left to their own devises to pick what tracks to remix, the individuals own tastes came to the fore. the advent unsurprising opted for the twisted techno killer >eden acid< while cari lekebusch jumped at reworking the crazily tripped out >rz-fun< and alexi delanos low-slung mix of >nightdrive< is beautifully melancholic and deeply intense with fizzing percussion.

support by richie hawtin, m.a.n.d.y., andreas henneberg, kombinat100 and many more. featuring deep atmospheres and altogether slightly more electronic rhythms, the second part of the catchpenny & cosmos series rounds this double release off by an even greater variety of sound. just like its name implies, the dark tower hotel is a wondrous and mysterious place. upon intricate double bass chords and trippy synthesizer riffs, female singing from times long gone mixes elegantly into the hypnotic arrangement like a melodic leitmotif. in his remix, mollono.bass lives up to the last four letters of his name and delivers a rolling groove. the jaeger gains experience with acid, at least during the second part of this title which distinguishes itself by a minimal character and enigmatic wind instrument sounds. last but not least there is morgiana , a laid-back song that does not aim the dance floor. its catchy gypsy vibe, created by lots of classical instruments, reflects the remarkable compositional talent of be svendsen in a very entertaining way.

a-sdie: part 4 - funky bass really stands out on this track. cool synths, keys and an awesome groove from the percussion. big, big track!
b-side: dis yah one i love - heavy track with a garage feel to it. breezy synths tie it down but the real focus is on the percussion, the beat is tremendous!

all the hype around xilents skills at 140bpm should in no way overshadow his skills at other tempos. the dnb juggernauts of >spectre< and >multishapes< have been tearing up the clubs in the hands of those lucky enough to have the dubs, with dj hype and crissy criss also both dropping >multishapes< on their kiss and 1xtra radio shows. the single most exciting thing about this ep is the future possibilities for xilent. a star is quite possibly born.

when your debut dubstep track has a clip posted on the ukf dubstep youtube channel and it racks up over 500.000 plays in 2 weeks, people take notice. for xilent, this was exactly how his track >choose me ii< announced itself to the world. shortly after ukfs patronage (alongside subfocus dropping a beta version in a much blogged guest mix), zane lowe started playing the track on his radio 1 show and suddenly xilent is making an almighty noise.
