CARAVAN (LP)
12 Inch LP
06.12.11
in the psychedelic late sixties there was a lively music scene in the canterbury area that revolved around the band the wilde flowers. they never recorded much themselves, however, but after they disbanded other influential bands were formed from their ashes: gong, soft machine, and, most importantly, caravan.
caravans eponymous debut was released in 1968. it was considered a groundbreaking album capturing the freakish and exploratory moods of the times. their sound went much further than the changing styles of the contemporary underground and that is what distinguished caravan from other bands in their genre.

but it is the tragic and premature passing of amy winehouse that makes this album truly special, her appearance on the duet >body and soul< is the last known recording of the british songbird, and it is a truly heartrending version of the 1930 jazz classic. if this isnt grammy material, we dont know what is!

PRONOUNCED LEH-NERD-SKIN-NERD (LP)
12 Inch LP
06.12.11
released in 1973, pronounced >lĕ,,,,,,,h- nérd skin- nérd< is the debut album of legendary pioneers of southern rock lynyrd skynyrd. they brought together all the best elements of southern culture – blues, country, garage rock, southern poetry – and created a gumbo of southern sounds and flavors as none had done before. there are few debut albums that sounds as raw and determined as pronounced does, and this is largely due to the hard, lean edge that lynyrd skynyrd bring to the music. the album features the songs >i aint the one<, >gimme three steps< and >free bird<, their famous rock anthem. music on vinyl is proud to present this album, which marks the birth of a great band that spawned an entire genre.

WAVE (LP)
12 Inch LP
06.12.11
wave turned out to be the last album the patti smith group would record, as it was also last album smith would record before a nine year hiatus. the godmother of punk decided to focus on her family life and moved to michigan, but not before leaving us with gems like the sexually mysterious >dancing barefoot< (dedicated to her husband to be fred sonic smith) and her amazing, biting version of >so you want to be (a rock n roll star)<. produced by todd rundgren, this is her most pop-oriented album, and many at the time could not appreciate her more accessible sound. nevertheless, wave, her spoken word tribute to pope john paul i (who reigned for only 33 days) is as touching and harrowing now as when it came out in 1979. available on vinyl for the first time since its original release!
pressing on 180 grams audiophile vinyl, includes 4 page insert.

thomas hesslers ep is the first player through crepuscular shafts & sonic subways.. beware the trail. first track - lost - cements you into a vacuum of suffocating synths that precede a poundin kick.. you are propelled into a tunnel. the bridge of the track is a course in restraint, giving way to menacing drive & looping side sticks.. siren like washes takes hold, swirling & disorientating the listener. on the flip, - 12 channel madness - best conveys the tone and atmosphere of the release. the murky darkness & pace feels inhuman to the core, but not without infectious rhythm breakdowns with flavors of old & nu skool shuffle timbres. these tracks are also - tools - that do not sacrifice on complexity. the haunting synth washes carry us through but offer no comfort. insanity & intensity reaches catharsis but never overpowers the overall mix. - berlin movement - is the final track on the ep that affirms you are still inside the tunnel. the incisive hook lines impel you to find your way out. the kick is more subdued forcing you to go with the melody until the break & bridge lapses back & the restraint builds to hypnotic frenzy. a dry, howling wind prevails.. filtered and distorted. thomas hessler succeeds in taking us through his tunnel of contradictions: alluring, menacing, emotional yet coldly detached. listen up: you might not escape !

komisch welcomes another new artist to its fold for its last release of 2011.p.god aka paolo dioguardi hails from naples in italy. still in his 20s, he makes music that belies his youth and neptune iv sounds like the work of a veteran producer. lead track approaching an ocean planet sees grainy, dense beats and hypntoic bleeps take the lead, but hovering above the arrangement, tethered to the reverberated, doubled up claps, are ghostly, eerie chords. the title track adopts a similar approach, with bursts of metallic percussion underscoring spacey pads as p.god drops a droning, tunneling rhythm track. finally, geometric shadows on iced surfaces sees the young producer opt for a deeper approach. this time the chords envelop a purring groove, but the same sense of understated menace is still audible thanks to the austere hats and bleak subsonic bass. capturing jeff millss estoeric side and the hypnotic magic of sleeparchive, neptune iv is a real techno journey!
relativismi is the latest three track release from sonic groove artist dasha rush. side ways is a percussive industrial tribalesque groover that grinds it way through the airiness of droning soundscapes. relative perspective is a beautifully crafted deep hypnotic journey which will surely conjure up many a thought about space and time. ending this chapter of relativismi is dark light blind an eerily brooding acidic mind warper that leaves the listener wanting more and more. dasha delivers here with another great and very original sounding release for sonic groove.

spezial price!!! the creative hub of taron-trekka, as well as dj team and beat crafter furnishes an individual experience of togetherness, a complete understanding on a deeper level. they have this primal groove, around which everything rotates, internalized. they carry this groove with their own signature out into the world. this raw groove diamond is constantly sharpened without being completely polished on all facets. on the new fat release they stand for an electric-infected development, that allows only the solution to seep in: deep-in-the-peak! thereby the kraken clutches fiercely to the coral reefs of the soul. their vision of a living sound can thereby sometimes morph precipitously into a technoid, housy, fine-spirited sort and then at once jazzy. the required resolve as it pertains to the dance floor is hardly missed from taron-trekka. the desire-principle and body language mimic are most definitely functional. the big bang doesnt explode in the space, but rather in the heart. as a special treat, the fellas adorn the cover of their 12-inch from the illustrator, designer and photographer tine drefahl (http://www. tinedrefahl.com). thus is presented from freude am tanzen a worthy conclusion to a sometimes turbulent jubilee year, a complete package of artistic expression in tone and picture that is at home both on the mantel as well as the turntables.
