matt karmil is a british musician currently residing in sweden. ++++ is his third album, following 2014 s pnn debut - - - - and idle033, released on bristol label idle hands earlier this year. his output also includes a variety of singles for labels such as new yorks beats in space recordings and stockholm s studio barnhus. on this new album, karmil can be heard exploring the concepts of impossible objects, reflection, symmetry, infinity perspective, truncated and stellated polyhedra, hyperbolic geometry, tessellations and lost love. while making the music that constitutes ++++ he interacted with mathematicians george pólya, roger penrose and harold coxeter as well as the crystallographer friedrich haag, and also conducted his own research into tessellation. the result is ++++, karmil s most clever, strange, emotional and fun work yet, a testament to his breadth and depth as a musician. did we forget to mention that he s an awesome party dj?

terence fixmer his known in the late 90s , early 2000s as the creator of the tbm, described as techno body music. a mixture of the ebm soundscape with the modernity of techno. his muscle machine album (including tracks lile electrostatic, body pressure) released in 2001 became a reference of the genre. in 2003, musician terence fixmer and legendary singer from cultissism band nitzer ebb, douglas j mccarthy embarked on a project that spearheaded the fusion of techno and ebm. they named it fixmer/mccarthy and they were the precursor to a new breed of techno artists that manage to traverse between an array of scene specific genres without being tied to any. since releasing their first album, >between the devil<, in 2003 terence and douglas have ridden the line between pure techno and the recognizable song structure of classic electronic music and ebm. now, with over 13 years working together for this project and playing around the world, they return to their signature raw sound and delivery. >so many lies< is quintessential and brooding techno, while the instinct mix epitomizes their ability to craft a catchy bubbling baseline whilst all the while dispatching cold steel aggression.

forecast label announces new vinyl ep -holysheep- by cheaper shepherd to be released in march 2016. samples, drum machines and old school keyboards: a straight ­to ­the point! cheaper shepherd is a duo of producers born in the 15th borough of paris. drived by their love of synthetizers and other analogic machines, they ve been working in electronic music for years. in addition to their own projects, they have produced several hip­hop, house and techno projects: timä, androma (savoir faire), la direction, dudmode, peterbär... their first ep origin came out on helpme records early 2013, followed by three other eps, released on their own label baldwin records among others. they joined the booking roster of forecast label in 2012, and released on vinyl their first ep for the label. this projects appears as the fulfillment of a collaboration that has allowed them to go on tour in france (paris, bordeaux, lyon and st malo) but also in china. in 2015, they also went to the us to record with cans. the project was originally an ep of five songs, but the chemistry was such that it has turned into a 17 tracks album that will be released in 2016, between old school hip hop, house music and trap... limited to 200 copies !

despite of his young age french artist jan hendez has already released quite a lot of good records. his tunes came out on labels like kina and early dub and have gained excellent reputation in the whole electronic scene. the bordeaux based dj and producer is working with his machines since more than eight years now. hendez plays regularly in all important venues in france. his debut for tabla consists of four strong tunes that are constantly cruising from techno to house and on to micro-house. be surprised!

two tracks from a brand new (second in a row) ep by warsaw-based duo tumult hands fully illustrate paradoxical approach of jacek sienkiewicz and jurek przeŸdziecki to the creation of a common integrated form. spontaneous compositional decisions and minute sound interventions are contrasted here with a persistent precision of rhythms generated by both musicians in a reality of an inter-studio space, in moments of an encounter, sometimes, fully controlled collision, of two worlds. full of inner rigour and logic (record is a prime example of modern functionalist music), although teeming with fantasy and flourish, tumult hands current explorations also announce duos full-length lp, soon to be released through recognition records.

aether series is home for bass heavy and dj-friendly experimental music and sound art. the first release of the series is ikolas mini-lp titled *core*, originally recorded for *machine soul - the documentary film* soundtrack. the film focuses on pioneering finnish electronic music artists such as mika vainio, jori hulkkonen and jimi tenor. the score is composed as a tribute to their work and is now released as an independent piece on vinyl.

the 1978 record, which goes for up to $800 on the collectors market, comes with a lore all its own. the liner notes explain that at the time of its recording, davis was suffering from personal turmoil and a head full of memories from the vietnam war. the infamous jonestown, guyana mass murder occurred two days before the recording session and weighed heavily on his consciousness. the resulting electronic score would garner attention from legendary motor city dj electrifying mojo. in the early 80s, davis performed as 3070 in cybotron alongside juan atkins, laying the groundwork for detroit techno and electro with cuts like alleys of your mind. despite successful cybotron albums released on fantasy records, davis spent time penniless and abandoned in a v.a. hospital. the new 12inch version of methane sea was cut to lacquer straight from the original master tapes. davis currently lives in ypsilanti, michigan and works with music videos, fractal designs and cgi.

after releasing brand new material on dum034, dum records are dipping into the label boss’s production archives for the next one: it is a reissue that features tracks from a number of classic mono junk releases. two came on trope records, one in 1995 and one in 1993, and the last pair of cuts come from 1996 when they were released on plug research. arguably some of the influential finnish producer’s finest work, all of the tracks here emphasize how long he is operating on the top of his game already.

traditional folk music from belgium, performed by swedish youngsters, met by art music with inspiration from the dj-culture. during the fall of 2015, guf (gävleborgs ungdoms folkband) released an album called guf4life where one of its songs got the dj & composer slim vic to react. the rain drenched sounds in the original composition worked as the fundament for two different musical journeys, signed by slim vic. part 1, is a varying composition that take the listener in and out of club music, ambient and the original tracks folk music. part 2, is a very dystopic world of sounds clearly on the border of art music.

this is the relaunch limited edition album (475 copies only, remastered from the original master tapes) of the male productions label. it contains theaoriginal songs of the true underground sound of rome from the rare and sought after ep released in 1991 on male records plus two unreleased tracks recorded in 1991. in italy during early 90 s after the disco era was time for the new born underground music movement. male productions represents the first italian electronic-house independent label, based in rome and managed by chicco furlotti, former club-dj and organizer of the early italian rave parties. this album features stefano di carlo and other big names from the italian electronic and house music scene like leo young and mauro tannino. we cant call this music as deep-house, ambient or techno because it s the true undergound sound of rome!

while being a rare patrick adams and billy nichols production, mary clark’s “take me i’m yours” has in recent years become one of the most celebrated disco tracks by contemporary deejays. this borderline gospel-disco gem has all the elements of a timeless disco cut, a driving bass line, powefully arranged strings and horns, but most importantly, a very soulful performance by mary clark. like many of peter brown’s “affliate” labels, little is known about them or the artists recorded. originaly released in 1980 on ‘la shawn’, it is rumored to have been no more than 200 records originally pressed, making this one of the most sought 12 inches among collectors.

this latest installment in the stroboscopic saga once again calls upon the talents of two label veterans, both having released eps on the label while also contributing to its five-year retrospective series.
