yet more italians on optimo trax! jose manuel delivers 4 unique exotic, fourth world, tribal slabs of ritual music. a1, the great beast in outer space is actually an andrew liles track that jose has completely reworked and sprinkled his magick on. mr. liles is one of my favourite producers in the world, both for his solo work and for his input into my all time heroes nurse with wound. for those who know his work, having something by him that will work on a dancefloor may bring a smile to your face. thankfully i know him a bit and he was more than happy to grant permission for this to be released. a2, folklore is fourth world exotica reimagined for late night dance rites. aa1, ritual, is exactly what the title says it is. aa2, sisi leaves the dance floor completely and even though optimo trax is 100% aimed at djs, was simply too lovely to leave off.

manuel sahagun is considered one of the exciting new talents in the house music scene. he started in 1998 experimenting with his computer and exploring djing as a hobby, playing around with sounds that went from house to techno. influenced by artists like dj dan, derrick carter and dj sneak, he acquired a taste for funky and deep house. starting professionally in 2001, manuel positioned himself quickly as a house music reference among argentinean djs.

the time has come to welcome jacob korn from the uncanny valley in dresden to the mild pitch camp.weve been eager to work out an ep with jacob since his amazing live appearance at our labels first anniversary party in 2010 and at last,it is here!expect the funkiest ghost train ride ever,accompanied by remixes from funfair operators manuel tur & langenberg.we just love it.

manuel tur returns to delusions following his recent classic most of this moment on freerange and proceeds to throw another whacking great curveball for those who have think theyve got his game sussed. its quite safe to say the last year or so manuel has continued to push and redifne himself as a producer, refusing to stick to one sound or repeat himself which has resulted in some amazing releases aswell as some fruitful collaborations. recent remixes for permanent vacation, diynamic and dixons philomena label all display his deeper, left-of-centre and more techno-edged sound. here on delusions we have the (bi) polar opposite in the form of the foolin ep. the title track is a beautiful slice of soul-drenched house which goes for a classic sound with simple horn chords, rolling bass and incessant claps spicing up the groove. a simple vocal refrain is spun in like a dj drops an accapella and once heard this will be stuck in your head for days. a firm fireside favourite with all of us here at dog. theres also an instrumental version of foolin for those with vocalitis. flipping over we have the traveller which sees manuel head down slightly more familiar territory with a heavy, lo-slung groove providing the backdrop for some axelrod-style strings and horns, live bass and floating vocal adlibs. a subtley haunting soundtrack feel pervedes as the arrangement developes but the relentless driving beats make sure this track never strays far from the dancefloor.

nasty four tracker of subdued detroit minimal house from newcomer silivo manuel. silvio touches on a range of motor city vibes here, ranging from the moodyman styled atmospheric disco of the dark mind that is carlo marx to the haunting, minimal drums and native american chants of the dance of the ghosts.

wind of change is a massive slammer that already proved itself as having a huge impact over dance floors across the globe, with its twisted trance melodies, stable groove and electro and house influence, incl. a powerful remix by the amazing israeli duo brisker & magitman, logiztik sounds then turn in a tech prog stunner!!

label owner glenn wilson kicks of his 2006 assault by teaming up with stockholm new breed manuel fuentes. a1 sees glenn lay down a slamming stripped down twisted fat cut, >make um clap< which rips through some analogue sequences and pitched voxs, while keeping some solid twisted funky edits this cuts never eases up from start to finnish, manuel pumps the b1 with unity a fierce slammer which breaks down into nice grooves while layered with funky drums and percussion. glenns >we got too< cut, completes the release with once again a tough voxed workout appealing to the harder funk mob
