label owner donga met blake when both djd at brightons forward thinking drum n bass night carbon spinning similar shades of the deeper end of dubstep. this lead to the idea of hooking up in the studio, and whilst initial experiments at 140bpm were promising, it wasnt until they decided to lower the tempos to housier speeds that their sound clicked into place. this sound is a balanced fusion of soulful house, deep textured techno and rhythms absorbed from garage, funky and broken beat. these 3 immaculate tracks have a simple appeal but also contain many layered sonic details for the closer listener.

royal oak with futuristic house sounds from one of hollands longest running house producers gerd. some gorgeous warm rhodes driven tracks with interstellar melodies. two tracks that sound like a stream of fresh air. friendly fire has an incredible drive with its warm rhodes chords and a deep sub bass. unique track that gives the traditional house ingredients a twist. vibration on the flip (which is actually a studio jam with the friendly fire parts) goes in a slightly slower house pace and is combines bleepy melodies with a deep powerful drive that reveals its nature once played out loud.

truly beautiful deep house records are things to be treasured, akin to proper songs that will last the test of time, not made to meet a fleeting fad. this is one of those records and a real pinnacle & departure for blm & pawas. although the term deep is an oft overused one, >waiting game< personifies the genres true key traits with a subtly moving groove that gradually builds, using layers of subtle percussion and a rich, warm synth motif to make a rich tapestry of sounds before finally introducing the beautiful female vocal that gives the track its name. patrice scott liked the track so much that he agreed to remix it - his first ever outside of his own, excellent, sistrum label. using plenty of the original track parts but taking it a different direction, patrice really has come up with something special. the track moves along with snippets of the main vocal and clever use of the main synth, the groove being underpinned by patrice s classic sense of production before moving into a more classic >detroit< ending - a mindset with a bigger, more dramatic sensibility

the italian giussepe tuccillo who now lives in ibiza still remembers when as a child he heard patty pravo singing at the san remo festival. the impression made on him by the italian diva was so great that he decided to dedicate a tribute to her most important song, la bambola, by making a remix using the original parts of the original recording.

dj tasaka is the busiest, known as mix master of japanese techno scene, he mixes techno, minimal, house, disco, electro any records, any genre he feels like.
appeared on mueller records already in 2000 with his mix cd and received lots of attentions followed by many successfull gigs such as mayday, love parade and other well known events and clubs in germany and europe. during the last years he spend his time producing trax with japans top dj takkyu ishino and started a major cooperation with the upcoming big talent kagami. grown up in the regend club yellow ,he belongs to the solid parts of japans techno and house scene and therefore became a resident dj on asia s the biggest indoor festival >wire<.
right now in this very moment he presents newest solo album on berlin s straight techno classic label muller records. he established a reputation by own unique style of mix with tricky scratches, he can make up peek point in the floor, this needs to be mentioned definetely.this album you will find already in the cases of laurent garnier, frank mueller , cocoon djs and many others.

the one-two kick drum beat that starts “in the dark of the night” functions as a bit of a tease. instead of merely establishing the languid pace of the track, it has the power of suggestion, and its stark nakedness raises the question of what will happen after the music fully launches. a few seconds later, a punch-drunk, flanging keyboard is the first clue that the listener is in for an off-kilter ride, the sauntering bassline that next appears adds a springy, funk bounce. but it’s the tripped-out, multi-tracked vocals of fernando miranda rios, aka michoacan, the producer behind this slow reveal, that give the song its peculiar, space-yvibe. it’s like david byrne with funk aspirations and a vaguely cosmic feel. the b-side remix, courtesy of italy’s clap rules, feels like more of a re-build. the song has been taken apart and put back together with brand new parts. instead of more relaxed, dazed funk at the core, it’s a glittery, disco-ball splattered track with glossy keys all around.

the return of putsch 79! after their big momentum a couple of years ago the guys have been busy remixing and producing others. after been out of the music scene for some months doing some fishing and catching butterflies in the northern parts of finland they are back with a big bad disco monster! comes with a possibly even a bigger alden tyrell disco monster remix as we haven t heard from him in a while! peak time material!

well ok, no rule without exception... this beautiful joint from johannes albert is a little web 2.0 fairy-tail: the white rookie & cratedigga no. 1 moomin found a youtube clip of a dj hammering a super-deep, rough piano track in a club in the german city of paderborn. he didnt know the track, so he sent the dj a mail asking and a few mails later, the tracks from johannes were blowing away mr. offermanns ears. so the labelhead decided to make this the next white. of course first of all johannes & oskar had to meet a few times to make sure they understand each others vision well and after a few meetings they eventually became friends. so the labels movement towards the direction of house is continued by this release. wooden pearls is pure housemusic to the core. very wooden & grounded in the lower spectrum and crystal clear up in the sky. these very honest and timeless tracks tell us a story. the story of johannes alberts passion for house. since he was 15 years old, he is a fan. from the german franconia he follows house throu his local recordstore >swing king<

supported by kollektiv turmstrasse, kombinat1000, someone else!! matching the cold season in northern europe, acker records extends its collection with a beautiful just as functional ear warmer. designed by the gents carsten rausch and ferdinand laurin from the city of trier, this acoustic accessory convinces in even four aspects. on the one side, the warm sounds of shout can be found, a really inspiring track that develops certain trancy qualities with its throughout melodic character and some pretty trippy delay experiments. after that, the pleasant boost is taken up by quattrow, here the anyway outrageous groove of the lower frequency spectrum is raised to the stakes by a casual and housey motive. this track is redesigned by the dudes of rundfunk3000 on the other side, they serve it on crunchy and highly energetic rhythms and spice it up with their typical, playful instrumental entries. finally, the tribe is also pretty much straight forward and again scores with warm feel-good sound that dives into intoxicating depths.

original mix kicks off with broken rhythms, crunchy and industrial like, with a heavy synth line approaching till sweeping drones and abstract textures bring to an epic breakdown that will sure destroy more than one bass speaker. another energetic piece of intelligent dance floor techno.

the choice of anja schneider for remix duties was an obvious one, the pair first met on a shuttle bus to an event and in short stead paul was co-writing for anja, becoming part of the driving force behind her huge debut album ‘beyond the valley’, now she pulls out all the stops to reciprocate with this standout reworking.
first up on the package is the anja schneider remix of ‘three weeks’, the opening cut from paul’s recent album. here the pair, deconstruct the parts and rebuild things into a deep and hypnotic version that has instant dancefloor appeal stamped all over it. solid, chunky drums rub up against simple spacey synth lines and warm pads to huge effect. bearing in mind the superb quality of the original this is a job well done, and a real addition to this great package.
next we have the original of ‘three weeks’, a track named after the extensive time it took to record. paul had originally intended to record the album in 6-8 weeks, then ended up spending nearly half of his allocated time on this opener. but it has to be said it was worth the effort. this is a slice of solid tech inspired house with subtle vocal elements and a musicality that cuts through the records club based nature. excellent stuff.
finally we have diamant flute, another winner from the ‘me, myself and live’ album. deep and highly engaging this again displays paul outstanding talents as a producer, weaving melodic elements deep into the mix and retaining an incredible underground electronic sound.

c5, omen: doesnt really need much on an introduction, the famous track gets funked up, flipped over and goes flat out for a twisting and turning journey through the well known parts of the original and then bangs on from there in true c series style.

minimal music has the reputation to create alot of little. alexander pavlenko, a talented producer from ukraine, is here to change all that and even raise the bar while he is at it! you cant deny this young mans skills for production and minimalism, no cheesy lines, no blips and blobs that we all heard a 1000 times allready. >carbon black< is one of those tunes you will instantly remember.. it sounds so crispy, so clean, so... pavlenko.. and it sticks inside your head like chewing um sticks to your hair.. the flip is no different. on >error 99< pavlenko keeps the drive a bit lower but the effectiveness is immense. dark vibes combined with even darker basslines make this one error you cant call the helpdesk for.

seth troxlers panic, stop. repeat! ep brings together all facets of the young berlin-via-detroit producers notoriously brilliant/bizarre persona, offering two new tracks (and one house-y remix) of sweaty, ecstatic dance music with a dirty mind and a heart of gold. >panic, stop. repeat!< uses its titular command as a guiding principle, eroding its own immaculate facade through a series of anxious freakouts. the track rolls along like a freight train with aloose screw-designed for precision and speed, but with mechanical parts that constantly jiggle free and whiz off into the stratosphere. as a leathery kick drum and a wickedly simple two-note bassline keep the pace, >panic, stop. repeat!< takes a series of surreal detours involving an ekg machine, a ladys feverish coos, and one particularly old-school sci-fi synth. next up, troxler melds minds with matthew dear on the collaborative >hurt<, a sexy beast of a track featuring bone-dry drum machines, a huge lead tom-tom, and dears terrifyingly deep spoken-word musings. paco osunas remix of >panic, stop. repeat!< rounds out the ep with an exhilarating take on troxlers original, building a subversive house creeper around panics heavy-breathing leading lady.

westpark unit (aka herb lf & ingo saenger) are back with their annual release on farside records after some work for labels like dessous, tjumy, future classic or fear of flying. this time, they provide 4 brandnew trax for the vinyl edition. more forever might be familiar to a few people that followed the music of westpark unit over the years. the tune is a special rework of their first ever limited 12inch release forever back in 2002 on draft recordings. more forever took some of the original deep harmonies, keeps parts of the piano loop and the beautiful sampled hook and should be a soulful bomb on the 2009 floors. even deeper 45 grows and grows with a very intensely chord, takes you on a trip with its driving bassline and is the other dubby deep house tune here. the first demo version received some nice feedback / chartings / plays from djs like dplay, matt flores or shur i kan. while speaking of house (not house), jam hot and familiar sequence are musically caught somewhere in between the styles. jam hot might be more funk than house with sexy 104 bpm, is bouncing like hell and keeps the crowd shaking and moving. familiar sequence appeals to the disco fanatics out there, has a little of a balearic vibe and is also keeping things slow. both tunes are the perfect startup into the night. we think this is the right tempo for party anyway.

we are very proud to announce that fluxions new 12 inch will be released on echocord + an upcoming full-lenght album later. greek artist fluxion (aka konstantinos soublis) first presented his style of dub-influenced techno through a series of 12 inches and albums on the berlin label chain reaction, starting with lark / atlos in 1998. he then released a handful of 12 inches, which ended up in the two vibrant forms releases. in 1999 he created the vibrant music label.fluxions first 12 inch release on echocord titled >inductance<, is what the title implies. it is an escalating reaction between sound and flowing particles, a dance infusion. two deep dub club tracks that with a strong movement feel, and sublime atmosphere, characteristic of his productions. >inductance<, always changing, with a strong dubby platform and elements moving and shifting on top, living the listener wanting more, despite the 8 and so minutes. a deep listening track straight for the dancefloor. >elation< is a more atmospheric track creating strong emotions, in a more suttle way. a climax of sounds and harmonics that carries the listener, to a higher emotional state. the rythmical dub base alongsibe repetitive melodic parts complete the picture of a unique listening.
