on the flip, disco de moda, named after the johannesburg party with a decidedly digital disco bent, arps and chugs to robotic climax. finally, tidings are closed with the organic and synthetic, tied together in private life, a blend of flute and synth undulating to a psychedelic crescendo.

musicalitys second release is a remake of the gil scott heron b-side *the klan*, featuring allan barnes formerly of the blackbyrds, and craig huckaby. the a-side has a wind and keys driven retro-funkiness, aided by latin percussion. kemeticjusts remix on the b glues everything together into a slightly faster house-tempo, increasing the propulsion, and likely causing lively dancing to break out. it was mixed by pirahnahead at united sound systems, and mastered by the legendary herb powers. musicality is the brainchild of producer/dj seth dedikate carter.

elektra release of charlotte gainsbourgs third studio album titled irm. the title is derived from m.r.i, which reflects the medical procedure charlotte had to go through after suffering a head injury in a water skiing accident in 2007. the album is charlottes most personal to date, and is produced by acclaimed grammy nominated artist/multi-instrumentalist beck. what started as a brief recording session between charlotte gainsbourg and beck ended up to be the body of work that is irm. over the course of a year and a half of writing and recording together, becks role grew to encompass all aspects of the creative process. he worked seamlessly with charlotte co writing the lyrics and produced and mixed the recording.
