two productions for todays dancefloors from samuel. these are rough and rugged club tracks built from hardened rubber, with plenty of rhythm and a melancholy edge, and they dont sound like anything else. this is the first time ive released another artists music on not so much and honestly, i cant think of a better way of doing it. im very proud and very excited.
samuel dan needs no instructions. born and raised for the groove he delivers a massive 3 tracker w/thomas gandey (get physical) and deephouse charts are ready for some action!
based in copenhagen, denmark, copenhagen underground posse (c.u.p.) is the first label on the new underground quality distribution run by dj jus-ed.c.u.p.s focus lies on the local scene in copenhagen and is dedicated to show the world what the scene up north is about. the debut vinyl liderlige rytmer del 1 af 3 is a four-track v/a featuring local heroes 2400 operator (uq), samuel andre madsen (uq/balance/concrete) and new talents kasper marott (c.u.p.), supertonic (c.u.p.), a remix from the label owners daniel savi and daniel bruhn jensen aka dee brown backed by yet another remix from jus-ed himself. the release is a horny package ranging from prime-time analog acid, hypnotic melodic house to deep, rolling beats.
for this release we have 2 of spanish hottest producers for you. cuartero from malaga and samuel dan from valencia both deliver 2 extremely funky tunes for the dancefloor. check out pareja de tres, what can u do, seres and soluciones!
already played by mathias kaden, lauhaus, kabale und liebe & julien chaptal samuel dan drops his debute on soweso! two amazing originals with undeniable funky rhythms and crazy fx. on remix duties are two big talents and friends of the label. first of is cadenza artist andrea oliva from swiss and the second remix is by amsterdam underground dj efdé. both remixes are not to be missed!
the last release before we hit the big five-0 here is samuel dan who had previously released together with darlyn vlys on our sub label sweet & sour. he has also shown his face on syncopat, dirty bird und off recordings. with the title track >i hear voices< samuel leans out from the dj booth and gives the vjs something ravey to trigger an emotional parade ... while he hears voices, we see stars. >on the dancefloor< and >do it baby< take us to the next level of this olympic exercise!
this killer ep from samuel dan starts as it means to go on with the massive sample loops, and has been custom-made to keep those hands in the air. an infectious, bouncing bassline ebbs and flows through the track, while the tight percussion will keep those feet pounding the floor. octad and phiorio take the controls for the third track. their remix of wake up call is stripped down and funked up. like a prime larry levan cut, funk, disco and house collide but without the mix ever becoming cluttered. the elements are used sparingly and to devastating effect. last but not lease we get samuels original mix in which the brass instruments take centre stage, with trumpets heralding deep bass grooves. they are going to be rocking this one down in the treme. bring on the summer! to finish off this ep in style, heres the floor-filling back home. its immense builds and eminently catchy hooks are guaranteed to spread smiles across the dancefloor like a disease.
the three tracks for this release go through a wide range of our sound. >cyclone< by samuel dan and feygin is a throwback to the way dirtybird records sounded back in 2006, raw and fun with big drums. but >cyclone< sounds amazing compared to the sound quality of some of those old records we all love, a definite update to the old db vibe. b-jus >babbel net< is his follow-up appearance to last years bomb track >my sneakers< that all of us played 1000 times. this is more in the smooth 808 style of dirtybird while still giving you some punch and melody. this record works really well for me and this groove crossover into a house set no problem. last but not least is maelstroms >you play<. this is a real monster, not so much for the house heads but instead for those of you who like to cross genres and explore the bass regions during your sets. definitely not your friendly deep house record this one is a real db banger in the tradition of big dirty bass we love here in san francisco.
support by: reboot, audiofly, dj t., michel cleis, gel abril, brothers vibe, ekkohaus, phil weeks, luca bacchetti, daniel dreier, toni rios, andre crom & many more ... bomb alert! for >bad habit< affkt and samuel dan get to work on one of the biggest vocals of house music, turning it into a pure underground club anthem. if youre not dancing to this you re dead. on the flipside they give a showcase of their much deeper side with the jazzy discoish playful piano madness on germinia, and the relaxed summerish deep groovetool that >forlyn< is. and if youre up for some real oldschool madness in early 80ies hiphop style, try the vocal version of germinia. altogether a very diverse release that shows a stunning combination of clubfocus and musical skills...!
the two spaniards darlyn vlys and samuel dan tell their tales of when they met with the japanese >aoyama clan< on the >upon you- sweet & sour 03<. samuel had previously changed his name, he used to be known as samuel knob, resident dj at the >barraca< club in valencia and the >electrosplash< festival.

ltd summer 2016 deal.. its a really clever go lucky move that the never resting glückskind founders michael klang and jürgen kirsch got samuel knob on board. the valencia-based producer really knows how twist those knobs to come up with the craziest noises. his skills, honed during his residency times at barraca music and narita club, are perfectly put into use with this crafty release that should have people dancing on the roof tops--naked. samuel, a drummer who jumpstarted his musical career at the age of sixteen in a pop-rock band, is exploring the outer realms of percussive beats, incorporated in a tight yet not at all minimal sounding house construct. inspired by his father who is also a drummer and programmer, he does not hesitate to foray into unknown dimensions, making this eleventh glückskind release a very special piece of black gold
elephant moon continues its steady schedule of releases with a brand new ep from label owner john dimas and danish talent samuel andre madsen (aka s.a.m). on this fresh new release we re treated to two tracks from monsieur dimas and two from s.a.m. to open we have a quirky little space jam called moon patrol by john dimas. it has chunky percussion at its foundation with off-key chimes and cosmic pads giving it an interstellar feel. samuel s reshaped for moonwalk mix puts john s mix on a diet, making it far lighter and focusing on the ethereal elements turning it into a sweet galactic ditty. on the flip we get a sombre bossa nova ride from s.a.m., all jazzy with a grooving bassline and galloping beats. its a cool, laid back riddim from the dane and were sure youll love it. john dimas gives the track his own monday mix, bringing the tempo down even more and crafting a delicate heady rework.
after the first collaboration on samuel deep s native tribe ep, these infamous jungle brothers decided to do a full ep together. when together they go by ingi visions and have a unique heavy underground sound made for dancefloor destruction. the -get slapped- ep features two solo tracks as well wich really represents their own styles. u can expect a lot more music from the brothers in the future

THE MAN WITH THE CASE (REBOOT, STACEY PULLEN, SHLOMI ABER REMIXES)
12 Inch 16.08.10
only for an artist like samuel l session and on labels like be as one, you could put together a remixes pack with some of the most genre defining producers in the dance music of the recent time and beyond. such is indeed for sls album the man with the case remixes pack. on the a side you have label boss shlomi aber, soon to release his 2nd long awaited artist album on ovum, who has reworked big bad drum in a jazzier, dubbier vein. damage is assured on the dancefloors. cadenzas main man reboot takes samuels the soloist and turns it into an hipnotic techno journey, something very different from what frank is known for. stacey pullen needs no introduction, being one of the leaders of the second wave of detroit techno hes a legend in the scene. with him, sls sections get reworked to a new high. to close the package, the soloist get remixed by sls himself, and its turned into a new dancefloor groover, bearing once again the swedish master imprint.
samuel knob funks his way back into barraca music via his tracks & bonus ep w/ uner & edu imbernon remix. a slice of grime for the dancefloor bound to gag and bump skirts in the air. how about adding two of the hottest names uner & edu imbernon to the mix and humping all night long to space loops and hammering percussive grooves. well the answer is clear...

another legendary techno producers deliver the goods on be as one. this time is swedens own samuel l session with 2 singles straight out of his upcoming first ever artist album, soon to be released on the israeli label. big bad drum is exactly what the title says, a drums driven track with a bassline reminiscent of saundersons e-dancer techno. already tested by a few lucky ones, this tune is having a monster impact on the dancefloors with its funky snares and distinctive over voice . chimes still carries an old school vibe, taking a classical and deeper approach. sls sound at its best, reminds us why the don has been here for the last 15 years. a solid preview of what to expect from samuels album, classical groovy techno which reminds us how real techno is suposed to sounds like. forthcoming on be as one in october.
