some records are timeless and never age - -happiness is just around the bend- by the main ingredient is one of those records. originally released in 1974, -happiness- was a record before it s time - had it been released a year later it would undoubtedly have been one of the first 12- discs - so as a result, most discerning djs at the time chose to play the album cut. the song is actually a cover of uk prog-jazz band brian auger s oblivion express s version from the year before but main ingredient took the song to a whole new level and, 44 years later, it has become one of the most revered dance tunes of all-time. main ingredient were unlucky with 12- releases, which is why we re delighted to give -evening of love- it s first-ever 12- release! once again this was a 1981 album track which years later it would become a modern soul anthem and rightfully be regarded as one of their best records. fully remastered on limited edition 180 gram heavyweight vinyl.

this is the kind of idea that makes you enjoy the fringes of rap more than what�s in the spotlight. with that said, �broken mazes� sounds weirder on paper than it does in the headphones. gary wilson is an awesomely strange dude with some outré music under his belt, but for this project spekt wisely sticks with the more accessible sides of wilson�s catalog. it�s all breezy jazz-funk with some vague psychedelic touches for extra oomph, a wide-open feld for spekt to run his free-flowing bars. the result is relaxed and enjoyable, if at times a bit unfocused � kinda like a good open-ended improv session by a talented jazz band.

born in a remote log cabin deep in the scottish highlands, eventual reality, the debut album from the james l�estraunge orchestra melds jazz and electronic music sensibilities with a huge helping of heart and soul. in 2014 seasoned producer and musician ricky reid and his partner retreated from the city to embark upon a new life, in his own words �away from the constant, incoherent noise of the world�. as he set up his studio, the clean air and spectacular surroundings began to provoke musical inspiration like never before. then, like a scene from �field of dreams�, a series of talented musicians from his former life visited the cabin for a series of late night jamming and recording sessions, leaving behind them hidden treasures to be discovered and lovingly pieced together by ricky over the following months. with nostalgia so much a part of the album�s creation, the james l�estraunge orchestra can�t help but appear somewhat spectral, after all they are truly the band that never was.

forgot 001 is the debut release from london based record label forgot. the compilation is comprised of four tracks by four different artists: harry orso, aka ratomagoson, was last year picked up by gilles peterson�s future bubblers project and has gone on to drop a succession of well received releases on labels such as twosixtysix, polyop and tru thoughts. forgot residents hoffy and joe s both come from beat-making backgrounds while phillip russel aka pila boasts an impressive catalog of material online. since its release campaign launched earlier this year, the forgot 001 compilation has received a wealth of positive feedback from a number of revered and respected djs such as dom servini, adam scrimshire and david hanke aka renegades of jazz. the release gained considerable airplay during the summer: dom servini on soho radio, risha on radar radio, selassie tbc & amy frenchum on worldwide fm, toshio maatsura on tokyo moon and adam scrimshire on balamii radio.

i think i have never met anybody, with the exception of brazilian guitarists baden powell and toquinho, as connected to his instrument as agustín pereyra lucena � vinicius de moraes the words by bossa novas seminal poet vinicius seem fit as a good introduction to agustín pereyra lucena, the undisputed ambassador of brazilian music in argentina, and a revered guitarist since his early years. pereyra lucena became fascinated by brazilian music during the years of bossa nova, a sound that would define his career despite his later incursions in jazz and french impressionism. this passion led him to drop his architecture studies and become a full time musician, forging his own sound, befriending vinicius and toquinho and sharing stage with many of brazil�s greatest musicians. released in argentina as ese dia va a llegar in 1975, and the following year in europe as brasiliana, this was pereyra lucenas fourth album. a tasteful blend of covers and original compositions, the result is a thrilling bossa jazz album with a character of its own, and which also served as the starting point of guillermo reuters career, who would shortly after start his project candeias, with agustín pereyra lucena on guitar.

ernestas kau�ylas aka brokenchord is a music producer and composer born and raised in utena, a small industrial town in lithuania. kau�ylas was quickly picked up by black acre, releasing both a 7inch single and an ep, after an exclusive mix of his was aired on bbc radio one�s experimental showhosted mary anne hobbs in 2010.
endless transmissions is the brainchild of kau�ylas who single handily (bar two tracks) wrote and performed the entire album. the only collaboration was with jazz drummer, augustas baronas , who he encouraged to play as mechanically as possible. the lp pays homage to creativity and the ability topush the limits of technology with the physicalness of a human body. kau�ylas explains �machines that mimic human grooves is boring but the other way around it becomes quiet interesting�.
