system status (david rendal) caught our attention in 2012 with his self released pistachio ep. his production stood out to us instantly and his musicality shows through in his compositions. tusk wax, giles peterson & ashley beadle have all been paying attention to his work over the last few year and this ep was an opportunity for us to introduce another one of his tracks to the dance floor.

toolbox is so proud of this wax. i discover somatic responses with their very first ep on cfet, and i still dig for any of their music. whatever it was with cavage, with ant-zen or with dbn. but its true to say techno became more and more rare with them. and this time we hang on with four unrealesed techno and hardcore tunes from somatic responses! the sound is just acid and crazy of course, but this is not oldschool, this is music, probably the best musical ep on acid night.

sometimes known as leandre, sometimes known as lee andre. the vibe remains consistent throughout with this jet setting house dj and producer whose blessed take on the twin cities of house music (chicago and detroit) has graced lefreq, loft66, minimalizm, house is a feeling. now very much a part of the vibes & pepper family, andre takes care of the labels sixth release with the backup ep with first editions of vp006 arrive with a thick slab of 180g wax. from the off, andre is in classic deep house mode, pairing crisp percussive grooves with warm keys and chords.

rsi is a new label affiliated to the tusk wax empire, and for their first release they look to the unexpected choice of the posthuman duo of rich bevan and josh doherty. hecatism sees the pair wander into deeper corners than their music is usually known for, trading electro breakbeats for a mid tempo production filled with resonant textures and vocal chunks that could nominally be described as house, while helioshock sees them break out the 303 for some heady acid grooves. the remixes of the title track come expertly chosen also, with disco bloodbath resident damon martin taking the track even deeper into something approaching balearic groove, and pork intl, who adds a distinctly more interstellar flavour to the original with its danny wolfers-style analogue house chords.
