luuk graham, the hague native drops his second release with lowriders recordings. after his recent remixes, a beattape and some digi releases finally the ep is ready for the public ear. the sound has grown in depth and strength. inspired by uk bass and uk bass and dirty south hip hop scene, he fits in the hip trap/bass culture with his more uptempo tracks but as easily links to the more head-hop in the likes off shlohmo. his sound is very much 8bit - commodore infected blent of hip hop, skweee, bass and retro-futuristic-synth-science. filosofischestilte takes you into an unknown world shaped out of arpeggios, sparkling.

poly kicks is a new uk label run by ed russell aka tessela. first single is the much anticipated hackney parrot backed with helter skelter. both tracks are rich with the sounds of early uk hardcore and show tessela continuing on his breakneck rhythmic explorations. expect rough percussive workouts and quality control of the highest order.

this 7 inch record released by lo fi funk records contains two skweee tracks which are going deeper in the main lines that this artist has been developing in previous productions. poly july is low tempo track with vibrant synth lines built over a minimalist rnb drums base, resulting in an hipnotic beat with pure funky flashes. moon braggin is full of huge sub bass waves, typical of the new club music and crazy, doubled tempo percussion tracks which forms a mental song, with an epic atmosphere made with floatting oriental synthesizers tunes.

four years in the making, analog africa finally presents the second volume of africas funkiest band, the mythical orchestre poly rythmo de cotonou. volume one (the vodoun effect - funk & sato from benins obscure labels, 1973 - 1975), released by analog africa at the end of 2008, was a collection of amazing lo fi recordings produced for various labels around benin. volume two showcases superbly recorded tracks, courtesy of the emi studios in lagos, nigeria, one of the best studios in the region. all tracks here were recorded for the mighty albarika store label and its enigmatic producer, adissa seidou.

this release is a very special one for us… indeed, roskow kretschmann has been for years one of the music makers that surprised us constantly and teased our appetite, displaying his rich musical background inside of projects like jazzanova, kosma or sygaire. the tracks selected by dairmount (after hours hanging out in roskows sound lab over the years) are genuinely outstanding in his entire discography. they sound like no others and reveal rare aspects of his >musical persona<. this is why they are representing perfectly our quest for >hybrid club music< crossing the lines of the original spirit of house & techno. the ep opens with the futuristic techno soul of the time is now. perfectly named, the tune fuses with class, dusty jazz samples, obscure soul vocals, juicy claps and overwhelming detroit techno keys. the result is a timeless club monster for the deepest moments. the second track that blasted us is mono:poly rightly shaped for audacious djs that enjoy to play >special< things. the track is supported by a solid programming as fellow beatmakers like mark pritchard, recloose or kenny dope originated in the 90s, mixed with biting analogue pressure, crazy batucada elements & a magic breakdown for all the lucky ones that will play it in the sunrise this summer. and last but not least, one of the label mavericks, marlow created a hell of a remix by delivering a 10 minutes techno epic that would make our detroit godfather c2 blush of satisfaction. thanks to all of them for the fantastic music

with half a century of existence, beninese band poly-rythmo can easily be considerate as legends of the african music alongside sela kuti and tinariwen. drawing their name from the extensive mix of influences that forged their sound (american soul and funk, nigerian afrobeat, french chanson, congolese rumba, etc.), they are known to be impressively productive as they released from 1969 to 1980 hundreds of eps and dozens of albums. in 2014, orchestra conductor florent mazzoleni visited the band and decided to produce this new album recorded in the legendary african studio satel. with its warm tone and mastery of rhythm variations, Ômadjafalao (watch out) will instantaneously become a classic of afrobeat and poly-rythmo will share their warm joie de vivre with thousands of people
