Ästheten der fehler waren geboren. losgelöst vom fließband. hart & tief wird geackert geschwitzt, gebimmelt, der filter aufgedreht, der schmutz schaufelweise rangekarrt, bis die stufe der erlösung erreicht wird oder eben halt auch nicht. das leben ist nun mal kein einziger orgasmus und der funk entsteht in den pausen wie die befriedigung der gier und der besitz des moments, weil das leben ist doch nur ein wimpernschlag und wir immer nur einen abgrund entfernt von weltekel oder erlösung.

australian label nightime drama, run by peter fincher (aka vibrio) and shaun franklin (aka trebek) now serves up its second standout release of 2016. this four track affair comes hot on the heels of the last by yoshihiro arikawa, and is a second release on the label by aussie live act, dj and producer trinity, with steven tang and italian based andee on the remix. trinity has also released on ooc, coincidence and android muziq and regularly performs all round europe. his sound deep and cosmic, heady and hypnotic, as the fresh tracks here prove. cascade drive is seven minutes of direct and elastic house with spacey pads and driving drums carrying you through the cosmos. from the earthmothern label and one half of rk s, andee strips it back to a slick rubber kick drum then layers in a forceful acid line and icy hi hats to really get you under its spell. the longform groove is physical and cerebral in equal measure. the next original is expansion, and again finds trinity serving up a hi tech and soul infused deep techno sound that is lithe and liquid, smeared with great pads and truly timeless. emphasis boss steven tang is the perfect man to remix given his style, and his version flips the cut into a more heavyweight and banging techno effort, but one that is just as littered with sci fi sounds, spaceship trails and intergalactic energies.

finish techno pioneer and dum records boss kimmo rapatti aka mono junk and melody boy 2000 is back with another fine ep of some of his greatest tracks. all three have been released before now, but never all together on the same ep. a1 sound stealer was released in 2007 under the melody boy 200 alias and since then has been hugely sought after, often fetching high prices on discogs. it is a high impact techno track with racing drums and chattery percussion that will take any floor by storm. a2 all alone, again as melody boy 2000, has only been released on cd before now, as part of a label compilation back in 2002. this one is deep and rubbery, spaced out and elastic and is full of moodiness and melody. both b-side tracks were written as mono junk and both were written in 1992. first up, apache acid came on vinyl own music man and is a face melting, hundred miler per hour banger with manic 303s buried within. finally, ‘beyond the darkness’ was a key early techno track to come from finland and has previously been released on dum010. says the artist of the track, “an ensoniq asr-10 arrived on the market and studio engineer perttu bought it right away, but i never liked to use sounds that someone else had made. we sampled the track’s bassline, strings and others from my jx-3p separately and mixed it all together.” the result is an atmospheric track with swirling pads, icy synths and form drums that will make people march, no doubt.

to mark the 20th release on essential house label holic trax, boss man tomoki tamura steps up wth his first solo outing on the imprint. coming on vinyl and digital, one of the cuts is a sample for you to use on your own tracks that you can then fire back to the label.

get on down is a heavyweight slice of storming jamaican disco-reggae heat from the legendary studios of miami s tk disco empire. king sporty s version may not have been as well known as connie cases electro laden later 1982 version (also produced by sporty) but the perfect marriage of disco stylings and sports jamaican roots meant the original 1979 version was a cult classic in underground deep disco circles. over 35 years since get on down was released the keepers of the tk disco vaults have given permission for some of their classics and lesser known gems to be respectfully tweaked by contemporary producers and dj s who fully understand the lineage of the label and the music contained within. stepping up and get his hands dirty is none other than london dwelling, wolf music man medlar. a regular face behind the turntables all over the world medlar has lovingly freaked king sportys anthem for the modern dance-floor, extending the right parts in just the oh so right way, dubbing out parts that needed just a smidgen of echo here and there and generally making the track irresistible to dj s with its lovely long beat led intro. these are extremely tasteful edits, done with respect and reverence over 2 parts old school style. look out for those low flying dubbed out vox and lazer beams too, powerful stuff! this is only one of many underground disco classics that the mighty miami based tk disco label brought to the world, reimagined for 2016s dance-floor, officially sanctioned in conjunction with henry stone music / tk disco. file under - classic / essential!

nice price deal !!! eine gelungene fortsetzung der 003 mit fast gleicher besetzung. andomat3000, der seit seinen releases auf cadenza usw. jedem tanzwütigen ein begriff sein muss, hat sich auf dieser scheibe mit einem neuen pseudonym, nämlich heinz-maria kubitschek, verewigt - und das mit einem kracher, der den glücklichen, die seinen liveacts lauschen durften, bestimmt in guter erinnerung geblieben ist. dazu gibt es wieder the crude guy und trainer aus dem hause pristine. bei ersterem hört man auf jeden fall den frankfurter einfluss raus, es hört sich teilweise an wie der junge väth, zwei sehr Überzeugende stücke die er da abliefert, für den dancefloor und auch die heimische couch bestens geeignet. and last but not least, das minimal-treibende kunststück vom trainer, wie auch schon auf den letzten releases zieht er seinen ganz eigenen styl durch und das ist auch gut so!
