“unsocial medias” is the new release by luc ringeisen, released via trim records. since founding the vinyl club record shop in ibiza in 2003, luc has made a name for himself in the underground scene throughout europe. now, with a series of strong releases behind him, but none since 2016, he has decided to release “unsocial medias”, the label’s second release after tijn’s brilliant “don’t stand still”.

drawing its energy from the rapid waters of the bio bio river and its grace from viña del mar’s golden sand, a secret society was born. and with its first release we get to feel this newborn record label’s mission: to bring together contrasts and smoothly harmonise them. extending on the whole a side we find sit’ near jam, provocative on all our perception levels, with sudden rhythm changes yet still loyal to its silky soft percussion. on the flip side funk e and luc ringeisen collaboration your house proposes a rough and ruthless bassline, high paced by uber obsessive hi hats and subtly softened by dreamy melodic bubbles. and how to better close this release than placing our states of mind into juice and bread, an enigmatic high altitude minimal landscape imagined by cleymoore and joaquin lledoo, filled up with buzzing sounds and washed away by strange windy loops. so this is it! secret society chile revelled its plans to the world: stay true to its chilean roots and expand its visions to far outer-lands.

rmxy by robert dietz & arnaud le texier !! born in france, it is in ibiza/spain that luc ringeisen founded the records store vinyl club in 2003, wich has been an important element in the spread of underground electronic music in ibiza (and therefor in europe...). the record label vinyl club recordings created in 2005 went immediatly succesfull and helped to discover some of the best underground music producers of the moment such as petre inspirescu, jonas kopp, and some of the best djsproducers of the world famous clud dc-10/ibiza (circoloco). luc ringeisen is nowadays resident dj at underground-club / ibiza and the vinyl club recordings events take place all over europe, having its main residencies in berlin (where the label headquarter is since 2007) and in ibiza. for his debut on safari he delivers 2 tracks absolutely pure quality.

after years of playing with the moroccan community of brussels, music maker and jazz musician luc mishalle knows every trick of the cross-fertilization of gnawa music, jazz & brass. gnawa is the northern african islamic sufi music with healing vibrations and spiritual lyrics, played by the descendants of african slaves. the album title “beats & pieces” refers to the collaborations with belgian percussionist roel poriau (think of one, antwerp gipsy-ska orkestra), tunisian electronic producer sofyann ben youssef (ammar808, kel assouf) and moroccan-belgian gnawa master maalem driss filali.

the nyc and berlin based group were invited to aurally explore the archive of the seminal french director jean-luc godard and release their interpretations in an innovative new album what we leave behind. drawing on godards personal collection of shot film, reel- to-reels and historical ephemera, the recordings reveal the moments before and after the camera rolls, from stage directions and on-set asides to rehearsals, false stars and outtakes.

luc van acker is all except an obscure musician. already from his solo records in the early 80’s he has been building a name for himself as a multi-talented musician and performer. when you are in the middle of the night, you’ll see the revolting cocks. the session on this record is from 1981 and thus a very early piece of music in the discography of luc van acker. for this occasion he has performed with live electronics, a violin and various other gadgets and tools. the music must be seen as somewhere in between old style industrial music (thus experimental) and modern classical music. this live performance takes the listener from rhythmic to the sound of the sound. the session has been tranfered from the original tape and is edited and re-mastered to make it available for a new audience. the liner notes have been written by luc van acker himself.

new years deal - a1 - luc marianni - six synthetic suites (anno stamm remix) berlin producer anstam’s remix of six synthetic suites is quite a trip. the producer has crafted a dubbed-out version, almost sub aquatic in its sound design, structured around a murky but driving techno beat on which he layers marianni’s sounds. exotic instruments, unusual timbres, daring melodies and even slapped bass: the contrast between these sounds and stamm’s grayscale groove is powerful. a2 vril - synthetic suite giegling artist vril uses samples from marianni’s six synthetic suites released in 1986 to produce this lovely slab of dub techno. carefully crafted, this track is all about soft edges, with a kind of blurry and hazy vibe that permeates it. a sense of motion is conveyed by the sparse but efficient rhythmic section, with chords and melodic elements giving the impression of floating. with much more contrast and complexity than it might seem at first listen, this is beyond your usual dub techno cut. b1 luc marianni - six synthetic suites (margaret dygas remix) also based in berlin, margaret dygas’ own remix of six synthetic suites is a deconstructed affair, built around a half step groove, ready to be used creatively in dj sets. somewhere between an ambient excursion and a more rhythmic jam, the producer uses a sparse palette of hallucinogenic, dizzying sounds with a dash of eerie darkness that gives this version a melancholic, unsettling nature. words by edouard isar.

we are particularly proud to bring you this 2xlp based on unreleased tapes recorded in 1975, way before mariannis first lp back in 1980! after 2 years remodelling the archives at jeangérards studio, they now deliver a brand new 75 minutes album, obviously not abided by any hype. not only does the music remind such bands like popol vuh or any grm act (where marianni taught himself), but also 90s artists like massive attack, boards of canada or even moby. although each track fills one side of the vinyl like in the 70s, you can listen to the detailed samples. check for instance a3 b5 c2 d1 and d2.
