vanta series is the new series for killekill’s dancefloor music. the releases come in series, every series comes with a theme and one artwork which is being split in several parts to go with each release. the first series is called “the end is near” and features four records. it comes with an artwork by french visual artist elzo durt. vanta 003 comes from eomac under his alias eeoo. eeoo is a side project for what is, in eomac’s mind, straight up, techno-rave-house-jungle- disco influenced, dancefloor material. it draws influence from classic styles of dance music. less dense, less conceptual than the eomac-music. less focussed on texture and atmosphere, a more direct approach for sweaty ravers and moving bodies.

in iizuka them found a common ground: based in hokkaido, japan, iizuka does not share the same london influences, yet shares their base values and thrust. common themes of his sound involve broken and syncopated beats, and a rave energy. this is what lead him to being the first and prime them stable artist. voodoo ep showcases this breadth of iizuka’s style, from tracks that could easily fit into any grime set, such as primitive acid, to the more melodic tones of floating point, in which hiroaki guides them into previously untrodden ground for the imprint.

moscow records close 2016 with a fantastic 3-track ep from berlin imports roustam and tolga fidan. this being their first outing together, the pair deliver a high quality, intelligent journey through minimal house and techno. the record opens with brodsky beat, a groovy, dance floor-focused track. lively percussion and tight bass communicate perfectly with the hope-filled lead to build tension throughout. the omega variant on the a2 has a much more abstract feel. broken beats and skippy percussion play back and forth with deep, spacey hooks and a peculiar synth, giving the listener a sense of mystery. finally, growing up is just a phase is a calming 14 minute trip that uses the entirety of the b side to tell a story of reassurance and calm. laid-back rhythms, guitar samples, relaxed vocals and a wandering synth line work together to form the perfect warmup track.

different worlds music group/fat beats are thrilled to announce the lp and cassette release of the latest album from skizz (dj skizz), “cruise control,” which is skizz’s 2nd official producer-album. over the last couple years, skizz has been working extensively with your old droog, both producing and mixing his music, helping to propel the career of the young mc from coney island. he has also been touring with droog, making beats for other noteworthy artists, and helping start a new label, different worlds music group. this will be the 2nd official release from dwmg, with the first being timeless truth’s critically acclaimed “cold wave” album released this past february. “cruise control is a progression for me sonically,” says skizz. “this album takes you from where b.q.e. left off- it’s still that raw boom-bap, but this album is a bit more laid-back and melodious. it just feels good, like you’re cruising with your lady and the cool breeze is blowing through your hair!” skizz recruited a mix of veteran og mcs (o.c., planet asia, roc marciano, evidence, etc) as well as up-and-comers (your old droog, conway, hus kingpin, da villins etc.) to provide a sonically cohesive album that is set to be the official hip-hop soundtrack for the summer of ’16.

after a considerable career releasing on numerous labels, as well as being co-founder of essen based label mild pitch, langenberg finally drops his first album under this alias. max heesen, (who is also one half of ribn with manuel tur) delivers the smartly titled central heated house for steve bug’s dessous recordings. the lp format suits langenbergs hypnotic house classicism well, allowing time and space to stretch out the grooves and moods over four sides of vinyl working both for the djs and perfect as a soundtrack for the autumn. the lp kicks off with jade, a melancholic, tape saturated introduction to langenbergs deep tastes. room 210 maintains this atmosphere, with fizzing percussion and warm detroit-esque melodies. groove 26 is perfectly timed for the hot summer, as lush rhodes chords and kdj style vocal snippets provide the heat for the openair vibes. the single from earlier this year shadows features the talents of vocalist blakkat, and caused some serious response when it hit airwaves and dancefloors alike. never worry is a heads down roller, built around a simple but perfectly executed bassline, while dreamliner is trippy laidback sunshine house all the way. ill be late and planitz proposal step back into the club, with langenbergs signature crisp percussion, crunchy hits and analog synth wizardry on full display. rain & roses closes out the album in a similar way to how it started wistful, thoughtful house music with soul.

we are truly excited about this releaseas we have been fans of vendi s work for quite some time now. the reflection of great cities of barcelona where he started experimenting with electronic music and berlin where he is currenty residing is palpable. the passion for producing great music has been recognised by the heavyweights like raresh and jamie jones to name but few. here at hoxton records we are very proud to have him on our 4th release. this one is definitely going to be proudly hanged on the wall (after being played a million times of course)
