records, veteran, brooklyn-based producer and dj jake reif (savage hymn, upsetting keys) continues to make waves with his device control brand. the first side of the new ep2 begins with silhouettes: a robotic, techno-funk work out with a nasty kick drum, swirling modular sounds and a timothy leary inspired vocoded vocal. an instrumental version has been included for selectors who prefer tracks to songs. on the flip, joystuck continues the aural assault with a slightly more stripped-back approach. hard-hitting metallic percussion and screaming, alien-esque synth bleeps are all that s necessary here to decimate a dance-floor. finally, divisive rounds out the ep with a stomping vengeance, its jacking claps and dissonant harmonics have been carefully designed to deliver a sonic gut-punch, taking no prisoners when played on a club system

reflex in waves brings together a series of sonic approaches manning has been developing for over a decade. specifically, manning�s work is concerned with waves and the impacts of their resulting vibration. quietly producing audio works out of his studio in yeronga, on the south side of brisbane city, manning�s works are based on a series of deeply personal instrument designs, tape manipulation and other exploratory approaches. his instruments, which are often percussive, use harmonically related materials that are activated by motor-driven strings. the resulting sound is a chaotic but pulse-like cluster of harmony.

fashion flesh is the solo-output moniker of john talaga, based in bay city, usa, whose music first came to our attention back in 2016 with the release of an excellent 7-inch on detroit s est. 83 records. he should have been in the radiophonic workshop, but he was in the wrong place, wrong decade. instead, withdrawn comes as his first full-length album and makes up for the perfect introduction to talaga s synthesis of original and plasticized melodic collages, birthed from the guts of hand built exotic electronics and various audio devices � built from one s own design and heavily modified beyond audible recognition or return. from torn memories of pleasant dreams to plasticine free jazz sculptures, wavey electro cuts squealing like rubber tyres and pop hallucinations, fashion flesh highlights the beauty of confusion and anxiety throughout the breathing and illusive meanderings of his tape manipulations and hard copy cut-ups.

pl007 is the beginning of a duo with praymond and thomas murphy. it all started by setting up a temporary music studio in an old farm made of stones in the french countryside during the heat wave of summer 2016 in france first, plug a microphone and start recording a couple of dry leafs crunched with gentle hands and mixed with the sound of ice cubes tingling at the bottom of a pastis glass add to this some brushes played on a newspaper and fingers banging on the edge of a kalimba, then finally, build around with your drum machines and analog synths. the result is a classy brand a alternative minimal techno, mixing acoustic rhythmics and relentless swing. none of the tracks were designed for massive big room type techno with big drops and never ending build ups but more for human size bounding experiences and never ending after partys. both slow burning tracks have in common a introspective quality, specially les cailloux but both tracks remain solar in essence.cadillac has a more gold tooth & chains attitude to it and could remind the listener (if he ever had the experience) of being on the run in a get away car, stepping on the gas, crossing the desert with an open roof top after robbing our dear financial institutions

elephant moon proudly presents russian producer plantae (artyom zlobin).. his love for contemporary electronic music came a little later in life, with early influences coming from the worlds of old rock, jazz, hip-hop and older electronic recordings. he has a deep-seated love for nature, and counts art, design, books and film among his inspirations outside of music. on this ep he channels all his influences into four nuanced cuts, straight from his laboratory to john dimas, the head scientist at elephant moon.

in linguistic or electronic logic, the xor gate designates a device, digital or grammatical, which outputs a value only when two di ering inputs are fed into it. this can be summed up with the formula �one or the other but not neither, nor both.� a conic section is a shape created as a plane intersects a cone. this can result in di erent figures such as a circle, an ellipse, a parabola or a hyperbola. conic sections is here composed of eight themes, or shapes, over which waveform and synthesis entirely merge with human emotions. the line is blurred. these eight themes are intertwined, forming one long musical string. the line is forever blurred. conic sections was commissioned by artcenter south florida in miami, for the an image exhibit

xen & yovav return to malka tuti in 2018 with full thrust and eyes to the future. after being responsible for the first 2 releases on the label, this time the enigmatic singer and the influential producer collaborate and deliver 2 original songs. hayom etmol is a 100% good vibe diy post-punkish poppy song with a flowing synthetic bass line, balearic guitar riffs and dreamy vocals. the b-side, shavit, is a vocal led song, with a repetitive guitar bassline and, trip guitar riffs and a minimalistic drum machine. low fi in its production shavit feels as if it has been dug out of an abandoned 80s record store in the outskirts of glasgow or amsterdam, with a strong cold wave feel to it. this 7� will be the first in a series of more diy approach to electronic music, song writing and production. some exciting names on the bill so hold on to your chairs... hayom etmol�s artwork design was made as always by morey talmor, with a printed inner sleeve designed by the israeli artist kobi swissa and a special silkscreened outer pvc sleeve.
