damon wild and david sumner (aka functions) relationship dates back to 1991 at lord michaels future shock, limelight, new york city when damon was running experimental records via northcott productions. at the time, he first saw something in dave and added him to brand x, a record pool run by moneypenny. but their bond is based around a period 5 years later when dave had an apartment above rogue music at 251 west 30th street in midtown, manhattan. it was during this time damon developed him as a synewave artist and released his first ep as function in the fall of 1996 catalog number, sw-24. falling in and out of touch over the years, across continents, the two have somehow remained on the same cosmic path. so its not a coincidence that now damon has turned to dave to release his first album in 13 years, during the time he is reissuing that first synewave ep on recompiled i/ii & ii/ii (a-ton lp02/03). this is where those paths cross again 21 years later, this fall, dave will release cosmic path on infrastructure. the cosmic connection.

fresh water is the debut work by london based musician and visual artist, jake marshall. across eight tracks marshall twirls and bends his sound palette around motifs of emergency and crisis, “i was interested in distress sounds, sirens, flares etc”. the many sonic limitations in fresh water demonstrate marshall’s uniqueness. all kinds of plastic, caustic sounds, german ambulance sirens, bleeps rattling off unknown morse code, the highly synthetic strings emerging from the silence, it creates a somehow organic yet inhumane, but addictive turbulence.

a true work of art - opening things up in epic fashion with the lucid dreamscape. another adventure for maximilian, another expertly curated ep touches down courtesy of evideon studio records. somehow, the world keeps turning and with it the mikrokosmos universe keeps.

charles duff and daniel fisher have known each other since well before their respective forays into dance music. they serendipitously crossed paths at some point in the early 2010s with mutual friends in the nyc club kid scene. shortly thereafter they realised they both were keen to ditch the vapid hipster bullshit that had fueled their early careers thus far in order to pursue something pure: techno. mind you, this was at a time when it was not terribly cool to be into underground dance music. if anything, they both were greeted with massive skepticism from their peers but that didn t ultimately deter them. both went from relative obscurity to regular slots at berghain. and for two american kids musing in a pathetic bedroom studio, this was nothing short of a dream come true. a prophecy had been fulfilled. the two tried their hands at numerous attempts at collaboration over a 5 year period but nothing seemed to stick. most of it sucked horrendously according to them. but not on this occasion. the stars finally came into alignment and they were able to execute a concise group of tracks that finally made sense together. which brings us to threads. threads, an homage to the uber-dystopian bbc docudrama from the 80s, sums up their dynamic approach to tracks. it s an alienating, sinister take on techno that somehow manages to not fully lose faith in dire times. much like life today.

tapan are back with their first release since their debut album europa. after that 2xlp emotional and epic journey they are now showing us again their dancier side with two cuts the beast (featuring serbian musician jan nemecek) and ghana. both tracks are not easy to categorize. perhaps industrial-inspired tribal-trance is the closest description, and yet somehow after listening to the tracks it feels like trying to put it in a box just dont do justice with the complexity of the music and its components. both tracks are remixed by 2 current favorites of the malka tuti crew - russian duo odopt who deliver an out-worldly idm monster of a remix to the beast, and italian-belgian duo front de cadeaux who pitches the track ghana even slower, adding more percussive grooves, a fat bassline and a whole lot of of sexiness to the brew.

once upon a time, the footjob crew moved into a new studio space in their hometown darmstadt. this location was previously used by a religious community that found its purpose in the worship of shiloh. phonk d and sascha ciminiera have somehow absorbed the spirit and created this ep as if by magic. in order to enjoy this spiritual journey even more, they asked johannes the wizard albert for his support. he was immediatly hooked, threw a few herbs together and brewed them a tasty remix

2019 repress! after the first 2 phil releases that both sold out in the first days we have phil 002 ready. jazzy and lush tracks that have a solid drive, but somehow seem to be so fragile that you instantly start to care for these tracks and want cherish them and put them on a special place in your record collection!. better life is probably the track that will turn most heads with its great dancefloor appearance, but lets not forget the other three tracks with their jazzy approach, such as the simply brilliant moody mode.

ltd 2019 repress , black vinyl - for all the acid that is coming out through this so-called -acid revival- i was somehow missing the good old hook of the 90s acid-techno tracks. after countless requests to do some new acid again it finally clicked with me and i had this - in my opinion - great acid hook to jump along to for the acid to the future track. i really love this one and it could ve been big in the 90s i guess...so hopefully this will click with the listeners also today :-) acid funk and acid jaxx pretty much speak for themselves and are funky groovin acid tracks with a more modern touch mixed with the old vibe flavour. machine banger is definitely on the harder side and was done for ferox this is acid... nothing else- va compilaton on kobayashi.hands up and have fun... we love and release on vinyl !
