tar hallow is a new label based in rotterdam, nl devoted in electronic music. first release on the label is from super unknown, producer dimitris damaskos (damcase) from thessaloniki, gr and currently based in rotterdam, nl. the ep comes with four tracks of distorted techno in a no control journey where there is no need for so many med and high frequencies.

the mysterious duo project overall severity landed on fabrizio lapiana s attic music with an intense three track ep called -helene-, second installment of the new hurricane series. on the first side, in -vario 7288- they make an intricate journey immersed in a dark noir melody with powerful techno rhythms and plenty of alien sounds. -unable to assess- on the b-side turns into a hypnotic-linear sound focused on an obsessive and scientific atmosphere where the loopy drums light the way. an ambient flow closes this work, -emotional harm- is an evocative result of accurate sound design full of bleep, breaks and distorted chords.

back at it again, taking the true essence of the “jacking” sound of chicago house and putting it’s own stamp on it is what obsolete music technology has done with their new 12&#8243,, entitled, “volatile.” warbling, wobbling, distorting, sinisterly acidic basslines abound is the best way to describe this release! for dance floors only! you have been warned! “volatile” starts off with some 707 drums intro and then fading in, is this tripped out, bubbling bass sound that sends you off a cliff! just when you think that’s all to the track, dark, melancholic pads comes in for added atmos-fear! rounding out the a-side is “killin,” with it’s 2 acid style basslines, one sounding at a high octave and the other at a lower octave. riffs playing separately sounding great, but when played together, there is something slightly, mentally off. on the b-side, “broken siren” is high energy! 808 tom drums bringing the funky low end while a short, electronic piano lick drenched in warm, fuzzy, flange effect. setting it off is a decayed sine wave, mimicking an actual alarm sound. lastly, “electric current” best describe this distorted acid bassline and its tweaking filter and resonance controls over jacking 808 drums

featuring unsung heroes of acid house and distorted funk, past and present, stealth mission a new project focused on raw, warehouse music. the labels first release sees mark ambrose, andreas gehm, naked eye people and ben sims sought after edit of donnie keys which was featured on his fabric mix early 2014.

kretsen is a new swedish label dedicated to the underground sounds of the nordic elfs and its city siblings. it might be raw, undefined, distorted, dusted or just plain sweaty house and techno, but it will move you. the first release is from the duo svida that have had a few successful releases out on samuel l sessions imprint klap klap records. now they are back with three different tracks that will cater for an evening of city funadelica.

after a very techno first release, unanim returns with another approach of the genre. it is herodot who delivers two very different tracks for his duo ep.
silent record rules the first side of this vinyl and its a monster. the rolling bassline and the powerful percussion are backed by tripping background noises. you cand also hear french experimentalist duo radiomentalle and david toops distorted voice. this one is definitely not silent and 100% destined for the dancefloor.

danse club 16th release welcomes greek producer, sek also of ama, morris audio, large. the release kicks off with everybody, a bumping and groove filled slice of deep house that employs a simple bass, a filtered piano chord groove and sparse vocal hits. next up is no matter what, a driving, garage influenced record which is sure to send dance floors crazy. last but not least the b2, sofa king high. a laid back, deep, sleezy house record with distorted chords, smooth bass and addictive vocals.

back with his second ep on truesoul after his impressive kilimanjaro ep, dubspeeka has tossed out more attitude with his new noise ep. keeping in the similar dubspeeka trend, his noise ep is dark and moody with interesting twists and turns to give this serious character. from the distorted drums of noise to the melodic synth line of usk dubspeeka has delivered an outstanding piece of work that should be commended with the highest honour. the preciseness of his synths and vocal swirls separate this from other projects and shows the class and enigma that dubspeeka is capable of.

gold fingers is on roll! not long ago deejaykul brought the deep and jazzy house element to gold fingers. now it is time for hade to continue on the house route but take things even deeper. its not right needs very little introducing, you will be signing the lyrics straight away, it is a classic sounding as fresh and relevant in this hade version. on the flip, mobb deep ultra is all bouncing basslines and 4/4 house in perfect harmony.

now nighttripper records is born! the first is from the us native scott scheferman it is a cold stomper with jerky sounds and stomping distorted 909 kick. on a pleasant bpm still playable in any techno set. watch out for this guy! on the remix we have robert armani who delivers a minimal but ruthless effort for the big room and will please the hardcore fans on the b side orlando strikes back as the nighttripper with some funky mayhem!

the seventh modal analysis release comes from athenian producer and dj, anfs. following his remix for kondaktors signal 1, anfs returns to the label with his debut release, ground, a four track ep which consists of original material. borrowing sounds from early twentieth century folk greek culture, the ep is dominated by a rhythmic canibalistic spirit and a noisy distorted cue. ground 1 functions as an introduction, or rather ones initiation to the mystic rituals that prevail. the artist uses drones and distorted textures which increase in ground 2 and are backed up by drums that beat in a hard-and-slow ethnic tonality. ground 3 reveals a paroxysm of emotions which comes as a result from the combination of basslines and vocals that create a complex and twisted vortex. the trip ends with ground 4, a more stripped down monotonic ensemble that serves as an epilogue and a catharsis.

petter b delivers an outstanding new ep on drumcode proving that swedish techno is thriving! the first track which, is a collaboration between petter b, john h & m.e.e.o, uses an arpegiated synth before storming to the main section of the track and breaking down the doors. the gliding synth sounds really fire with all guns blazing to produce a techno monster that growls. petter bs next two tracks involve two solo offerings that are heavily techno based.voltage controlled time uses raw distorted drums and a catchy synth line to really give the track a lot of energy and power.
