restless mashaits hailing from geneva are based around the core of jil and stuf. they released a sizeable amount of new roots classics throughout the 90s and 00’s. recently becoming active again, they are best remembered for the sessions they recorded at kingston, jamaica in the mid/late 90s with legendary musicians such as vin gordon, deadly headly and dizzy moore. the original releases have been since long deleted, but some are now unearthed thanks to partial records. * lion’ from 1996, features the legendary jamaican percussionist scully simms (who recently passed away) and was in every box of all serious roots selectors back then. now long deleted, this will fill in the gap for the many collectors who have this on their wants lists. dub lion’ is a different dub version to the one previously released in 1996.

in a nutshell: mellow floating braindance, electro, quirky and wonky techno beyond standard schemes. a1 we start with sane - the hangover. this tune is made for quirkier techno sets. it is a funky wonky techno tune mocking around with a whistling lead synth on top of a tripped out beat. a2 next one is chordata - silent singer. electrobeats mark the rhythm for this progressive adventure into space. electro in the good old detroit or dutch fashion. a3 jochen heym is also featured twice on it. after his ep -sononaut- this time he brings a mellow braindance electro tune: floating soul b1 in addition b1 contains a remix of the cling clang ambient tune of the stonedwave005 => chip tronic transforms the ambient piece into a hectical electro tune. b2 b2 is the final tune. chip tronic - frequency modulated metallic wide hypnotic screaming leads are being carved into the listeners brain while being distrted and modulated by any means available. the number 18 implies => dark techno rhythms for wonky minds who love it more distorted.

two of the uks finest underground labels join forces and share their talent on this killer 12inch. from iib we have coyote s sin distracciounes, an upbeat sunkissed dancefloor meditation featuring the blissed out flamenco guitar of long time collaborator saro tribastone. futurboogies christophe remixes and chops up the guitar and adds some gypsymenesque organ stabs and layers of keys. futureboogies felix dickinson and jamie read drop the funky guitar heavy restless people. sublime chugging beats and a beautiful vocal refrain imploring slow it down creating a laidback house monster. iibs max essa puts his remix right in the middle of the dancefloor with straight up house vibes and extra percussion.
