The series was started for artists that we think have been exploring and developing the outer reaches of acid house and techno. Previous artists who have contributed to the series include Torn Hawk, Jamal Moss as IBM (Insane Black Man), Dungeon Acid, Claire, Golden Teacher, TWINS, Tzu Sing and Tuff Sherm. For this one we have gathered together an exciting group who have really stretched out and contributed some outstanding trax.
First up is the Edmonton, Canada based producer Khotin who really caught our ears last year with his great 12"s and an amazing LP (originally released on tape by 1080p) called 'Hello World'. Here he brings us a real epic house tune ('Tsoi') which just builds up and up.
Finishing up the A side is Clan Destine regular Varg. Stockholm, Sweden based Varg has released a phenomenal amount of great music under different names on his own label Northern Electronics (run jointly with Abdulla Rashim) as well as others. We have released 2 great records of his icy ambient techno as Varg and Hypnobirds and D.A.R.F.D.H.S on Clan Destine. Here he increases the acid content with one of his most upbeat trax so far, 'Ultra Acid'.
Side 2 is opened by London based producer Kid Who. We have long been fans of Kid Who's productions as well as the releases on his label Bravura. Here he steps away from his normal sound with a heavy dancefloor smasher, 'Gap Related Injury'.
Closing the record is Glasgow-based duo Terminator, a collaboration between Toby Ridler (Becoming Real/Mourn) and Richard McMaster (Golden Teacher, General Ludd, Lovers' Rights, Tropics Of Capricorn, Silk Cut etc). The duo contribute an epic, percussive, acid-soaked rager ('Terminator') to round things up.
