new talent andrea cichecki releases her debut on telrae. based in berlin, andrea has been recording music for some years, and started djing 13 years ago.. organizing a lot of party s in the underground scene and got inspired by great music and meeting great people. apart from music she works artistically in many fields such as photography, graphic design and illustrative artwork.

superb analog techno ep, hypnotizer

with the track *time machine*, dj and producer michael nielebock provided us with a fantastic debut on our deep circus label. his first success came for the berlin resident with the track pure visionson the treibstoff label, which entered the charts and the record cases of many international djs. his productions all are characterized by a driving groove, mixed with spherical elements, strings and synth-sounds. with *time machine* he also managed to bring this mixture to perfection in cooperation with his studio buddy leevey, thus creating a track which will make the day and caress the ears of many outdoor dancers this summer.
the second track on the ep is a wonderful remix by burak sar aka sis, who recently released his second album *confidance* on his label cocolino. the sis remix stays close to the original track, but reduces the spherical sounds and puts a greater focus on the basses, resulting in a great piece with a lot of deepness. nice!

just as summer arrives, sylphes bosses holdie gawn & micawber are delivering their third ep hypofermsenso. on the a side hypoferm has holdie gawns trademark sound, with analogue bouncy warm snares and hi-hats, accompanied by synthesized modulations and raw filtering action, forming a chuggy, sleek rhythm with deep reaching basslines and a lot of movement. on the flip, micawbers -senso- offers a tribute to experimental composer john cage by incorporating parts of his vocal works into creating a landscape of mysticism, riding along sub-bass tones and syncopated drums, an afterhours number with a psychedelic twist

i am sure joe goddard needs no introduction, the co-founder of greco-roman and leading member of hot chip + one half of 2 bears releases this stunning 4 track ep. the title taking over is, as joe says: a reference to that moment when the music at a club starts to really hit you, when it forces you to focus on it and the night ahead. featuring collaborations with boris dlugosch and mara carlyle, taking over is an attempt to make synthesizers sound nice. the lead single from the ep is the step together which was premiered on the b traits (in for annie mac) on bbc r1 last friday. since that announcement step together has received more plays across the bbc networks. we have big plans radio wise for this track and we expect to see a lot more plays forthcoming across, bbc r1, 6 music, 1xtra, xfm and kiss fm.

cavaan is the alter ego of a rather well known berlin producer and his fellow from milan. the duo debuts with their very much loved project. they feature a studio-recorded wonderful vocal on this hypnotically modern percussive house affair titled black snow. the original track grooves on some free swinging retro percussions and beats from the 80s machinery and a softly moving house-beat making this a very subtle killer for any dancefloor. while the vocals carry the track as light as a feather it is after the breakdown that things get really musical - you will hear yourself while listening the melodies and sequences. for the remixes turdjr has aligned a high-quality and diverse array of a current top producer. one of heidelbergs coolest kids on the block, lopazz knows that every track gets better with a lot of handmade music-and he sure is right in his interpretation of black snow. last not least i is under on the flip which is one of these tracks that sucks the listener in so deep that there is simply no escape: repetitive yet constantly changing and constantly grooving while remaining very pure! this release is filled with tracks that will long echo on the dancefloor!

monitor 66s arrival onto the scene with last summers triscuits saw them pop up on a lot of top djs radars, such as the magician who opened his magic tape 22 mix with it. it also saw their first release on house of disco, their adopted home. since then the two boys from sweden have been honing their sound through a series of lauded remixes for tempogeist, kolombo & rythm operator. now after some painstaking studio time they are ready to release their next original work, their first solo ep, vitae on house of disco records.

keith tuckers optic nerve persona returns with the timelapse ep. side a1 minimal detroit mix is a dark minimal mood beat pumped excursion into techno floor stumper. a2 time displacement mix is a completely different take with alternative beats creating a sort of shift in time. the tracks show tuckers growth and influence on electro and techno with his work in aux 88. side two one moment in time is a detroit sort of metroplex gem. tucker once again shows his melodic melodies and baselines that shows his love for detroit music and grooves. a highly thought out sequence of great sounds and string chords as only optic nerve does it. tucker has hinted many times that he has a lot of unreleased music from his metroplex days! b2. transient force records label owner as1 gives us a true electro mix which keeps alot of the original mix of one moment in time. the tone is a more electro clash techno mesh of urban beat programming for the electro heads.

africa friends is a tribal-inspired tech-house track with a lot of driving elements. the remix of yapacc however is rather a remixer typical interpretation somewhere between funky minimal and melodic techno. another centerpiece of this ep is the remix of quenum, who founded the imprint cadenza along with luciano a few years ago. as a small gimmick nicolas duvoisin serves an additional groovy track called people dance.

the mysterious wpbh label strikes again with two killer tracks from the vaults of one certain harry baldi. all that is known about this harry baldi character is that he once squeezed 100 tracks into a 9 seconds mix on his soundcloud and that he has never played at panorama bar or any other club for that matter.
so this one is truly a matter of the music doing the talking, and with the reggaefied dubness of cant kick this feeling when it dubs and the vintage theo parrish-styled tonight tomorrow the music will well and truly talk to a lot of music lovers.

italian dj / producer max_m, who has recently seen a lot of movement thanks to his own label m_rec ltd, which includes releases by jeroen search, samuli kemppi, nx1, cassegrain, among others, arrives at woods n bass records to present the third edition of their vinyl-only imprint. three good examples of explorative but yet refreshing dub techno, in which maxs reversed, delayed chords should make this a secret weapon, perfect for some dancefloor euphoria

few people stand for a real underground approach to techno like adam x does. for over 20 years he has been right in the center of the scene. before moving to berlin he ran the sonic groove record shop in nyc for 15 years. the sonic groove label also owned by adam is still a dominating force in the scene and has released music of legends like abe duque, blake baxter, frankie bones, kevin saunderson and many more. with djing, producing music adam in recent years has received a lot of support from people like chris liebing and many others for his productions as adam x as well as for his aliases traversable wormhole, admx-71.adam’s sound is dark and heavily influenced by his passion for industrial and old school ebm music. with coercive persuasion on the a-side he combines these influences with a functionality that can only derive from his extensive touring as a dj and live act. it is a dark anthem that will destroy all real techno floors. no doubt. the b-side deprogramming sequence comes along with driving bells that give the stomping beat of the track a little uplift and therewith balances out the heavy dark side of the ep.

the mad aussies at haul music have changed things up a lot since the inception of their digital imprint nearly 5 years ago. in what might be described as a backwards move made by label-men who have simply lost their edge, they began releasing on vinyl only. first with a limited run of ornately illustrated portraits of the label owners, and now they are set to present a vinyl-only release from a cast of relative-unknowns.

after the killer release by marco shuttle vidd is back after a long silence with their 2nd release. a special release from somebody who has done a lot in a very short time: gw from stockholm. surrounded by mystery and simplicity, hurry up demonstrates both power and heft with few elements. the driving force builds a tension which really doesnt reach a peak, something that the locked groove vocal manages to balance perfectly. the energy is constant and keeps things interesting. the b-side starts off with runaway, a chicago-resembling funk track that reflects the 90s tradition and the new digital age. tonight closes the doors of this release and the closing lights come on, it is time to go home.

first pressing in dark red vinyl! in remarkably short time, van bonn has developed a well-deserved reputation as a forward-thinking dub music producer. he is tying up electronic listening music with dance music structures for the german label telrae and trapez since 2011, but his newest invention van bonn01 is another step forward. van bonn records now for the first time provides him with a platform, that is his own. it is a sound laboratory pushing his ideas as well as giving him the possibility to feature like minded people. the first edition on vinyl, comes in dark red with a nice artwork. gradient (cph dub) shows a new side with van bonn, expressing a certain form of industrial & romantic privacy in a very radical way. his epic 12 minute track explores the time and space continuum in ways of symmetry. this is a perfect extension of what we know from various dub techno productions of the past. rich filtered delays balanced with a monotony of a mighty & distant beat, makes it an hypnotic piece of music. gradient in its original version is the more hardish and forceful..companion of the a-side, being more raw an direct. van bonn uses here a lot of fx sounds to build a bubble which perfectly embeds the stomping machine liked beat. the >do not resist the beat< owner milton bradley and artist on prologue (and more) has delivered a remix of >gradient< in his genuine style avoiding commercialism and creating his own atmospheric, claustrophobic, cinematic style of techno. listen here to his remix for van bonn.

while we have a strong crew of regular artists that define a lot of what circus company is about, we are of course always looking ahead and all around us as well.

this new italian artist (already released on nacthstrom schallplatten, drehmoment, etc.)shows two interesting tracks with a modern concept of techno.the first track is a sort of hypnotic techno with a lot of groove inside, never boring.the second track is a beautiful trip with experimental and industrial sounds, he doesnt want forget his roots.
