kevin arnemann and daan kemps taped artifact label clocks up its fourth release with a three track offering from outlaw rec boss and key part of the italian serendipity club, namely matthew oh. matthew has previously released on his own label and others like side off, and eloquently marries dub, techno and house into smooth and sensuous sonic landscapes. the opening track psycho hub is an atmospheric and spacious roller with dubbed out drums and pads, coupled with incendiary hi hats urging you along. shroud is seven minutes of slick and spaced out deep techno with liquid synths and clacking hits all racing along and making for a frictionless groove that sucks you right in. finally, get in the fridge slows the tempo down and becomes an even more widescreen and roomy roller with suspensory pads, smeared synths and aqueous sonic details that make you feel like you are floating in sound.

the crate-digging credentials of psychemagik’s danny mclewin are well established. even so, he’s excelled himself with the first release on spacetalk, a joint venture with leng records’ simon purnell and paul murphy.
the trio have successfully worked together a lot over the last five years, with purnell and murphy releasing a string of superb collections, compiled by mclewin and psychemagik partner tom coveney. all three men were keen to continue this partnership, and have founded spacetalk to re-release long forgotten, little-known or overlooked music, as well as previously unheard archive material from some of the artists involved.
the label’s first release is as obscure as they come. morrison kincannon’s to see one eagle fly is stupidly rare, having initially been released by its’ creators as a private press record during the early 1970s.

the last sound carrier was based around the notion of intrepid intergalactic explorers trying to get to earth, this time we’re taken 10.000 leagues below the surface to trawl the deep sea. all the way down there, we experience increased pressure, sub-zero temperatures, darkness and previously undiscovered new worlds. up first we have ‘lactarius indigo mission’, which has a distinct urgency and ‘in-your-face’ bitch slap percussion. the bassline writhes under a variety of squelchy, bleepy effects, which add a layer of depth and the whole thing feels quite electro. after that *from the space to the sea* continues the electro vibes with more punchy beats, a rugged b-line and heavyweight kicks. carriers use of quirky details give this track a unique character and contagious energy.on the other side we are treated to another strange carrier creation, the laidback kepler 22b. named after the first known planet to orbit a sun within what’s known as a habitable zone, kepler 22b could well support life. the track is serene and full of optimism, a fitting soundtrack for a distant earth-like planet. minimal workout * diver level 1000* closes the ep with its unusual arrangement and simple yet deadly programming. another addition to the impressive sound carrier catalogue and perhaps its most leftfield so far

after jumpsteady’s tour de force feature on tom dice’s falling off (previously available on don t bite records), he returns with a lyrical workout. an extended metaphor on slippery reptilian foes, he pulls no punches in this characteristic onslaught, consistent since his debut feature on crack the mike by dynametrix in 1994. if you like raw beats and raw rhymes, this one is for you. there will only be 150 of these available for sale, so get one quick - the perfect antidote to deadly snakebites.

technosoul .03 comes from blazej malinowski, who has previously released on swedish phorma and canadian silent season amongst others. “mika” and “open closed open” might serve as blazej s sound signature – deeply rooted, hypnotic techno with a trance edge, which works both on the dancefloor and in comfort of one s home. remix number one comes from the legendary british dj and producer steve bicknell, whose take on “mika” is raw and very dense at once – it serves as the most brutal piece of music on the release. remix number two comes from “the mad ukrainian” stanislav tolkachev, whose vision strikes as a real surprise. instead of his usual beats stampede, he has provided the record with a beautiful, ethereal offbeat techno: this won t probably work as a peak time monster, but with a proper audience, it will have a mesmerizing effect!

the third ep of the trilogy works following the releases d6&d7 from sundance in 2012 and flying one hand from op.disc in 2015 comes this one. a) side is the unreleased dub version of the previously released same titled track. b) side is the fine interweave of radiqs percussion + fumiyas base/beat groove with soul vocals. the sound is different from the style of dirtriix works and the each has its distinctive own groove.

six years after his mila ep, uk techno artist lee renance, better known as 100hz with james chapman, is finally back on bosconi with another strong 3 tracker release called -circles-, a combination of very sought-after gems and reworks of old tunes: the record begins with the gentleness of the groovy and jazzy vibe of that mega rare undergound deep anthem named -shoot the bar-, a track originally out in 1998 on pacific records which many people have been probably waiting since long time for a repress, while on b side the artist presents himself under one of his more obscure aliases as mr format, going trough more voodooish and hypnotic dub techno territories with a pitched down version of primary colours track, an undiscovered and carefully crafted secret weapon previously released on his own imprint format records. last cut of the record is a totally renovated version of the track oliva out in 2009 on the greatest french logistic records. in this new version , “oliva funk” epic strings and pads merge with compelling and engaging beats creating a levitating effect which drive the mind and the mood of the dancefloor into dreamy soundscapes. you ll make it yours.

doublet is the production moniker of friends and musical partners tomoki tamura and tuccillo, previously releasing together on other labels, they have come together to form the new eponymously named doublet imprint as a channel for their own music which is vinyl only. tomoki and his holic trax label have long been serving up solid house music...

the japanese producer shu okuyama has previously released his music from the labels like milnor modern, minimood, also with his another name, ragout de lapin from compost records. now he sets up his own label komabano oscillation lab with its first release kellnerthought ep. 2 tracks with shuffled beats and bass with his funk mixed with unique voice samples and jazzy feeling synth.

having previously used their dnuos ytivil offshoot to release material from their nearest and dearest (think batu, bruce, hodge and alex coulton), bristol’s livity sound crew turns to unknown french producer simo cell. the two tracks showcased here are a rather fine introduction to this newcomer, with opener “piste jaune” offering a clandestine blend of stuttering electro bass, discordant analogue percussion hits and spooky electronics. the mystery man goes for the jugular on “cellar door”, with pitched-down, bleep style melodies and liquid electronics riding an off-kilter, broken techno groove. another fine livity release.

rose records co-founder martin hayes makes his solo debut on razor-n-tape with 4 tracks of down-n-dirty disco and soul! having previously collaborated on a more production-centered ep on rnt reserve, hayes shows us his penchant for digging and slicing up the dustiest of grooves.

derrick carters seminal sound patrol album originally released in 1994, * sweetened - no lemon*, will see a re-release in january 2016. the alias provided a place for carter to explore deeper and sometimes more atmospheric styles. the sound patrol record originally came out via chicagos organico label, while derrick carters own arts & labour is handling the reissue. the triple vinyl re issue adds four new unreleased tracks. the whole album has been re mastered for 2016. this follows a limited edition sampler 12 inch released in 2015 which contained another 2 unreleased tracks.
