wph kicks off 2015 with a new e.p. by the mighty luv jam from wales. living in a universe that is entirely his own andrew cole has cooked up two more of his ‘especially for wph’-tracks. one here at wph hq can only be flattered! ‘californian freestyler’ is the more peak time burner of the two, but ‘bmx bandito’ will not disappoint the more discerning punters out there either. on remix duty we find the main artist from our friends at uncanny valley in dresden, jacob korn. any work by jacob is always a treat and this here is no exception. flexing our digging talents we have also licensed a luv jam remix from the good people at panta rhei that was only released on limited 7”. we feel it deserved to be on a 12”, so there.

over the course of his twenty-plus-year-long career, luke solomon has made one hell of a name for himself: he has released dozens of singles and eps on labels like crosstown rebels, rekids, cajual, and playhouse, to name a few, founded his own imprint, classic, with longtime friend and co-conspirator, derrick carter, dropped four albums, and had a hand in well over 100 remixes. as one might expect, it is a tremendous honor to now welcome the veteran dj and producer to lph, where we think he fits in perfectly, despite being the artist in our ranks with the most impressive tenure.

all we want is vario volinski. you may recognize his name from one of the summer tunes of 2013 - falling in love. with all i want, mr. volinski created a tune that is more garage style than the things he did before. proving, that his previous summer tune wasn t a one hit wonder and that he surely is one of the producers to watch in the future. and pwu wasn t pwu if we didn t find a talented young gun as a remixer. so we found him. dan grassler. a guy from munich who convinced us from the very beginning. and his remix awesome!

after two strong releases on electronical reeds, the brussels based artist exon bacon inaugurates play label records with his latest ep, watching dogs. play label records is the extension of the collective play label that has become a key player in the music scene of brussels with more than hundreds of events to its credit. this first release sets up the artistic direction of this label that seeks to develop a real dancefloor approach and a strong party spirit.

lphs unpredictable sister label, lph white, is back with another juicy 12inch, one that marks the imprints first foray into japanese clubland. atsushi yano, a kobe based producer, serves up three, as the title indicates, chewy tunes, all doused with african rhythms and set ablaze with fidgety keys, chopped­up vocals, and groovy bass lines. filling the release out is jacques renaults no­nonsense, squared­up, lead­footed remix of stomping on the verge.
