nice price deal !!! xavi beat is one of the most succesful artists at fresco records having a career of more than 14 years as a professional dj , has released cosmic club fre004 and pressure fre008. he is the resident dj at cosmic club (girona) and lokotron (bcn) where has played with john acquaviva, francesco farfa, pascal feos, wally lópez, mistress barbara or funk d void in several times, also he is doing a lot of performances worldwide as guest dj. he generates sets of electronic and progressive house , with touches of minimal house , really a master behind the turntables.

following on from the very robust debut of his own label failsafe, juxta position deviates back to the more melancholic aesthetic with which he initially made his mark back in 2013 on mistress recordings. drawing palpable influence from ambient electronica like boards of canada, he then reframes the aesthetic, with the help of rhythmic anchoring, on the 12 minute opening opus eureka. however, not to disappoint lovers of the slightly harder, more uptempo, electronic beat, the flip then dishes up two significantly more pressurised techno pieces, the former made in belgrade more linear, the latter reimagined more flamboyant.

based in montreal, ombossa appeared on dvs1 s mistress recordings in 2015. the young and talented french producer is set to have his first ep released in september on fracture, with a remix from silent season s asc. the blinding flare of 61 virgins is an elegant techno trip, an ode that goes deeper and deeper during 8 blissful minutes where you lose your own sense of time. on remix duty, asc skillfully makes it weirder, for a first ep that will please the more daring selectors out there.

jonas friedlich, better known through mistress recordings and carl gari, releases his first solo 12- on molten moods. the versatile 4 track ep starts with the rather straight -bo s breakfast- that begins with a polyrhythmic 303 bass line leading into a catchy garage-ish chorus, kicking in out of a clear sky but fittingly. -bus driver- is a wicked trip, the combination of the long acid build up and a nicely chopped vocal bit is irresistible. a proven, tested (and molten moods certified) club banger, regardless of its rather untypical breakbeat. track number 3 called -praise your name- aces groove through perfectly cut vocal samples and a fancy reference to 90s hip hop and drum n bass aesthetics. the next and last piece on the record is the eponymous -deskjet-, which is inspired by friedlichs conceptual sound art installations using printers. here rather restrained synthie lines are underpinned by a powerful kick and psychedelic tape delay noises. the 12- vinyl is handstamped on both sides. mastered and cut by scape mastering. artwork by paul bernhard.
