on his new album, koks goes even further beyond his already drawn boundaries. there is a touch of robo-electro to tracks like *optimist never cries* and *sanesserarian* (a play on the phrase *ça ne sert a rien* or *it is useless*). he brings the ghostly sounds of german electronic pop into the dirtiest of hip-hop beats. and on his collaboration with rhymer doseone, *future confetti*, he gets lost in a psychedelic wilderness worthy of dj danger mouse.

messalina records return with a fantastic ep of eclectic dancefloor bubblers from fellow we love space residents jamie fatneck low and lucci capri (aka dj callum). first up is the eagerly awaited vinyl release of fatnecks incredible acid rework of michael jacksons classic billie jean, highly in-demand since receiving heavy rotation from greg wilson (the only dj lucky enough to have a copy) who nicely sums the track up...i love the way fatneck has put a somewhat psychotic twist on billie jean via his acid interpretation - inspired west yorkshire wacko madness! next up lucci capri delivers the quirky balearic chugger dame un beso, with super-sweet latino lyrics and a great reggae-influenced swing. flip over for the beautifully understated because today i saw u which melds a cool deep house groove with esther phillips yearning vocals. rounding off the ep in style is fatnecks superb dancefloor-friendly edit of the aretha franklin version what a fool believes. great stuff - welcome back messalina!

the release kicks off with title track find my way which features exciting young vocalist, ria morans heartfelt tones. cade opts for swinging 909 drums and a hooky bass-lick as the driving force, while morans voice sporadically eases in and out of the groove and understated chord stabs and tension building strings fuel the musicality, resulting in a classy, deep-house workout. up next is dr. fox, embracing a similar deep, contemporary house aesthetic, with saw-wave bass hits, cosseting pads and hooky vocal snippets acting as the fundamental elements of the cut, cade then plays on subtle variations in the groove throughout its near seven minute duration, to maintain an evolving dynamism and enticement. entering the latter half of the single we have ghostryder up first, cade opts for a more upfront approach this time, bringing busy drum programming to the forefront, alongside sweeping synth tones, a tom-driven bass line and dubbed out vocal licks.

in 2011 jaki whitren & john cartwrights original international times lp saw a release on emotional rescue after originally hitting the shelves in 1982. the pair are now part of a remix ep by misericord and one-time internasjonal producer al usher, who supplies two remixes and a dub, while a spacey aphophenia dub to the track times has added for extra measure. ushers first rework of stay cool sounds like a 2013 meeting between a purple-clad prince and a young diana ross, while the dub version sees princes funk make way for giorgio moroder sound design. on the flip is a acoustic-leaning and inspirational this time, which could easily soundtrack a mesmeric highway-driving scene from thelma & louise.

monitor 66s arrival onto the scene with last summers triscuits saw them pop up on a lot of top djs radars, such as the magician who opened his magic tape 22 mix with it. it also saw their first release on house of disco, their adopted home. since then the two boys from sweden have been honing their sound through a series of lauded remixes for tempogeist, kolombo & rythm operator. now after some painstaking studio time they are ready to release their next original work, their first solo ep, vitae on house of disco records.

the next sintope vinyl series release comes from damien roussel also known as the mekanism. it is a project founded in paris in the summer of 2011. his raw deep house sound saw releases with some of the world s finest electronic labels like need want, noir, electronique and under the shade.
small things ep includes two original tracks and two remixes - one signed by kolombo who brings up his mixture of electronic house and disco vibes and another one by ntfo & rhadow, a dancefloor oriented track that keeps a great balance between melody and groove.

more than six years into his career after several eps and a full album, there isn’t much known about ben gibson, and he is clearly keeping it that way with intent. gibson first emerged on jeff mills’ experimental, influential 6277 sublabel but then again vanished into the ether, he only reappeared three years later on perc trax, even more surprisingly with a full-length. since then, he’s gone on to steadily more notice with perc’s imprint, sect records, and most recently m_rec ltd in spite of the continuing lack of information. exposure isn’t the most important thing for us at chronicle though, and after hearing these five tracks, we saw exactly what it is that drew mills to him from the beginning. it is a sound that we find a perfect fit for the techno futurism of our chronicle series, and here we offer a platform for gibsons more sci-fi, ethereal sounding material, exclusively on vinyl for the fifth edition of our sublabel.

30 year old london born ali pearce, aka stealth is a dj/producer that has been on the scene for many years. his diverse style and maturity of sound has seen him successful in many areas of the drum and bass spectrum, achieving releases on some of the industries most respected labels including – v recordings, renegade hardware, subtitles, frequency, intasound and many more… after honing his skills as a teenager on the illegal rave scene in the late 90s, his early days as a dj saw him picked up to be a resident warm up artist for the legendary promotion movement, going on to play at some of londons top nightclubs over the years, as well as abroad, and hosting weekly shows on origin fm. the last few years have been focussed more and more towards his productions, allowing him to cultivate his skills as an artist, and securing dj support of his work from the likes of – andy c, chase and status, subfocus, marky, bailey, bryan g, calyx, teebee, dbridge, break, ulterior motive, zero tolerance and xtrah to name a few! the future definitely looks bright for this budding producer, as 2013 kicks off with an ep due out on subtitles early in the year, as well as material lined up for release on andy cs new imprint program, so keep your ears peeled!

virginia first saw light on ostgut ton featuring on steffis now infamous *yours & mine* album, her distinctive and powerful vocals shining through on lead track *yours* in particular. now virginia releases her first solo 12 inch for the label, featuring 4 tactile, pushing and lovingly produced tracks, exploring some of the different zones that she explores while djing.
