after an excellent first release featuring freerotation lynchpin steevio, russ gabriels rivers of groove label returns with a pair of excursions into lush, bubbling techno from gabriel on his own. as a first generation uk techno stalwart, its little wonder that he can turn out productions as accomplished as these, but there s no sense that he s treading water. ambulate bears the hallmarks of modular production, all twinkling, morphing synth tones chiming around a delicate beat, while dover calling favours a snappier electro palette, but both stand out from the crowd for the sheer quality in the production, the warmth in the composition and the needlepoint focus given to every shred of detail in this crucial cuts.

this new russ gabriel 12 is the long awaited kick-off for russ’s new techno imprint, sestra recordings and marks his return to the techno scene. this release follows up the infamous >future funk volume 1< which appeared some 11 years ago on u.k. electronica label >input neuron<. russ is a legend whose career spans nearly 20 years. having started his ferox records back in 1993 he went on to record for the likes of carl craig’s planet-e, soma records, djax-up-beats, dave clarke’s magnetic north, morris audio, force-inc and countless others. russ has been hailed as a master of techno production by djs such as laurent garnier and richie hawtin and continues to push his music forward with this ep aimed firmly at the dancefloor.

russ gabriel is the owner of ferox and a techno legend in his own right. with releases on his own label as well some of the worlds best techno labels such as planet e, djax-up-beats and soma. we first welcomed russ to pariter with the release of ferox classics, bringing back some long forgotten ferox tracks for a reminder of just how good techno can sound.

this release shows the gratitude to one of the legendary labels and techno artists, ferox and label owner russ gabriel. the first release on this highly influential label was back in 1993. after listening to the infamous mixmag cd by richie hawtin, pariter label owner yossi amoyal was hypnotised by the way these ferox records sounded. ferox was one of the first uk techno labels. their sound was inspired by detroit techno but what they created was something completly new

big with laurent garnier, elliot dodge, angel molina, andy vaz, tomaz,… self defence return with more almost perverted deepness on our 3rd release. after lopaaz, don williams and russ gabriel on the first releases, sdf now strikes back with belgiums franco cangellis superb >raw emotions< remix ep. the mixes got re-emotionalized by dan curtin and russ gabriel who both are no strangers the variable world of electronic music – one could call them pioneers and thats clearly demonstrated in the result of these outstanding tracks. deep, groovin, nicely textured detroit funk, a very round affair and dj crate must have being the result. russ gabriel of ferox fame, recorded for most of the major techno forces of the 90s: carl craigs planet-e, peacefrog records, djax-up- beats, gpr, force-inc, soma recordings, new electronica and dave clarkes magnetic north, while dan curtin walked his path in the us with his own label metamorphic recordings, and with his profile on the rise, he eventually caught the attention of peacefrog in the mid nineties…

our third release is introducing to you more intensely the musical personality of dairmount, founder & a&r of our the label. longtime independent music activist born in belgium (formerly known as philarmonix), dairmount is a natural born “freestyler” who embraced anything soulful & groovy since the late 80‘s, playing & travelling the world for 15 years. hamburg is the city where he settled down in the last 6 years and 2009 marks the accomplishment of his personal dream to found room with a view, shelter of his musical fantasies. friendship & challenge are two values that defi ne phil pretty well so it is no surprise that musical collaborations & versatility tightly express his musical approach and personal ethic. after displaying bass-ment tale, an old school house tribute produced with his partner in crime marino berardi, on the fi rst episode of the perspectives serie, dairmount is presenting subakuatik blues on his fi rst ep. recorded in 2007 with his good friend ralf petter, an “old cat” of the hamburg music scene, this track managed to capture the essence of these great studio sessions : phil’s natural obsession to create hybrid club material & ralf’s amazing engineering skills matching perfectly to create this sub-aquatic dream that resulted in the track name. lost in the world of analogue synths of ralf’s studio, they created a 9 minutes odyssey crossing the lines between deep house, disco futurism & detroit infl uences topped by a surprising “ravy” breakdown. phil approached naturally two of his longtime favorite producers to give their own perspectives of the timeless feel of the original : russ gabriel, who phil has always admired for the depth of his output on ferox, planet e or his own soul on wax, has signed a beautiful version of the track. extremely subtle & hypnotic, this remix is a true blessing & a great pride. mood music’s honcho sasse, old friend of phil, retouched with lots of love & care the track that he went crazy for and even realised 2 vers

aubrey is a man on everyones lips at the moment. after nearly 25 years of releasing music, the south coast techno pioneer has just completed a busy 2013, including a remix for juan atkins metroplex records and is pushing his own dot records to new heights. here, aubrey has followed up his earlier ferox releases abstractions and inner feelings with two super deep cuts on this techno jazz fuelled 4 -tracker. on remix duties are label boss russ gabriel and his rt-transmissions partner germanys hans thalau.

3rd in the dot series sees a 12 min monster by aubrey, twisting and changing with a dark bass line and strange rhythms, this is one for 5 am on a big sound system.

searle comes back to mowar for his second release. while his mind transfer ep was a darker workout, his new she moves ep show a deeper dubbed side of his productions. the title track perfectly combines the dub aesthetics and simple basic channel effectiveness with sweet infatuating stabs and scapes. this ones for the deeper and more sensual moments on the dancefloor. melancholy goes even deeper emotionally layering a steady slightly jacking rhythm with edgy melancholic atmospherics and melodies. on the flipside russ gabriel, who remixed on the very first mowar release back in 2008, reworks she moves in a stripped hypnotic mover, slightly more thumping for those sexy hips. last track tunneling is what searle would call a 5 am groover for the die-hards who want to be embraced by the sensuality of deep emotional techno.
