the highly anticipated follow up to their 2013 dream of the walled city (ost) lp, samo dj and max stenerudh return with another far out record complete with backstory. originally composed as an accompanying piece for artist thomas jeppe s exhibition in tehran, iran the music contained on this release was originally pressed on extremely limited cdr s given out for free at the exhibition. as it stands it would have been a crime to keep this music in the private sector, thus now we see an official release in long playing format here on l.i.e.s. dream-like, full of drama, suspense and full of cinematic overtones, once again the duo of samo and max deliver beyond the full scope of psychedelic soundtrack madness.

otake 007 is the debut from the born new polish project id ensemble. the release is called hollow ep and is authored by filip kaczmarek, self taught musician with technological attention to detail. it is one of few projects which filip runs in parallel although this one is heavily influenced by berlin sound exports. it was created as an expression of the need to break from the pattern, escape from the trademark. there are four tracks on the ep which are inspired by some detroit and berlin sounds, thus still having some special polish touch.

forecast label announces new vinyl ep -holysheep- by cheaper shepherd to be released in march 2016. samples, drum machines and old school keyboards: a straight ­to ­the point! cheaper shepherd is a duo of producers born in the 15th borough of paris. drived by their love of synthetizers and other analogic machines, they ve been working in electronic music for years. in addition to their own projects, they have produced several hip­hop, house and techno projects: timä, androma (savoir faire), la direction, dudmode, peterbär... their first ep origin came out on helpme records early 2013, followed by three other eps, released on their own label baldwin records among others. they joined the booking roster of forecast label in 2012, and released on vinyl their first ep for the label. this projects appears as the fulfillment of a collaboration that has allowed them to go on tour in france (paris, bordeaux, lyon and st malo) but also in china. in 2015, they also went to the us to record with cans. the project was originally an ep of five songs, but the chemistry was such that it has turned into a 17 tracks album that will be released in 2016, between old school hip hop, house music and trap... limited to 200 copies !

when we started heist a few years back, our idea was to give a stage to talent in a same way as we have had a helping hand by the labels that have supported us from the beginning. therefore, i’s our pleasure to share this release with you by newcomers ouer, a berlin based duo with only a handful of tracks out so far on their self released debut last year. their approach to producing is very much jam based, and with a compact collection of synths, drum machines and a fair level of distortion, they succeed in creating their own sound with hints of classic electronic music from chicago and detroit. theres a nice mix of energy on the whole ep, the ascent being the most driving track of the package. fans of classics mcde tracks will love show off with its dreamy dx7 style chords and cracking acid lines. move over feels like a jam session that was way too much fun with some lovely solo work on the synths, whereas mess around goes down in similar free-ride style on the synths and again, has some lovely sampling going on. an impressive ep were just all too happy to have on our label. sincerely yours, lars & maarten

two years ago i played at studio 9 in vilnius, lithuania. the following day i missed my flight home and ended up spending an extra day, which gave me a chance to explore the city with my friend linus, who took me to the contemporary art centre. it was there i spotted a book named ‘rojus’, that linus told me translated as ‘paradise’. the word and striking cover of the book stuck in my mind. a few days after returning home, i turned on to a national geographic documentary named ‘designed to dance’, explaining the courtship rituals of birds of paradise. as i watched, i jokingly began drawing similarities between these birds’ attempts to captivate and impress the opposite sex with dance, and the way strangers try to attract one another in clubs and interact on the dance floor. this gave me the idea of creating a record of functional club music, sequenced as if it were a club night, from doors to closing, using samples of these birds of paradise and their habitat. thus, rojus. leon vynehall 2016

this vinyl ep is a collaboration between paris label correspondant and germanys gomma records. remixes by los angeles finest psychedelic electronic producer secret circuit (beats in space records) and german shooting star lauer (partner of gerd janson at tuff city kids). why this ep? gomma has a long history with the paris scene. mathias munk modica who runs gomma (and sublabel toy tonics) has been living in france for many years. he worked with many parisian artists from dj chloe (on munks first album aperitivo 2004) to the ed banger crew or black strobe. probably apart of berlin there is no city in the world that saw more gomma events than paris. seems only a project with jennifer cardini missed. so jennifer invited mathias last year to send over tracks. decision was made fast. and so wurlitzer wank and the bösus bounce have come up on correspondant.

much-celebrated kompakt staple the field returns to the spotlight with new album the follower, his fifth full-length offering after from here we go sublime (kompakt rsd 02 cd 57), yesterday and today (kompakt 193 cd 72), looping state of mind (kompakt 241 cd 94) and cupids head (kompakt 290 cd 110). swedish soundsmith axel willner is well-known for his mastery when it comes to the allusive layering of loops, but it was with his last album cupids head that a newly-found, somewhat pressing snappishness started to replace the soft-hued sonics of his ambient-infused techno, imbued with a darker mood and stronger footing than before. a carefully gauged balance of stoic motorik and gloomy drones was key here - just as it is for the follower which goes even further in blurring the lines between concrete experimentation, body music and precisely laid-out arrangement, leading to one of the most rhythmically and texturally engaging listening experiences in willners catalogue.

good things come to those who wait. the long-anticipated land of light debut, a masterpiece of an album and pillar of the esp institute, was unveiled in late 2012, slowly followed by the gorgeous remixed ii. since then, many have longed for the missing first half of this two-part package, the universe is kind and has finally delivered remixed i. on side a, kuniyuki takahashi (mastering engineer behind seminal esp releases, and legend in his own right) took the bull by the horns remixing flares—a piece of music so entrenched in melancholy, with such fluid performance and production, its hard to imagine anyone taking it deeper—he has unarguably triumphed. on side b, esp institute veterans tambien rose to the same challenge with flares, the bavarians taking a refreshing uptempo approach, a contrast to the swells of guitar and synth. closing the release is the seahawks blissful re-imagination of bell rock outpost, slowly and steadily setting sail into a dusky vision of the scottish lighthouse after which the song was named.

the first release from sign bit zero features two powerful edits from mick wills. giving new life to the track, ‘center’ by ale mania, a san diego based band, the cuts here contain wholly new structures with a greater focus on the oppressive yet powerful vocal parts and the uplifting string section. by extending the (acoustic) drum track and giving it the groove and strength we have come to associate with his edits, mick has created for us a unique take on the new wave / dark wave genres – ideal for any dj who wants to showcase this sound in a club-focussed context. ‘center’ originally appeared on the ep, ‘a, who sings that beat?’ on volar records and was written by andrew montoya, who has kindly granted us the permission to present this record to you all.

the 1978 record, which goes for up to $800 on the collectors market, comes with a lore all its own. the liner notes explain that at the time of its recording, davis was suffering from personal turmoil and a head full of memories from the vietnam war. the infamous jonestown, guyana mass murder occurred two days before the recording session and weighed heavily on his consciousness. the resulting electronic score would garner attention from legendary motor city dj electrifying mojo. in the early 80s, davis performed as 3070 in cybotron alongside juan atkins, laying the groundwork for detroit techno and electro with cuts like alleys of your mind. despite successful cybotron albums released on fantasy records, davis spent time penniless and abandoned in a v.a. hospital. the new 12inch version of methane sea was cut to lacquer straight from the original master tapes. davis currently lives in ypsilanti, michigan and works with music videos, fractal designs and cgi.

echoes of paradise is the first collaboration ep on lmd. it sees long time lmd affiliate mikael stavöstrand team up with lmd s very own shaun soomro to create something truly special. the ep was a long time in the making with full use of their studios and no holds barred. street code symphony (w10) opens the ep and is dedicated to the w10 area of london namely ladbroke grove, it s past and present musical institutions - dub vendor, honest jon s, notting hill carnival. paradise lost is a open thought, is paradise a place or is it in our imagination.

maeve is the record label run by three close friends, mano le tough, the drifter and baikal. for maeve’s eighth outing it has enlisted the talents of long time friend ed davenport. the record grew from a chance hearing of some new material at eds studio one night and after a brief discussion it was decided that the tracks would find a fitting home at maeve. although recently more known for his harder techno releases under the moniker inland, silver walks is some what a return to eds roots. slower, emotive, more contemplative tracks, recorded over a pretty short period of focused studio time. silver walks is a synth-led jam. the arpeggiator holds pride of place as the centre of the tune with filter tweaks complementing its progression. kuromaku has a tougher attitude - heady and cosmic with a deep kick. it means black curtain in japanese.

the rattler proxy present the prelude to their upcoming album, three new tracks produced by thomas bullock. *follow* is a ten-minute acid storm brewing with distorted vocals and jangling art rock guitar - it was previewed by tim sweeney on his beats in space radio show and voted one of the best tracks of 2015. *ex cop* is an edgy three minute punk stomper with sharp guitars and an incessant driving beat. *mother goose*, like *follow*, showcases more of the bands techno influences with thundering drums and twangy synths emanating from the deep.

new release on eye teeth by israel vines featuring the hybrid techno bass electro anthem “gatekeepers”, the dark techno gem “unscathed” and the ambient “repose in dub”. we started this sublabel as way of exploring pure and experimental techno in an entirely contemporary context (where it often uses historical lenses and a wider musical context). this is techno from detroit and america, not detroit techno. we would like to see american techno evolve, and this new imprint is an attempt to be a catalyst in that arena. this ep was pre-mastered by neel at enisslab studio in rome. the vinyl was mastered by carl at trutone and pressed at archer records in detroit.

alpha 606 on it with a visionary remix from anthony “shake” shakir. a secret dance floor anthem that works in almost any context from bmg and a beautiful spaced out take on “electronic flotation device” by erika. this was the last record mastered by mark richardson at prairie cat mastering. all tunes from the lost alpha 606 lp “afto-cuban electronics”. miami post bass from a cuban perspective. what is it to be an exile of the country you love? the largely cuban city hialeah, part of the sprawling miami metropolis, is home to not only alpha 606’s exiled family, but also to miami bass.

fabio jeffterry is starting a new journey through detroit and chicago house landscapes without any borders. the artist, who was heavily influenced by black music of the 80s gives life to the fresh tracks, which wait to be discovered by all house music lovers.

radio slave, spencer parker and mr. ties return under their b.a.d.s moniker with remixes of last years iconic hous-o-matik hom-o-patik release. b.a.d.s. is an acronym of berlin amateur dramatics society, the project was established by edwards, parker and de nittis for the original release in tribute to berlins homopatik party, the monthly event series helmed by mr. ties himself. in the house of ties remix a syncopated breakdown erupts into a frenzy of rumbling kicks, infectious vox and montefioris charismatic saxophone. in contrast, parkers reinterpretation is more mesmerising in nature with echoing stabs, reverberating vocals and eerie organ chords.

it’s been a while but hey-ho, coincidence is back on vinyl. the tracks we got from aussie based female dj trinity were simply too analog sounding, so slapping it on wax was the logical thing to do. the vinyl release adds remixes by two of our alltime heroes - steve stoll and daniela la luz. basically: the originals are deep and darkish, the steve stoll rework is a rework in one smooth jam so with plenty of energy while daniela’s version does it really smart and housey. so on with the friggin show!

this is the relaunch limited edition album (475 copies only, remastered from the original master tapes) of the male productions label. it contains theaoriginal songs of the true underground sound of rome from the rare and sought after ep released in 1991 on male records plus two unreleased tracks recorded in 1991. in italy during early 90 s after the disco era was time for the new born underground music movement. male productions represents the first italian electronic-house independent label, based in rome and managed by chicco furlotti, former club-dj and organizer of the early italian rave parties. this album features stefano di carlo and other big names from the italian electronic and house music scene like leo young and mauro tannino. we cant call this music as deep-house, ambient or techno because it s the true undergound sound of rome!

the first spinning plates ep back in february was picked up by print media and radio tastemakers from ra and dj mag to b.traits and moxie, whilst djs as diverse as ivan smagghe and francois k slotted it into their dj bags. as such there has been much demand for a second release, and now it arrives in the form of a fascinating split ep from scene veteran andy rantzen and relative newcomer bruno schmidt, who helps a&r for the label. in fact it was bruno who came across andy’s tracks during a late night youtube session. andy, who remixed inxs and severed heads back in the day and is a sydney based producer who has been active for three decades, had upped a load of his old demos to youtube in the faint hope that one day someone might find them. and damn are we happy he did, because they are brilliant affairs that sound like little else. for his part, bruno has been a louche resident and hifi creator alongside andrew james gustav and gwenan and delivers an exceptional stripped down late night trip/early morning trip.

jumpmono records is the brand new label from uk techno brothers, anti-slam & w.e.a.p.o.n. after the growing success of their digital only label, jumpstereo records, it was only a matter of time before the brothers went back to their roots and created a label not only for the digital world but also heavily focused on vinyl.

delsin records welcomes back dennis van gemert aka area forty_one for a second ep on the label. it is a second part to the nocturnal passions series started back in 2013, and come five years after his first ever release, which was on ann aimee in 2011, once again fusing ambient with techno, downtempo and electro. nocturnal passions part 2 is seven minutes of slithering electro funk. full of twinkling keys and spaced out chords, it has rugged bass and bumpy drums all making you want to move. voyage is then a raw, beat driven yet still brilliantly serene affair with angelic chords, consolation is a comforting, mid tempo tumble through the galaxy with soft focus, rippling melodies and gentle churning kicks and orbiting is a suspensory, fully ambient track that sounds like a slow journey up to heaven. this is teary eyed, emotive stuff that comes from another world entirely.

the maghreban has been making dusty house music for a couple of years now and has put a few records out on his own imprint zoot and also on versatile records. some people have liked this. the maghreban found a bunch of old cassette tapes at his dads house. one said ‘alex july 84&#8242,,, on it. this tape was from alexandria, egypt in the summer of 1984. it had some interesting music recorded on it. the maghreban sampled a few of the tracks to make this one.

get real is the new project from legendary producers, green velvet & claude vonstroke. the pair, hailing from chicago and detroit, headed out on the road together for a string of shows at the tail end of 2015. get real was born and vonstroke was soon heading to green velvets chicago studio to work on new music. the result of that trip is the debut get real ep featuring two slices of amazing future funk from two creative giants.

mit der veröffentlichung der 12 inch * accolade* ist der startschuss für ein neues label gefallen. empore music ist in kiel beheimatet und hat sich die produktion amtlicher house- und techno-produktionen auf die fahnen geschrieben. sehr begrüßenswert, von guter tanzmusik kann die welt nie genug bekommen! wie es gemacht wird, demonstriert uns gleich einmal avidus mit einem variantenreichen 3-tracker. hinter avidus verbergen sich fritz wagner und marc wolf. sie verbindet neben einer langjährigen freundschaft auch eine tiefe leidenschaft für elektronische tanzmusik und vinyl. was lag also näher, form und inhalt miteinander zu kombinieren und parallel zur band gleich die veröffentlichungsplattform empore music ins leben zu rufen? gesagt, getan. und so verdanken wir den beiden zum neuen vinyl auch gleich ein neues label.

zahn returns with his first full solo ep since 2014’s new day rising! he delivers a collection of four new direct, hypnotic cuts from his recent live sets that have already received play from ben klock, dvs1, truncate, par grindvik, and others… the ascension sessions occurred when zahn was holed up at a hotel in ibiza last year during one particularly rainy week. >i was doing a lot of live sets at the time so i wanted to use my down time to write more music that was simple enough to truly play live.<

padez is a producer from a town near mannheim which meant growing up fully submersed into the vibrant electronic music movement of mannheim and frankfurt area, but his influences grow roots deeper into the golden age of hip-hop, as well as jazz, soul, funk etc… he started producing in 2009, sharing music just in between a circle of friends, and it was not until 2013 that he had his first digital release out on basti grub’s hoehenregler records. in the meantime he took the chance to dive deeper into the sound with his friends sedee. releases on valioso recordings and medeia records among others can be expected as a result of this collaboration. the love reloaded ep on kanzyanis jesus loved you label is his first vinyl release and a homage to the music he is essentially influenced by. the ep features 3 intrinsically groovy tracks, permeated with heavy baselines and driven by upbeat, slightly broken rhythm patterns, oozing a sublime soulful vibe at the same time. truly a dance-floor delight!
