1970, ethel agee, a local self-taught musician, and her two brothers rev. dorosco scarber and preston scarber hit the studio and recorded ethel s original composition traveling home-, a gospel piece that has remained under the radar until very recently . ethel s on piano playing as her and her brothers vocals soar above rock solid chugging funk drums, way ahead of their time.

geerson makes his debut on the label with the >undoing time ep< featuring 3 originals and a remix from long-time collaborator, blicz. the frenchman shot to fame back in 2019 with the inclusion of his track >eleven roses< on amelie lens fabric presents mix, and has gone on to sign music to high performing labels such as ismus, arts and outworld. co-founder of paris-based xperience collective, he regularly plays across europe and beyond. opening with >undoing time< pounding industrial beats marry with funky sonics for a proper dancefloor workout. on >crazy with the all squad<, scattergun hats and a repeated vocal create the peak-time mayhem geerson is best known for. for the remix, blicz takes on >crazy with the all squad< and transforms it into an epic broken beat monster that mutates again into an end of the night sweat marathon. finally, >no limit for my dream< powers into life with heavily overdriven kicks and a bassline that literally compels you to dance! the breakdown midway acts as brief respite before descending once more into dancefloor carnage.

*refugee camp (bootleg versions)* is a remix album of a song selection from the refugees 1994 debut *blunted on reality* and follow-up *the score*, released in 1996. the album features eight tracks, including seven remixes, and one new recording.

blunted on reality is the 1994 debut album by wyclef jean, lauryn hill and pras michel, collectively known as the fugees. the album contains less political lyrics than their second album the score, but there definitively were political intentions.

a chance encounter at university during the acid house summer of ’88 and subsequent bonding over baby ford’s “oochy koochy” established a life-long friendship between leicester lads, jimi o’callaghan and al green. inspired by the sounds of detroit, early ny house like murk and masters at work and the emerging uk sounds of lfo, orbital and aphex twin, the pair began djing and making music as the wild geese. their first ep, “the wild geese ep”, was released in 1994 on their own giddy goose recordings imprint. the guys pressed 500 copies and, with jimi’s connections made interning with pete tong’s ffrr, sold copies direct to london shops. the record sported packaging designed to look like an american 12” and an accompanying press release attributed the ep to a fictitious dj duo hailing from wisconsin. rave reviews followed and a distribution deal was struck with vital uk, who produced and sold another 500 copies worldwide. another ep followed a year later. sadly, plans for a third ep on the label never materialized, but the pair remain close to this day. 24 years later we are honored to reintroduce this genre-defying, uniquely forward-thinking ep to today’s dance floors.

dating back to the fledgling early days of the label tales from the second moon by apogee was the first of many peacefrog releases by dan curtin. as with dan’s other early releases tales from the second moon ‘s angular dancefloor groove borrowed from the original motor city blueprint with a melodic sensibility that was drenched in the kind of yearning melancholy that suggested either pain of a heartbroken lover or the brittle dislocation of someone who longed to be transported to a distant galaxy. the acid, strings and complex rhythms contained on this ep originally released in 1993 were soon to become dan’s trademark sound. limited stock available. so be quick!
