the remixes come from prominent producers around europe, so starting chronological from a2 to b2: sian has appeared on a lot on raves and parties with his surf board. he is an international traveller who loves to be reminded of the times when surfing farmers left their houses with door frames and no doors. his remix works in a way a countdown functions. building up tension at an incredible speed, this track is set out to explode... but sian would not be sian if he had not developed a club friendly torture . sian rides the wave of superfatt basslines and adds a sequence that sounds as if someone had replaced his teeth with thin pieces of metal, creating a humming voice comparable to one of a jaws harp. sian keeps the tension going with very few elements and shows he is a true masterof techno.
secret cinema has been accompanying us since his first releases mid of the 90ies and we truly believe quality prevails, not to mention his mayor chart hit just 3 months ago with “shake ur tech-ass”. well secret cinema is unbelievably massive in his production. we dont see how anyone can fatten up the sound more than he can. but it is not only about tuning and pimping and pimping and tuning... his remix is a masters piece of perfectionbecause it creates something rare... deep emotional hydraulic strength. this is like diving head on into a pool of silicone and getting sucked into it. this track has an hypnotic feel to it that is comparable to radiohead.
darko esser is an icon in the techno scene of the netherlands. his remix takes the track in to a direction you would not expect it could go to. starting rather minimal darkos remix soon takes a turn and brings in jack elements and cool nostalgic melodies that will warm the heart of every detroit techno lover. was it derrick may who played chords like this... these strings are looked up in the back of our heads like childhood memories of having your first popcycle exploding in your mouth. this is soulful music with just enough analogue imperfection and warmth to it.

it was only a short time ago when these 2 young up and comers made their respective debuts on our label and in the few months between then and now, they have gone on to skyrocket up through the ranks, conquering dancefloors, charts and dj crates-while becoming household names synonymous with quality and consistency.
florian kruse and nils nürnberg need very little introduction these days but for those that have been asleep or living under a rock, a good start would be to check their recent output on fine labels such as nrk, om, moodmusic, dessous and our very own dieb, to name a very select few. their first combined effort on the label has resulted in the >suerte ep<, a tight collection of deep as hell, tech infused house numbers heavily characterized by their attention to groove and addictive, seductive chord progressions that have become a hallmark of their production prowess.
to add some spice to an already sterling and stylized package, we have enlisted our good friend (and also mood music alumnus) alexander maier, to remix the titular >suerte< where he adds his considerable musical vocabulary to the proceedings, peppering a very tasty arrangement with piano chord stabs and throbbing basslines resulting in a gorgeous, summery house re-interpretation that has to be heard to be believed!
as if this werent enough, fresh from an impressive debut on nils and florians save room records we have been lucky enough to secure a percussion led, funk infused remix of >achieving balance< from bright new boys on the block io who round things off nicely and add another dimension to the >suerte ep<.

time for celebration! its been a long time since magnus international comitted anything to vinyl (kosmetisk/fp06 a good 3 years ago) with the exception of his remix for yrds afterski. undulat has been revealed in plenty of different disguises at previous full pupp nights but as magnus himself is too slow and lazy to wrap things up i gave it a good chopping here and there, voila! mandass morran blus is what it is, a beautiful piece of music... a taster of good things to come. on the b side we introduce new kid on the block, marius circus. friend and regular punter at our full pupp nights marius fights for musicians rights as a lawyer in gramo (no, google it fool...), djs around bars in oslo at night while slowly honing his production skills.

little dragon return with a spectacular second album offering in august, a pulsating electro pop epic that prince would be proud of (only fronted by a beautiful swedish lady with a sultry voice). a bold and surprising side/two step onwards from their self titled debut, released two years ago to great acclaim especially among specialist circles. machine dreams, with its nagging hooks and gloriously infectious tunes, should finally see the band break out into the mainstream.

foog is a new project of japanese veteran house music producer yukihiro fukutomi. yukihiro released the new single on mule musiq (cover of marshall jeffersons >open our eyes<!) under the own name few month ago, it was played by michael mayer, cassy. foog have already released two album in japan (only) and some of the track have been supported by carl craig, loco dice and name a few. this foog new single is a first single cut from the upcoming new album which will be released in feb or march 2010. a side >nino< is a dark experimental deep house. b side >manya< is a hi-tec detroit techno style!

>realtime art< - that s how blackisbeautiful call their electronic music art. an analogue idea within the digital age. inspired by the aesthetics of analogue music devices, the first album of the dortmund-based producer team will be released in september via the upcoming cologne-based techno label 200. blackisbeautiful partnered up at the vrstck club in dortmund two years ago. they bonded through their deep connection to analogue art. residency atvrstck and a musical and friendly collaboration were to follow. both look back at long-term musicianship and life experience. while tim dicke paved his way into the electronic scene through being a drummer, bassist and soloartist in punk and hardcore bands and later on as dj, Ümit han quickly moved from djing to producing his own tracks. in 2006, Ümit won the remix contest to gabriel anandas >glücksmelodie< and also released tracks on karmarouge, meerestief, harthouse and other labels. blackisbeautiful created two tracks in real handicraft with alerion and purpur: mesmerizing and enthralling at the same time! music that invites you to dance and yet puts you to rest for a closer listen. attention to detail and experiment-happiness get you addicted to blackisbeautiful: occasional street recordings of sounds in everyday life and sampling of snap-shots run through their dynamic sound images.

francesco baudazzi, aka obtane, quitquitequick and sammy bellafonte was born 27 years ago in la spezia, a city of north italy. with his new label project zooloft he got positive feedbacks from people like andre crom, staffan linzatti, arnaud le texier. frankie, mossa, matt tolfrey, todd sines and the first zooloft release is supported by magda and troy pierce. future stuff under different monikers on new german label bretzel, equilibria records, synewave and leftroom’s sublabel left of centre.

remerge started in early 2007 and quietly set the precedent for the current old skool influenced recordings. initially, the concept was to re-interpret old rave records and rebuild the samples into modern day hardcore classics. over the last two years, the series has slowly come to it s logical conclusion with two original recordings, which retain the essence of æ92, but remain relevant to the sound of 09. amenyall is produced by dj wasp, a pseudonym for one of the most revered and consistent producers of electronic music over the last 16 years. expect the usual formula to be broken, crushed and recompiled into something truly unique. >wasp< described it as >the track i wanted to make 15 years ago< and we are really proud to be able to release it. >terror overdrive< by agt rave cru is on the flipside and is without question, one of the toughest, most manic records you re likely to hear all year. wild stabs, full juno hoover workouts, ruff breaks and one of the greatest intros to a track ever, this really is the real deal.

so the story goes: a few years ago i played a cool underground party in stockholm with my good friend and crazy record collector mark seven. early on that night mark played me this beautiful and melancholic piece of music. mark happily handed me his spare copy and my record collection for a second felt a little more complete… originally released as a b side track to als slipshod ep on out of the loop the track continued to mesmerize whenever i played it and the fact that so many people loved it and equally as many didnt know the record i though a re release could be a great idea. its inclusion on gerd jansons recent sonar kollektiv compilation and the fact that its been played by legendary dj harvey ( o bearded one as hes known to by the initiated) has obviously helped to spread its fame to. the previously issued part 1 with the original and bogdan irkük remixes has gone down a storm with all the cool movers and shakers... oh yeah baby. now its time for the last chapter with equally mindboggling gatto fritto remix, mark sevens version and my own just plain silly rework. toodle oooo, thomas(oslo, 7th of august 2009)

roxour is proud to present fresh music from r-04, a very talented mid 20 boy from downtown tokyo. for r 04 things started about 10 years ago when testing out his first syntheziser. from japanese fascination of composing and living game music soon he was fascinated by the magic of detroit techno. aside from that, he plays on the grand piano with that jazzy - and funkyness of an early stevie wonder. r-04s music is reflecting the city where he comes from. he says many tall inorganic buildings and night scene always inspire me. his first official release gazing at the moon is somewhere between jazz and techno. its a kind of tribute to the so called chu shu no meigetsu convention, the autumn time in japan, when no one can ignore the beauty of the big shiny full moon. also i composed this track meaning that we had better keep emotional leeway to enjoy the full moon no matter how busy we are. patrick alavis ace remix is turning the jazz and detroit techno rooted original into a deep roller.

arrestar, hailing from brussels, is the second belgian artist releasing on token. he sent me this killer idm/techno track some time ago and it was immediately a favourite of mine. i fell in love with it the moment i heard it. in the end, it just needed a release. im not the only supporter of this track: inigo kennedy, oscar mulero & grovskopa love it too, so they decided to contribute with each another interpretation of the track, which in the end results in a diverse package.

urban nomad tolga fidan continues vakants limited series valt with a much sought-after track which has been around for a while. fidan, just moved to berlin a few weeks ago, says >so long paris< in such unique style that that we hope he will never leave berlin again. vakants valt series has been kicked off last year with onur Ízer and keeps on delivering music straight for the dancefloor.

alan fitzpatrick is a producer who has been making everyone sit up and take notice since his first appearance on the scene a little over 18months ago. with various outings on fergies excentric music label, and his own 8 sided dice imprint and forthcoming records on the seminal bedrock records, alan is without doubt the rising star of dance music with his cross genre sound. and if that wasnt enough here is the first outing on adam beyers mighty drumcode! adam, who is unbelievably fussy and purveyor of nothing but absolute quality, snapped up this two tracker instantly – a testament to alans awesome sound. both >statix< and >rubix< are earthshakingly good. both hard and funky, but at the same time extremely versatile, and will be excellent mixing tools and big records in ther own right. the kind of records that never leave the box. get it..

the 2nd ep vinyl preview of the highly anticipated italoboyz full length bla bl bla (out in september) on mothership. not everyone is aware that both marco and fede migrated north to london from italy several years ago. this move has influenced their sound, hence the where is london? ep this ep also marks the start of their new live instrumentation work. where is london draws its title from a big ben sample put in reverse, but it also features experimental live piano work (piano strings struck with paper mallets) re-twisted into their addictive drum patterns. on the other side, lanagramme features salvador dalis voice and the interesting dual piano work of their good friend angelo. italoboyz are always pushing the boundaries and testing the limits of traditional dance-floor music and this is no exception.

sometimes a track is so hot it just has to come back around again. about ten years ago brett johnson and dave barker (stucco homes) wrote some unbelievably catching house tunes, one of them being temptation and lies. so it just seemed right to give this track yet another life. deadbeat and mike shannon dive deep into a stripped down techno groover, removing the constant use of the vocals and creating a rolling techno dub version. some seriously deep bass in the production that works the subs in all the right places. ernesto ferreyra and guillaume coutu dumont aka chic miniature give you a playful melodic version on the flip. full use of the original chord progressions, combined with the guys signature marimba/latin percussion leaving you with a lush, warm summer hit. then brett dives into the track again giving you the oohs and ahhs mix. a ten minutes work out with bjs patented groove focused on the vocal harmonies in the original. the result is a warped, spaced out, long player that is sure to twist a few heads. mental just about sums it up. of course we had to include the original masterpiece for those who didnt find it the first time round. a favorite of everyone involved on the remix project i think youll agree that the temptation and lies cynosure mixes do the original some justice.

the make up the break up is the first release on bruno pronsatos own thesongsays label. its the longest track in his catalog (38 minutes), and an even deeper excursion into his stylized harmony. this track was originally a track uncompleted while making, æwhy cant we be like us. revisiting it roughly a year ago, bruno began to reword it. what began as simple attempt to create an ep track out of it became a monster. what monster you ask? in a few words, the monster that is brunos love of musicality and sound design. muscially speaking, we are on a ride somewhere between a slithery house track and a drugged out night out in chelsea, new york in the 60s - and thats a good thing because we get the entirety of the ride: the ups, the downs, the clouded mentality, the broken heart and perhaps the mended one. its happy, its sad - its something that you can dance to, but most importantly, its music that we think you can revisit for many years, as it somehow reflects us, our lives. a playful and extended journey through love and disaster, or at least the soundtrack to it.

after the successful >srange days ep< leased on deep explorer music a few months ago, dubbyman & above smoke are now delivering the second part ep on the well respected dpress industries label, home of artists like nacho marco, tony blunt and pablo bolivar. dpress is the label where both deep explorer capos always wanted to put some stuff out as they have been supporting the label since the early beginning. on a side, dubbyman produces a soulful moodymannûesque track called >reen sunday<and rick wade (harmonie park, rush hour) works out a dubby and functial house remix. on b side, above smoke comes with >owntown< a warm and deep house track with some jazzy vibes, while ivan murias (thump elektroniks, inout records) is welcome to the label making a great rework of the track using some vocal samplers and showing us some good and deep manners, summer anthem for the deep lovers

a carl craig production!!! here is the 1st extract taken from night music, etienne jaumet new album to be released end of september. etienne is the keyboard player of zombie zombie. this man is breathing music. you have to catch him live to see how involved he is in his music. almost possesed. when i heard his album a while ago, i asked carl craig to make some production, which he accepted and made a job above our expectations! he pushed the level of psychadelism to the max! entropy is one of them. cosmic dark obssesive - a meeting between ashra temple, can and liaisons dangeureuses. tr 808, vintage synths...lets go for a ride... for the remix, christian vance, an australian producer who released recently a brillant track on rippertons label perspectiv has done a great job, changing the tune into a mental techno ride...we only released one mix, but check the digital platforms for more unreleased versions...

played by karotte, giles smith (secretsundaze), laurent garnier... already up to its 17th release, yore keeps rolling on, this time with a new release by memory foundation. in 1994 robert hood found his way into a dark basement somewhere in viennas suburbia. mr. hood was impressed by what he had heard, and with him a dat-tape took a long journey back to where techno was invented once. with their first appearance on detroits m-plant label 15 years ago, the memory foundation or one of their many alter egos found its way into the hearts and the record-bags of many serious electronic music lovers. in 1997, after setting up their own record labels central and together with jeremiah grow! and other releases on m-plant, 7th city or usm followed. the memory foundation now returns with their contribution for the yore camp, with their >reptiles in exile ep< they prove that they havent lost their magic touch. the track burns with electro-funk fire, with natural kit and cymbal sounds giving the already-surging cut extra thrust and the staccato burble of metallic chords adding berlin flavour. a lithe eight-note bass motif anchors the warm techno-funk of >bass traveller< as a flaring synth motif squiggles alongside rhodes chords and a boogieing clavinet line, and its easy to become so engrossed by the tunes relaxed swing that the artistry of its arrangement can go underappreciated. textbook body music, >summer visions< is an earthier, mid-tempo funk workout thats sure to get the dance floor crowded, while the light-speed closer >reptiles< blazes a slinky house trail whose fresh swing has got yore written all over it. with any luck, we wont be waiting twelve more years for the next memory foundation release

killer new moby single!!! on pale horses my friend amelia is singing, shes holding a $20 microphone, no headphones, just singing it with me holding the lyrics in front of her pointing to the words. she didnt know the song before she sang it, so her performance has a vulnerable and almost na ve quality. after, i put her vocals on an old 1/8ö tape machine and re-recorded them back into the song. i wanted them to sound as if they were recorded 50 years ago... including remixes from gui boratto, apparat, and empyrean...

te amo is a forgotten gem originally released on the volumex label back in 1993 and then licensed to the legendary vc records in the u.k. with mixes from john digweed. this was a huge anthem back in the early 90s full of balearic passion and happiness which is often missing in todayÆs music. but lets not get carried away in the memories of the past and check out these brand new mixes. in fact, the record makes a fine return to todays scene thanks to brilliant interpretations from two of our favourite djs/producers out there: hotly tipped paolo mojo and tapesh.to round off one pretty nifty package, the original caliente mix is enclosed also. and this still sounds as relevant today as it did almost two decades ago. a blast from the past indeed! very similar to releases on record labels like cr2, defected and toolroom.

with electric rescue, the french dj d jedi, who is known all over paris, becomes a part of the cocoon family. he is connected with the development of techno in france already since the beginning of the nineties. despite being busy as a producer for commercials and soundtracks, he always finds some time to release exciting electronic music on imprints such as f comm, communique, elp media and paul nazcas label scandium, where he has released his debut album >el.ue< three years ago. with the two tracks on >the darkest star<, electric rescue succeeds in the daring feat of transforming the energy of rave tracks from the early nineties into the present time without producing an anachronistic impression. besides a tectonically shaking bass drum, the title track relies on the power of sound, a superlative of raw club energy with a twist of irony, which can set a surprising climax with a steadily rising noise level, even after almost ten minutes. >the devils dance< is grafting a comparably brute state-of-emergency techno in a somehow restrained way, rhythm-wise, but is no less effective with its distinctive acid sound effects. and who said that modern techno cant use the tradition of belgian rave-signal-floor-burners?

two years ago, on the east coast of america, a couple of highly technical production wizards joined forces and created their own genre of strange and creepy techno under the moniker, voodeux. one from boston and the other from philadelphia, tanner ross and james watts first released >the curse< ep on mothership in 2008 with great success. with dj support rolling in from everywhere claude vonstroke soon commissioned them to record a full-length album of this new moody sound. voodeuxs debut album, >the paranormal< is a concentrated vision of myth and mysterious beats, exploring the eerie after-life side of techno like no other artists have done to date. it is a vision of ghosts and goblins hiding in the closet ready to scare the daylights out of you. using dark funk, ghoulish atmospheres and futuristic production, voodeux is staking their claim as the next generation of american techno and >the paranormal< is a techno masterwork for the modern underworld.

autonation s sit on the bass was released on esteemed label r&s , 18 years ago in 1991.. (shit! was it really 18 years ago??)
autonation kindly agreed to a re-release two years ago after a meeting in a pub in ladbroke grove. sit on the bass has been a mainstay of label boss jerome hill s sets since it s release all those years ago and still sounds relevent and rocks crowds today.
autonation is none other than seasoned producer dave campbell who over the years has released a vast body of techno, drum n bass, and ambient music under the aliases kibu, hiryze, xtro, greenback and of course autonation on labels such as rising high, certificate 18, r&s, cue and guy called gerald s juicebox.
its an absolute techno classic, but not one of the obvious ones that get rolled out for every old skool back to the 90 s set.. so get on board and be in the know before everyone gets on it!!
jerome hill steps up for the remix on the b-side utilising some fierce rumbling sub bass and keeping the energy levels on 11 for the dancefloor..
this release has been cut super loud and is the first 2-tracker on don t for just this reason.

this third sampler contains the excellent everyday, a collaboration between terry lee brown jnr and the timewriter. gorgeous deep house with a solid techy edge and a lot of soul! the plastic avengers remix of joeseph maliks believe and see is a raw, dirty tech-funk workout, whilst house stalwarts, 95 north, weigh in with a dubby house cut from ten years ago that screams underground! finally, man of the moment, sascha dive, has his deepest america cut remixed by samuel davis, and its a trippy, raw and minimal house swinger! a great 4 tracker, with a nice mix of deep and minimal to please most tastes

painkiller rec. was founded a year ago as a platform for the underground techno scene, now the label celebrates its first birthday with a new release, the hypno-toad ep , a four track ep featuring german techno master tobias lüke aka o.b.i. with two fresh tracks on logo side. info side by labelowners guillemotik and dj txuki, both very well respected artists in the spanish underground techno scene.

10 years ago toronto’s matt thibideau (aka altitude/coordinates) contributed one of the finest tracks in cynosure history. today matt returns with three brand new cuts and a re-mastered version of the cyn001 classic track entitled “archenar”. asphalt starts things off with a cutting edge syncopated groove that precisely reflects the cynosure sound over the years. a minimal, swingin, synth stab work out giving you the right amount of funk. archenar smooths things out with some lush pads and a dreamy reverb on the drums creating a subtle washed effect, perfect for the early morning blur. but let’s not forget to mention the killer ms-20 sub bass line.. ahhh so deep. icebox comes next with some icy precision fm syncopation in the mix. accompanied by matt’s signature classic synth percussion grooves. full of melody and warmth this track would melt most refrigerators down. last but not least the outside b track entitled 30 story drop. following suite with matt’s previous releases on blue records under the alias altitude 30 story drop dives deep into basic channel influenced dub and drops some serious bass. matt thibideau’s return to the label has been long anticipated and proves that cynosure’s mandate of releasing timeless uncompromising music is still very much alive 10 years on

minimalplus is an underground project that started quite a while ago and it is back with a new release. on the record minimalplus give you a legendary dutch underground dj called noes. it one of those guys who was there from the beginning. for a long time he had a solid residency at the transistor nights in the south of holland where he played with almost al big techno names like, jeff mills, joey beltram, surgeon, james ruskin, johannes heil, ben sims, robert hood, steve rachmad and the list goes on. now noes launches his first release on this underground imprint. one the aside the is hd which is like the man him self a little hyper. rolling percussion with some upwards movement. rocking but also a useful dj tool. one the bside there is the shit and it is! a rocking minimalistic rave sound, freaky sequence and easy to get a crowd going.
