ever find yourself on a long escalator in a train station? an undistinguishable robot voice is coming from the intercom. you move effortlessly on this machine, yet you do not understand the sounds coming towards you. this is the essence of vestibule. followed by the ecstatic rhythms on rising, these two make a colorful a side in contrast to the black and grey of solpara’s previous releases. the b side features two remixes, one by the prolific lestasi delloro and the other by the newest member of the booma roster: belgium lights. lestasi delloro questions the four to the floor pattern of the original track and pops it upside down, like the negative of a photograph, giving it an unexptected bounce with marvelously swung hi hats. belgium lights takes a deeper approach to the remix and stretches it out to almost 9 minutes, pulling us down the escalator, at a faster pace and through a darker tunnel.

its a great pleasure to welcome back waze & odyssey to the label, since their first please dont dance ep on dirt crew wich was released in early 2013 and that featured an excellent detroit swindl remix botht duos have had a massive rise and impact on the underground house scene worldwide. waze & odyssey have also had killer releases on their own imprint w&o street tracks and with their latest on the downlow single they stormed the dancefloors and major radio playlists. waze & odyssey is best know for their straight up bangin’ house cutz and with these two tracks you get exactly that! go go go is a filterred house banger that takes us back to the early chicago and french house productions from the mid 90s. on the other side of this fine 10 the deeper and more electrofied we go home delivers some nasty breakdowns and with its manic pitched and ascending lead sound it should shake and stir your brain to get your feet moving for sure. pure dance floor action with these two new waze & odyssey tracks!

derrick carters seminal sound patrol album originally released in 1994, * sweetened - no lemon*, will see a re-release in january 2016. the alias provided a place for carter to explore deeper and sometimes more atmospheric styles. the sound patrol record originally came out via chicagos organico label, while derrick carters own arts & labour is handling the reissue. the triple vinyl re issue adds four new unreleased tracks. the whole album has been re mastered for 2016. this follows a limited edition sampler 12 inch released in 2015 which contained another 2 unreleased tracks.

aside from being the originator and creator of the osmose sound 7inch vinyl record stabiliser, dj osmose is a purveyor of the finest house and disco concoctions, a man who has clearly dedicated his life to both house culture and the vinyl format - we dig. this time hes up on the newly crowned morgan avenue edits, and first up is a collaboration with bydesign, a track entitled red light disco, and one that is a total discoid banger, backed by one hell of a baseline. hazardous disco sees the man go solo and deeper than before, serving up a beautiful, vocal-laden, string-heavy disco joint for the modern ear, followed by the smooth-as-silk groove of i dont wanna know. stunningly fab.

under his chemotex alias, marcos cabral has been one of the trilogy tapes most productive artists in recent times. this is his third 12&#8243,,, for will bankhead’s imprint in less than 12 months. unlike cabral’s recent album for l.i.e.s, which reveled in its’ own distorted, balls-out intensity, thulsa strives to get a balance between becalmed techno hypnotism, skuzzy grooves and gently melodious intent. this blend is perhaps most satisfyingly mixed on the industrial-tinged clank of “delta city-, though the woozier, scuffled late night warmth of “music for security” pushes it close. twice he heads towards deeper territory, first on the title track’s trance-inducing synthesizer loop groove, and secondly on the dubby, locked-in tech-house majesty of “lorentz-.

ras g is one of the definitive producers of the los angeles beat scene, a co-founder of the poo-bah label, and hip-hop beat-maker who digs probably deeper than any into the worlds of free jazz, jazz fusion and afrofuturism. the prolific producer currently has two albums on brainfeeder, two released by poo-bah, and several on leaving records, including the beat tape series raw fruit. focused and expansive, el-aylien is a cosmic exhibit in ras g’s sonic explorations of collage and rhythm.

label head enzo siragusa returns to fuse for his first full ep since 2012 with the sanctuary ep kicking off with double dove, a hyper-kinetic slab of phunked up tech weaponry. the cavernous bass makes for a real warehouse vibe whilst silken pads lap upon the senses for an audio overload. the flipside s solo takes things into deeper realms, a tripped out vocal effect being the track focal point, custom made for early hours sessions whilst the eps vinyl only track gemini does away with any headier pretences and delves straight into the heart of things with a thumping kick and sense of purpose.

2015 has been a busy year for soul intent. relocating from nottingham to bromley, releasing -the fruit club ep- on lossless in march, his -wanna fight ep- dropped on klute s commercial suicide in august, the sci-fi themed -replicant- marked lossless music s first digital only release in october and his -late night sleaze ep- has been awarded mixmag s dnb tune of the month (nov 15 issue). on top of all this alex is about to launch two (yes two!!) sub-labels for lossless music. the first of these is exkursions. exkursions will cater for the deeper, more experimental side of dnb & electronic music. though concentrating it s tempo focus around the 170 mark exkursions will also be taking explorations down into slower soundscapes. the first release is a 3 tracker from soul intent and the tracks have already turned the heads of respected selectors including doc scott, presha, loxy and logistics. we won t say much for than that, we ll let the music do the talking.

san fransisco meets nyc for the third release on fifth interval. rose bay from federsen sets the tone for the record: drenched in tape hiss, the warm pads and delays create a richly textured environment for deeper club sets or for 2am sessions on headphones. dub techno luminary brendon moller offers up two versions of the title track to complete the ep - one in his own name and the second under his ecologist guise. fans of the label will no doubt be well aware of moller s formidable discography, which includes 10 albums under a variety of aliases, exploring the outer reaches of dub music. coaxing two captivating versions from his studio in upstate new york, moller focusses on the chord stabs from the original for the echologist dub, pushing the stabs and percussion through the desk, twisting the tails through tape delay and creating new vistas through crafty use of panning and bona fide dub production techniques. closing with the outstanding tidal dub, moller dons his beat pharmacy cap and pushes the mammoth bassline to near speaker-crushing levels to create a deeply hypnotic groove that is accentuated by waves of ferric pads and fractured percussion.

brstl returns with two house cuts from jay l, his second release for the label. started in 2011 as a means to highlight house and techno being produced in bristol, the label watched over by shanti celeste and idle hand’s chris farrell is now into double figures.show me on the a-side is a finely constructed piece of house music aimed at djs and dancers. anyone who saw jays recent boiler room debut will know his musical style, steeped in classic us house, soul and boogie but with a tastefully bumpy uk edge. the b-side blue age is a deeper cut living up to its title, all wistfull piano keys and a subdued bass line. this is jay l and brstl doing what they do best, sending vibes from bristol to the world.

the first lad of birmingham techno, rebekah, arrives on soma in a rapturous debut on the confined heart ep. having made her name through the mighty clr and her own decoy label, rebekah has her sights focussed firmly on the future as she develops her ferocious sound with the classy 2 track ep. showing real death to her productions, confined heart has an almost, deeper emotional content whilst still being true to her uncompromising sound. kill floor immediately has you running for the hills as rebekah powers home her soma debut with sheers brute force.

coils is the latest offering from santa ana, ca native evan geesman. fresh from the success of his release lengua, with co-signs from bandcamps head curator andrew jervis and osunlade, his new work finds him delving deeper into his production palette interspersed with his songwriters aesthetic, resulting in a decidedly denser sonic soundscape than its predecessor.

cadenza music opens up its 2016 account with the debut single from swiss producers, rare movement feat. disco channel. cutting their teeth on the dj circuit for many years, and playing alongside such esteemed jocks as seth troxler, ricardo villalobos (who mastered the audio on these tracks), jamie jones and luciano (who ultimately signed this single to cadenza), the guys have crafted a pair of tracks that sit right in the dj sets of the aforementioned company. rare 007 combines tension building synths and a wandering bassline, wrapped up tight in solid drum groove, its hypnotizing tones carving out a most useful club tool. on the flip side, rare 011 digs deeper, with cinematic string sweeps over the sparse and bass heavy kick drum. flashes of vocal refrains and micro percussion fly in and out of the arrangement as the melodic elements give this one a real sense of drama as the track blossoms into life. a very accomplished debut from the guys will no doubt provide a real dancefloor moment in the right setting, and no surprise that villalobos gave these tracks the audio master that they deserve.
