after the huge succes of its tenth release (davide squillace & guti), hideout is back with with the third slice of the deconstruction revisited series. this time, crocodile tears, which appeared on davide squillaces tutti frutti ep (ho003) got offered three amazing relectures. it all starts with mr robert dietz (cadenza, cecille ...), who delivers a super modern and energetic relecture, where intelligent synthetic percussions mess around with weird noises and processed effects. after two minutes a monophonic synths starts its battle with vocals from squillaces original to end up on a more minimal groove. gflame aka portugese techno start cisco ferreiras (the advent) relecture directly sets the tone: a nasty bassline with a crazy synth stab flies over a soft but very heavy techno beat, to evolve to an elegant tech house track (no bongos involved). finally sis, the man behind cocolino imprint, reinterpretation starts with a long intro with the kick dropping after more than 3 minutes. the melancholic feeling of the track builds into a very subtile beat with reverbered elements all over. the percussion layers and delicate melodic synths add some organic flavour to the music so the 14 minutes remix is never boring and takes you to a nice journey thru sounds. you can tell somebody was in love when making such a beautiful song. another must have from hideout!

william anthony bois was born in stockholm, sweden, in 1991. he expressed an early interest in music, especially electronic music. whilst william demonstrated a natural tallent for piano composition from an early age, in 2003 he began channeling his creativity into house music after a friend introduced him to fruity loops. early street dancing lessons introduced him to funk which has been a source of inspiration ever since the age of nine. he continued the dancing with the dance group funky 4 brothers and has performed around europe and sweden. william also studied music production and sound engineering at sixth form college. this background has given him a firm foundation from which to express his music through a variety of rhythms and tone that give his music an individual flavour.

in 2011 some berlin based recordshops try to reclaim the streets with the so called >record store day< for the first time in germany. also kann was asked for a limited vinyl to support their concern. on that specific occasion we bring a new two track ep except for the regular series. kann rsd breaks ranks with an extra beautiful edit of the awesome witchwaver sunglitters, composited by nuremburgs essay. b-side builts back the bridge to the label and gives finally >aperture< from sevensol & bender the appropriate space. the track was originally released on kann00 in 2008. for the artwork kann is pretty happy to won over famed – a chummy art collective – for doing an impressing independent work.

one half of ny duo worst friends, toms previous discographic output was a limited & stamped 7 inch that featured a killer edit of the macs >never going back again<. for resista no. 3 he delves into territories brazilian, with >cho chua<, a faultless rework of a certain tropicalista, designed for discerning dancefloors, circa ad 2011. he loops up the swinging guitar intro, which combined with the vocal hook makes for a heady mix. its an uplifting, joyous ode to all things tropical!
on the flip the >dukes dub< is a subtler more restrained version that makes greater use of effects and surprisingly brings the songs percussive elements to the fore... not quite as direct as its sibling on the a-side but definitely as effective!

pulp disco & the outcasts - overnight to dusseldorf is the latest release on ashley beedles out hear audio imprint. put together in it s original sublime whoozy electronic form it was passed to mr. beedle who then took up the space baton with his studio partner darren morris to create the kommune mixes. with a nod to can, talking heads and some raucous psychedelic punk funk, the boys have whipped up two dancefloor killers that compliment the kosmische referencing original.

for its second release label head jrico joins forces with djf, who has recorded for spanish labels such as titans halo and his own tesla imprint. jrico is closely involved with the hip cool downbeat label, recording the recently released downbeat 05, and downbeat 03 that was remixed by mike huckaby. deep analogue house music with its roots steeped in the traditions of detroit and chicago. the labels sales notes prefer to describe the instruments used in the production.

it is a great honor for us to welcome such a living legend, a pioneer from the chicago house scene: mr k alexi shelby ! at the age of 12 he was already moving in the right circles, befriending frankie knuckles and ron hardy whilst frequenting the famous warehouse. his upbringing in chicago in the 70s and 80s meant that he was exposed to a range of genres and different styles of music including stevie wonder, prince, curtis mayfield and david huff. these same names would prove to be the roots of his influences. for his first collaboration with syncrophone, k alexi delivers a sublime set of new unreleased tracks + a new edit of his classical my medusa previously released in 1989, here called my sweet mf. year 2011, mr k alexi shelby is definitely back for a future classix

andreas reihse is well known since 1994 in his role as musician with kreidler. sometimes he releases club music, for example using his alias april or with detlef weinrich (kreidler, tolouse lowtrax) as binford on labels like italic, onitor or smoothrooms. he also composed soundtracks for artist movies and installations (rosemarie trockel, maximilian zentz zlomowitz, thea djordjadze, andreas gursky, frances scholz/mark von schlegell, among others). romantic comedy is music for dark clubs, for places without much light and oxygen – its driving, percussive dance music. a comedy in six acts: from l.a. to düsseldorf and back. music and lyrics? - pop goes my heart! - of course its a romantic comedy, a bittersweet romance full of memories and a bit of sorrow. >der lange weg nach düsseldorf< the title reminds of mittagspauses der lange weg nach derendorf, derendorf, the district of düsseldorf where andreas reihse and stefan betke / pole in the late 80ies shared a rehearsal room. langeweg also was the adress of the studio of klaus dinger in zeeland. the titles of the other pieces refer to dubious characters that show that the trip on the west coast makes stops in manchester, milano, brussels and london without forgetting charlottenburg and williamsburg. places that hold up against oblivion and reinvent themselves. your club needs you. the cover was designed by artist thea djordjadze

somewhere over western europe, an un-identified falling object crashed landed causing a massive bang, and a ginormous banana shaped smoke cloud. frederic, a local artistic young chap was so inspired by this hilariously funny giant cloud that covered the whole sky as far as he could see, he ran indoors to take cover, and wrote a little summer step d&b beat, called >laughing at clouds< – which seemed to draw a lot of attention. out of the studio window, frederic could see what seemed to be a pink giraffe giving it some serious head-nodding action. by the second drop leonard (the pink giraffe) was dancing so heavily that he caused a small tremor somewhere over in the states, where young up & coming producer melo seemed to pick up the transmission. while in his sonic laboratory he managed to transfer his latest project (affirmation) through the current, where frederic decided to make his first remix project, which pretty much made leonard pass out after all the summer stepping….

deep series is back! the third deep series features a fascinating symbiosis of two individuals: ekkohaus and santos resiak. the two of them started to work on this project in 2009 and are now finally ready to share it with the rest of the world. during that time, ekkohaus made a splash with a whole array of top releases e.g. 2020 vision, circus company and cargo edition. santos resiak was also having a blast – e.g. after his last release at mothership. the three tracks on the new deep series fuse together the artists still unbroken enthusiasm for deep sounds in one melodic common denominator. >thanx but no< is a homage to the saxophone (btw: played live by robert wuerz). heavy with groovy loops the track creates a free floating ambience reminiscent of a jazz club in new orleans or a night club on an early morning in berlin.

the eraly years of a decade are good times for exploration, just like in 1993 when we (alex & sasa) first started working together. we rented a huge loft space on ave b & 2nd st. in the east village in manhattan. the winter was tough, we had 16 snow storms and due to a landlord who hated everybody, we had our heating turned off except for a few hours in the morning, sometimes not even that... the only way to stay warm was to wear hats, gloves and scarves the whole winter... but that was fine because nightlife was a lot of fun. there was a good club/party every night. right below where we lived was one of the best after hour clubs called >save the robots<. but one of my favourite parties was >sugar babes< which was at the cbgbs gallery space right next door to cbgbs, every monday night. the dj used to sample parts of the records he was mixing and then just play the loop of the sample and alongside was a drummer playing to it. it was really inspiring. so we wanted to go back to this idea of sound assembly and create a new series for us to work with called >skematics< its like a diagram or manual to help understand the interconnections between the odd parts we find and assemble, an imaginary manual for a new decade that has not been musically defined yet

david nizet has been around in the belgian underground techno scene for ages, we mean early nineties. he was part of the 6th sense collective during the mid 90s with releases on dave angels rotation and the legendary belgian label re-load records. despite a detroitish nostalgic touch in his productions, small modern minimalist influences gently creep in to all his tracks to turn them into brilliant pieces of never outdated, or should we say evergreen, techno.

music man records is proud to present the long awaited second mix-cd from marcel dettmann, resident at the notorious berghain club in berlin since even before it was called like that, and one of the key artists on their label ostgut ton. marcel dettmanns previous mix-cd was named best mix-cd of 2008 by resident advisor. last year he released his debut album dettmann to high critical acclaim. in the meantime he s also building the profile of his own label mdr, and of course he stays one of the most in demand remixers around. the tracklist of conducted includes again a mixture of new to be discovered talents, old to be re-discovered gems, and a few usual suspects, such as sandwell district, redshape or shed. conducted is a timeless mix from one of the most important players in todays techno scene.

following his dream ep release last year that featured an amazing j.t.c. remix, juanpablo drops us this time another especial production called mother mountain ep that shows clearly how hard he is pushing to create his own beat. last year his song dream was reviewed by some specialized media as hard to describe but easy to love and we think that the mother mountain track on this record will get a similar description. sea people is the second track and for this song juanpablo has invited spanish producer vinz vincenzo to collaborate with him in the production. this artist has been around for a long time and has made a lot of music in many different types that are far away from electronic genres which gives a plus to the end result of this production. and lastly, we have a remix of mother mountain by the mythic spanish producer arcanoid who has released on labels such as tesla, semantica, etc. his remix is pure techno, very hypnotic, dark and mental but always with his personal touch. probably the most club oriented tune on this record.

originally released in 1985 for chris carters >mondo beat< lp on conspiracy international, >moonlight< is getting a long-overdue single release of the original and reinterpretation from neurotic drum band. a long-time fave of jd twitchs, >moonlight< was a hit in the late 80s with a much-slowed down bootlegged version on the belgian new beat scene and amongst the italian cosmic djs. the ny duo of ulysses and john selway, aka neurotic drum band, recreate >moonlight< keeping the original feel, slowing it down just a touch and ultra cosmic-a-fying it for an ultra-headtrip psychedelic spaceflight! as a special bonus, there is a digital-only remix from oneohtrix point never. its the sort of drone, dark ambient sound that fans of opns daniel lopatin know and love. bliss out… for those who may not know, chris carter is one of the founding members of throbbing gristle, partner with cosey fanni tutti (knows as carter-tutti and formerly recording as chris & cosey) and has been working with sound for over 40 years. for an extensive biography and up-to-date info about his current projects.

breaking onto the scene via a series of anonymous 12inch, it was after garnering reverence as a big name producer in disguise that cottam was unveiled to be the humble newcomer paul cottam. rising through the early rave scene in his hometown of preston, he first cut his teeth as a dj warming up for the likes of surgeon, dave clarke and regis. despite his techno upbringing, it was the slo-mo tempos of mark e and the revenge that inspired cottam to produce his own brand of dusty soul and hip hop-grounded house. however, in april cottam returned to his roots with >sunrise sunset< on use of weapons, sinking a rave core down to his signature slung bpm. it is a journey into sub-aquatic acid house that began with a series of remixes for luv jam, pattern select and morning factory, and one that he continues to explore on his aus music debut. aptly titled >deep deep down< sculpts the feeling of acid techno into warm slo-mo house. ukrainian producer vakula takes the track off on another tangent entirely, stripping away its propulsive chugging heartbeat and replacing it with an off-kilter, spaced-out pulse reminiscent of theo parrish when he s in that kind groove. on the flip, >twang< is a return to cottam s brand of languid, soulful house, steeped with groove destined to incite the dancefloor shuffle.

while dominik eulberg utilized the broader canvas of the album format to develop complex sophisticated compositions, rich of melodies and of intricate details, it was time to boil it down to a bit of a club formula. stephan bodzin, a favourite producer of eulberg, has chosen the clubbiest track of the album >teddy tausendtod< and transformed it into a after hour monster. installing a feeling of electricity with sounds of the original that hover on a layer of huge bass and powerful arrhythmic kicks... it has resulted into a hypnotic anthem.

anders trentemoller has become one of the most respected names in cutting edge electronic music in the last few years. his rise to notoriety was sparked by his early, techy releases for poker flat and audiomatique and has since gone on to stellar highs with his own personal take on the genre, spanning, pop, rock, indie and classical. his debut album >the last resort< was released in 2006 to much international acclaim, and the producer also began to become an in-demand remixer in the house and techno world. as the decade wore on his sound continued to progress, opening up his studio to more live instrumentation, and a looser, rock-meets electronic vibe with his stunning >into the great wide yonder< lp. now this special double cd and double vinyl release celebrates some of the producer s favourite remixes he completed for other artists, and also some of his personal picks where other musicians have reworked his music.
