june 2017, amsterdam, nl: it is with the utmost urgency that we report the conclusions of our experiments with controlled doses of 4-ho-met, codenamed st004.
as instructed, we met up with agent 23, who introduced us to the test subject– code name ben penn – who was ushered into the bunker for immediate testing. in order to observe his reactions, penn was injected with a modified dosage of 4-ho-met and locked inside with only and handful of electronic machines for company.
the subject immediately began acting strangely. it quickly became clear that 4-ho-met was increasing his capacity to produce music.
afterwards, penn was able to play us two audio interpretations of his experience. he was visibly shaken.

blend architect is a techno producer out of japan in the lineage of dj nobu or ken ishii. uncloud - his very first release - is composed by 2 movements with 2 variations each. cloud 1.1 sets the initial atmosphere for 1.2 to jump in and offer a more tense body that will play deeply with our intellect and physicality. an apparent minimal universe but full of subtle details. cloud 2.1 opens the b side with a futuristic high voltage cut. finally, cloud 2.2 brings the time back to present tense and the dance continues!

the broken glass is a work conceived and produced between austria and spain and represents the eleventh reference of the catalogue of stoerung label. in this collaboration field recordings and synthesis processed by asferico create cyclical and hypnotic structures, which mia zabelka furnishes with her violin and voice. the lp version consists of two versions of the piece, the first more minimalist and conceptual and the second more rhythmical and synthesizer based. through a display of distorted and isolated sounds, we are driven in the first version into an deep listening, as if sounds where placed under a microscope or we were contemplating them through a telescope. this approach lets us perceive the bare physicality of sounds in a way which enables us to grasp subtleties and aspects of sound which we are not used to. the second version continues where the first version left us, but in this piece, we are eventually flooded by hypnotic loops, white noise and synthesis and the experience has a different flavor. now what we have acquired through the first version, the enhancement of our listening and appreciation of subtleties of sounds, is inserted into a rhythmical structure which acts as a strong current, pulling us inside an ocean full of astonishing sounds.

here it is! some brand-new wax for your listening pleasure! the days are becoming longer, summer is just around the corner, and our latest release appears to perfectly embody the spirit of something new, something fresh, and something exciting. indeed, we’ve combined all this into a single 12” featuring the likes of satl & electrosoul system, and invadhertz. the release is all about good mood and chilled vibes, and virtually anything you can tag with the liquid label (if you really need to). but categories aside, our new twelve incher comes with a superb collab between satl & electrosoul system on one side, and with a solid track by the upcoming collective of invadhertz on the flipside. the former, entitled “satless”, is a warm, vocal-infused gentle roller that seems to be best enjoyed in the sunny days to come, while the latter, named “lily”, offers a nice combination of a bit rougher percussion section and booming bassline enriched with even more of vocal inserts. all in all, the whole single is a tasty treat for all those into the lighter side of drum & bass.

this time starts with label mate dakpa (rooted/sukhumvit) who brings a really rolling house track with great ambiances. a2 comes with in haus wax label boss tijn with a minimal chords house with great senses. b side arrives with our partner rickzor who builded a great old school house track full of groove. the release ends with label boss bolumar who brings another old school house feeling track.

right after we finished putting together our long sold out distant waves compilation back in 2014 we started working on volume ii.

we follow up our debut release by stl with a dancefloor oriented ep by scotsman cain. for those new to cain, a regular on highlife records (a sub-label of huntleys & palmers), you have been missing out. he’s known for fusing his love of traditional music from around the world with infectiously rhythmic drum pattern writing, stand-out melodies and futuristic bass work. and this release is no different. seeing as we are a record label based in the middle east, cain jumped on the opportunity to dig for arabic influenced drums and rhythms to build the ep around. the results are dope! and just in time for the summer season.

for anyone with their pulse on cutting edge music, neel is synonymous with quality. he s one half of the critically acclaimed duo, voices from the lake (with donato dozzy), and here he teams up with his studio partner, filippo scorcucchi. the pair present a project called lf58 (named after neel s mastering/recording studio in rome) for our latest instalment in the late night innominate series. three untitled ambient tracks all created with modular synthesizers, full of emotion and technical brilliance. also worth noting, side a is over 16 minutes of pure bliss!

medical records in collaboration with our friends at crispy nuggets blog are happy to reissue a very obscure australian gem from the 1980s. ironing music were a three piece band from brisbane. they originally formed in 1984 as a result of their collective love for new order, human league and eventually jean michel jarre and cabaret voltaire. comprised of bass and electic guitar, yamaha dx-7, melodica and an 808, they recorded a 12- single as their sole outpt in 1985 in a limited run of 250 copies (obviously excruciatingly rare now!). it was recorded in their bedroom studio with at teac 4 track. the video clip for the -hit- shopping bag women was played on several national and local television music shows. they also recorded demos in hopes of landing a lp deal which unfortunately didn t attract any takers at the time. they actually only played 3 gigs and were forced to disband after one of their members fell ill in 1986. the lp presented here included the original 4 track single as well as hand picked demos which nicely congeal to form a well rounded lp documenting the band s brief existence. they can best be described as lo-fi synth pop with an emphasis on excellent pop songs and interesting synth/instrument arrangements. the first track shopping bag women is infectiously catchy and just screams to be worn out in the club. fans of early to mid 80s synth pop and new romantic will fall in love. the tracks have been lovingly remastered by martin bowes at the cage, london. features original reproduction of the front cover painting. presented in a limited edition on 180gram vinyl.

dystopian dreams are often used by our minds to try out new, scary scenarios. they are the perfect playgrounds because they combine elements of our real world with speculative elements that do not exist in real life. viers gets to work on his own visions of dystopia, with this menacing 12” tripped with hidden spooks and monster pummel lines.

to follow the lucy remixes of the descent chapter i, we assembled a collection of our favourite artists to provide their interpretations of tracks from chapter ii. across the remixes, 4 totally unique creators have re built pact infernal parts into unexpected shapes, each one showing a new side to their talent, developed through re-molding the pact infernal sonic ingredients.
