the latest release on arma comes from dutch legend and devoutly deviant underground operator ruud lekx, aka rude 66. with a legacy that reaches back to the early 90s and the rough and ready dutch electro sound of bunker records and the hague, hes maintained a distinctly non-conformist approach that touches on acid, italo, techno and more besides, all finished with the punky attitude that sets him and peers like unit moebius and i-f apart. the tracks gathered together on the witch trials ep come from throughout lekxs career. as the artist himself says, tracks from wildly different eras and sessions suddenly can combine to form one coherent ep. its almost like the a-side tracks were waiting for 20 years to be combined with the b-side tracks. the overriding theme that binds together these timeless machine excursions is that of medieval witch trials a global phenomenon that peaked in the 15-1600s. considering the suspicion, propaganda and mass moral panic involved in this strange curio of distant history, lekx points to the parallels with the current age, of political polarization and fake news accusations flying all over. the ep title is also a tribute to two records close to his heart: the falls live at the witch trials, and the one-off witch trials project by members of the dead kennedys, adrian borland and christian lunch. werewolves & poisoners and the crusade against idolatry are both archive tracks from the 1994-5 period when lekx made his first albums for bunker records.

vast, expansive and introspective works utilising place-specific found sound on this second cremation lily lp for alter. contemplating mortality, illness and the perennial bleakness of british winter in a seaside town we find zen zsigo experimenting with piano, violin, synthesiser and walkman tape players. layering field recordings of the hastings shoreline atop druggy, stretched out 303 basslines and snippets of spoken word there seems to be an overarching thematic of memory and reflection at play. from vignettes of crumbling glass and bittersweet drones through to sprawling, semi-rhythmical pieces (‘as a sea creature...’) it seems as if zsigo is trawling the coast for fragments of its former glory. the end result of his study manages to echo the work of yoran, leyland kirby and even jacob kirkegaard yet the rare moments where he lays bare his own vocal narrative seemingly transforms in england now, underwater into sonic diary territory. mixing salt-water soaked cassette loops with haunting, minimalist piano motifs and warped recordings of crashing waves and bird noise an intense atmosphere of ballards drowned world is evoked through sound.

echodroides is a collaboration between chicago natives frank de la mora & miguel martin. their sound can be described as a trip through space with analog synthesizers and drum machines. they came together in 2011 first working on remixes then shortly after decided to work on original material. their music has been featured in tv shows, movies, promotional videos from peugeot, fashion labels and the ubisoft video game, watch dogs. for this special and limited release they re-created a track from 80s us studio project, experimental products, - paying tribute to -glowing in the dark- original and an instrumental. (words from the artists) experimental products has always been a massive influence on us from the very 1st time we heard them back in the 80s. glowing in the dark, in particular changed everything for us. mark wilde and michael gross were way ahead of their time. we wanted to pay tribute to them by re-creating this song from scratch.

harlem s legendary disco label queen constance has long been a cult favourite among fans of underground dance music for decades. one of many labels operating under the equally legendary p&p family of imprints queen constance was operated by one peter brown, a truly colossal figure in nyc s music scene, it s catalogue still fascinates music lovers to this day. covering a wide range of styles including gospel, early rap and disco the label s output continually finds it way into the playlists of respected dj s and selectors across the globe. licky & the dream lovers massive afro-disco groove african rock is the next in a fully licensed series of queen constance rarities to be repressed. licky seems to be yet another studio group put together by peter brown in order to explore different sounds and styles. this raucous piece of uptempo, blazing disco really does the business in the dance, a truly immense club record, which is not surprising considering brown is at the helm. ridiculous funk on this one. across 2 sides we are treated to 2 slightly different versions of the cut, both equally as good, you could literally put the needle on the record, let it spin and watch it do damage. this one is an essential, a truly sought after record that commands extremely high prices on the used market when it shows up, but rarity aside, it is an absolute bomb and deserves to be in any self-respecting disco jocks bag of tricks. this is a 100% legit reissue, made in conjunction with above board distribution and the demon music group, lovingly remastered with love by optimum mastering, bristol uk.

the beacon crowns ashurst hill in dalton, lancashire, looming over the verdant english countryside nearly six hundred feet above sea level. this spartan brick monolith was erected in 1798 as a watch tower to warn of french invasion during the napoleonic war — & there it silently remains, keeping infinite vigil. it stands in tess roby’s mind. the beacon calls to her. “throughout my life i have felt the pull to return to it,” she says. “i’m beckoned by father’s roots & by the sullen landscape of fields leading to the coast.”

faitiche is happy to be releasing the album improvisations and edits, tokyo 26.09.2001 on vinyl for the first time. for the original 2002 cd on soup-disk and sub rosa (audiosphere), jan jelinek and the japanese trio computer soup (satoru hori – trumpet, osamu okubo - toys & electronics, kei ikeda - toys & electronics) presented eight tracks all recorded one afternoon in the trio’s living room in tokyo. they are excerpts from a joint group improvisation that subsequently underwent rudimentary editing, on which jelinek and computer soup worked separately.
