samuli kemppi played live twice at suicide circus, and since his energetic sound really fit well with our club, we started talking to each other about a release on our dark series imprint. so here we go now, after releases on labels such as prologue, mote evolver and perc trax, samuli kemppi now is ready to rock your boat with three tracks on our label, which define a very particular sound of their own. last day on earth brings samulis apocalyptic vision to the dancefloors. dark hisses, well scaped spaces and a hookline with the pull of a spacecraft make up for a track that with no doubt will be one of the techno anthems of the next months. a killer of a track! on the b-side spacing has similar sound aesthetics as last day on earth, but comes along more playful whereas calling approaches the apocalyptic theme from a very different angle. bleepy synths over a banging beat let you think of laser shots in the dark, haunting and scary.

following on from big releases by the likes of cherie lee, the storming danse club records are back with another big house classic that comes complete with on point remixes from dutch tech house hero lauhaus, label bosses brodanse plus bass culture alumni john jastszebski whos version will be vinyl only. kalishas original is a classic house beat released on n sync inc back in 1992, but it still sounds hugely on point. with garage inflected beats, grainy, catchy percussion and pristine chord stabs it is an ebullient jam that brims with personality. the recognisable vocal samples help take it to the next level and mean it cannot fail to fill dancefloors everywhere. updating the track for modern listeners are the three remixes.

the next release on discovery recordings comes from catamaran, a young nyc based producer whos been coming to the parties and feeling the vibe. he sent us some really tite demos and we got in the studio to make them titer. the tracks are infused with the life of the city - from jackin house to lush rhodes grooves. we all love fort romeau, so we had him do a remix that takes the sound across the pond. 500 copies, hand stamped, vinyl only.

keeping up a high rate of release but just as high level of quality, the cinematic label turns to german dj, producer and exploration label boss johannes volk for its next ep, with a typically idiosyncratic remix from greek dub techno man xdb. volk has been producing conceptual techno since 2006, debuting with a fine ep on the revered axis label run by techno royalty jeff mills. since then he has continued to evolve on labels like steffis dolly as well as his own vinyl only imprint, and does so once again on this release.

next up on abdulla rashim s new imprint northern electronics - an ep from youngster acronym, four pieces of introvert techno with carefully layered atmospheres and a light in the end of the tunnel.

the release kicks off with title track find my way which features exciting young vocalist, ria morans heartfelt tones. cade opts for swinging 909 drums and a hooky bass-lick as the driving force, while morans voice sporadically eases in and out of the groove and understated chord stabs and tension building strings fuel the musicality, resulting in a classy, deep-house workout. up next is dr. fox, embracing a similar deep, contemporary house aesthetic, with saw-wave bass hits, cosseting pads and hooky vocal snippets acting as the fundamental elements of the cut, cade then plays on subtle variations in the groove throughout its near seven minute duration, to maintain an evolving dynamism and enticement. entering the latter half of the single we have ghostryder up first, cade opts for a more upfront approach this time, bringing busy drum programming to the forefront, alongside sweeping synth tones, a tom-driven bass line and dubbed out vocal licks.

miles sagnias british bastion of deepness, aer, returns with the life ep, which sees the label foray into fresh territory. tokyos tomi chair opens proceedings with a sharp piece of deep techno called sunstroke which is as uplifting as it is tough. si tappenden appears next under the newly established ourra alias, contributing the dawn acid driver marine morning which is an inspired piece of dancefloor poetry. finally rounding off the ep is miles sagnias ~elements~. after years of experience as one of the uks finest underground djs, sagnia is on point once again. a beautifully emotive track, that pulls on the heart strings and exhibits a serene gentility that works alongside the rhythm

dj rocca kicks off his new release with a bouncy, deep and machine driven track laced with occasional synth stabs and highlighted with simple but effective percussion. next up is a wonderful track weaving in out of a harmonic house theme and a synth heavy banger. this tune will definitely drop some jaws and raise some eyebrows on the dance floor with dancers mesmerized by the lightness with which rocca switches up the game in one tune. to finish up the ep the b-side serves up a house heavy theme with a slightly distorted vocal and a more psychedelic slow jam perfect for the next late-late session.

for the fourth r-zone, we serve up three more tracks of fizzing atmospheric house. first track exclamation is rough and rugged with rattling percussion hidden behind layers of grainy sci fi ambiance and the breathy exhalations of a male voice. nebulous pads and synths spiral around each other forming a dense layer of dust and next track march of the worms is even more militant. this one crawls deep below the surface where analogue machines carve out weird patterns, forming a truly knackered sounding house groove. finally, claustrophobic habits bangs a bit harder, its all splintered drums and coarse claps backed with a howling, gnarly groan and truly transports you to a sonic universe miles away from the norm.

autophobia ft. luna is the lead cut from louie frscos forthcoming debut album due early next year. it comes backed with a stunning remix from label bosses art department, their first mix in some time for the imprint and a real gem from the ever on-point production duo. also offered up is an equally interesting effort from eric volta and that is sure to take the versatile young producer to the next level.

calling in vocalist loes, felix moves from jazzy broken garage on third bouree through to driving atmospheric techno on fourth bouree. third bouree then gets remixed by felixs house alter ego frits wentink and mystery man gerry read, who delivers a loopy aural approximation of what a mental breakdown.

leading up to the release of their next album, tribazik return with the remx ep spacetime collapse, featuring remixes from such electronic royalty as venetian snares. tribazik are no newcomers to the spotlight. having supported influential post punk band killing joke on their european tour and having previously enjoyed reviews from rock sound, kerrang and terrorizer on their last album all blood is red, mixed by andy gill, of gang of four, the band are establishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with.
