on the leading edge of nycs underground music scene, vito ricci produced only a handful of self-­released cassettes and one lp between 1983-1985 with most of his work being recorded for experimental theatre and performance art pieces. taking their label name from vito riccis only lp, music from memory brings together a compilation of works by one of the unsung heroes of new yorks downtown music scene.

tuskegee music was launched in may of 2014 by seth troxler and the martinez brothers. as a label of cultural heritage the intention is to package up 90s-minded 12inchs that reach into the heart of paradise garage and shed a light on a fertile period of influence in dance musics history. now - a year on from its inception - seth offers up just back a brooding 2-track ep that demonstrates perfectly his ability to control tension to rapturous effect and finally satisfies the vehement anticipation bubbling between his peers with whats set to be seths biggest and most important record to date.

musicalitys second release is a remake of the gil scott heron b-side *the klan*, featuring allan barnes formerly of the blackbyrds, and craig huckaby. the a-side has a wind and keys driven retro-funkiness, aided by latin percussion. kemeticjusts remix on the b glues everything together into a slightly faster house-tempo, increasing the propulsion, and likely causing lively dancing to break out. it was mixed by pirahnahead at united sound systems, and mastered by the legendary herb powers. musicality is the brainchild of producer/dj seth dedikate carter.
