rrocckkett 88 is a suite of 45 dazzling instrumental tracks - ranging from 30 seconds to 2 minutes long - alternating between rhythmic and atmospheric forms, all composed on a single synthesizer, the ensoniq sq 80 (manufactured in 1988). as the inspiration for this creation, zano bathroom (an illustrator, artist, and sound experimentalist based in atlanta) used jackie brenstons song, >rocket 88<, considered by many to be the first de facto rock and roll song.
with rrocckkett 88, the artist invented the story of his music. he conceived a fantasy music production house in the mid 80 s in new orleans where hip hop, house, techno, r & b, go go, punk and new wave are both the backdrop and inspiration. using these themes zano bathroom has imagined a comic strip score, made of video game music and tv commercial soundtracks creating a playful, disposable universe.

produced in 2004, this ep marks an essential shift in the production of stefan goldmann to his modus operandi as a dedicated innovator. he had adapted the barricade guise to induce some serious deviations into the techno realm. yet, heads werent ready and he simply continued under his real name with his major breakthrough works: perlons blood ep and the legendary sleepy hollow tune. hidden from the public, aleko and frantic had built a prototypic aesthetic of rough, concrete-space sounds - reduced dark, metallic percussion grooves, spring reverbs and degraded post-acidic synths. you name it where you heard this sound years later. its revealing how far ahead these tunes were at the time of their creation. they sound more now than many current tracks. aleko is the 4/4 techno version of this soundset, locked-in clonk patterns built around a nitrous bassline. frantic could be a future development to todays dubstep, if it wasnt its actual historic predecessor. add the schizophrenic bass excursion heliotrope and you have a package of painstaking relevance. back then the a&rs simply didnt get it - thats why it took 6 years and the formation of victoriaville to finally bring these gems to light

the solid tumbling tones found on this ep are all thats needed as an introduction to these two accomplished producers latest creation. both strong forces in their own right, the pair come together once again on sweatshop to present their vision of dancefloor harmony, and mystery! sirens is the aptly titled track whose crazy vibe is encapsulated by jacking, swinging percussion, wild pitching synth stabs and a haunting soprano soloist letting loose! this needs to be experienced to be believed, but the proof will be in the dancefloor, hands in the air and minds expanded! moirae works the tension with dense filtered stabs and crisp solid state percussion, driving this deep slab of dark dance into blissful moments of release. mellow yet urgent, its a raw, purist electronic statement! joel alter also offers up a special edit which focuses the groove in a slightly more kinetic direction, with reduced, aquatic synth work and a classic club energy that makes it an ideal addition to the package.

after the well received all creation 12s delsin records drops yotokos >wet ink<. yotoko are shifty & domu (jcr, 2000black, archive). yotoko stands for a perfect fusion between broken beat, techno and soul.
their album is not about breaking barriers, but it is their own little twisted version of what they call techno. for yotoko techno can be heard in everything, so as such it is all techno. domu and shifty are influenced by lots of different stuff, soul, jazz, disco, hip hop, techno, some old break beat, new broken stuff.. as well 20 pence mad charity shop finds.. the album is about yotoko making music they think is cool and realizing that all this music is the same no matter what the bpm or groove.
