clone classic cuts continues their re-issues series for one of the most influential techno acts ever: drexciya. the second selection of tracks includes favorites such as bang-bang,positron island,anti vapour waves and journey home complimented with some lesser or unknown tracks. raw, uncompromising music made with soul and creativity have always has been the trademark of drexciya (and also from their original label underground resistance) and this album is another showcase of their talents. btw there is not much further background info we can give. all that can be revealed is already out there.

jay west from argentina has been releasing quality deep house (the real sort that is) for the past decade, last years smile ep on bebr got some serious playlist and chart action from everybody who knows their shit, and were please to welcome him to the moodmusic family. the ep starts with blame the music, the sort of feel-good house music we used to get loads of in the early to mid 90s from the big apple. swinging beats, almost disco bass and a sunshine filled vocal are the ingredients for a tune, and jay has delivered one. this will probably not be belted by the kids house community, but real heads knows what to do with this weapon. down continues the journey with victor simonelli style keys and a bouncy bassline, making place for the low-slung in & out tune which have some serious west coast mushroom influences. we love it! to end the ep the catchy little mean machine finally brings the smile to your face.

aura go rises, opens, rouses not unlike a soft light growing to illumination, a day slowly revealing itself. synths whisper and ring out – like bells marking an early hour – at the start, followed by a succession of other awakenings: a palpitating beat, vocalizations that repeat like undulations, percussive poundings and ringings. it all leads to full on, acid-infused, dance floor hypnosis, with producer dennis dj mcnany pushing polyrhythmic, almost tribal beats to the very front. with the addition of husky vocals from collaborator jee young sim – imagine siouxsie sioux crossed with planningtorock – the sound becomes something altogether, and altogether unexpectedly, gorgeous.
