we are happy to welcome two new artists to rose records on our first real split record. rose 12 brings two pieces from chassé. the duo from belgium adds round bass and piano to send two deep and warm tracks into the game. on the other side, which is rose 13, you find two more crazy tracks which unite funky vocals with guitars – both from gledd a recent nice and surprising discovery for us from italy. we feel that the combination of both sides represent rose perfectly – a deep and funky mix.

m.ono & luvless join forces for the seventh release on leipzig s much loved rose records the pair runs and curates alongside martin hayes & l.sluter. the duo impressed a few years ago with sought-after joint productions on upmarket labels like o*rs and kolour ltd and now steps up to the plate with a pair of pitch-perfect burners for their own imprint for the label s first 10- release. synth lines set the mood on the a with the delectable double you. crisp drums set the pace, carefully arranged percussive elements, a teasing vocal and a monumental breakdown take care of the rest. on the flipside we have happy chap. a quintessential rose fare with its tight drums, vocal snips and the sort of deadly piano work that is such a staple in m.ono and luvless productions.

the first rose records release presents tracks by luvless, m.ono and martin hayes. while luvless >surrender< is playing shiny chords, adding vocals promising love and a restless groove, m.onos >love pass u by< combines a modern beat structure with some oldschool funk flavor. martin hayes rearranged and slowed down some 80s cheese and added chunky drums and filtered vocals.
