dr. love is a veteran and key tastemaker / vinyl junkie on the montreal scene and laura ingalls is a wandering french person of no specific sex who has recently landed in the french canadian city and they both bonded over their love of anything disco and poutine, the main local dish which consists of potato, cheese, gravy and maybe sometimes added meat! dr love likes to dig but doesn t really produce while laura ingalls is not the most efficient digger and only seems to unearth old folk and obscure arabic music for their personal collection but has serious production skills.

500 copies limited edition! flash forward is happy to repress one of kerri chandler s most beautiful records.first come first served ! -black vinyl label boss alan russell first met kerri when alan was writing for echoes magazine and kerri was signed (by a&r man johnnie walker) to champion records in the uk. alan was interviewing dee dee brave at a hotel in west london as part of the promotion for her album on champion which was released in 1991. alan was already familiar with kerri s work such as superlover and set if off and with his productions on movin records, so asked about kerri and when told that he was also in london as part of the dee dee s tour, the two met and began talking. kerri was slightly surprised that alan knew all of his early releases and the two bonded. they met again in new york when alan was attending the nms (precursor to the wmc in miami) and stayed in touch. years later when alan had started black vinyl the two met again and alan asked if kerri would do something for his label. kerri soon delivered a dat containing these three tracks. the track my old friend was originally titled for my old friend alan , which alan shortened so it would look better on the label! the rest, as they say, is history.-

primitive trust is the coming together of two experienced musical minds. in one corner is will saul of the influential aus music empire, and in the other is tom mangan, aka tee mango, the producer who started millionhands record and clothing label. the pair met many moons ago and reconnected recently at a festival in morocco. they bonded over music, lunch and shared family travails - and as they both now live in somerset decided a little local studio collaboration seemed all but essential. between them, these consumate country gentlemen have seen plenty a musical styles come and go, so decided their best route forward would be to make music to please themselves. to that end, they holed themselves up in tee mangos woodshed studio with the following ground rules: they would make music only with the gear they had (mpc 2000, ableton, roland 101, juno, fender rhodes, various fx pedals) they would trust their instincts and go with first feelings they would embrace the joy of randomness if in doubt they would ask what would carl do? with that, you have the simple but effective mo of primitive trust. these sessions have resulted in a series of three eps to be released over the course of four months. each ep will feature 2 or 3 original tracks and one fresh remix, with unique artwork and an illustration by all-around visual auteur geoff mcfetridge. using the building blocks of house, and classic techno primitive trust can do zoned out and romantic, as much as driving and heady, but with an ease that comes from experience, years in the making. while tipping their proverbial hats to the past they also look to the future with their sound, mixing samples, wigged out synthwork and propulsive rhythms to create something honest and heartfelt that will stand the test of time

digitalism present their long awaited debut album incl. all the big hits. sure-shot ! there are loads of rock bands making music for the dancefloor. digitalism make electronic music that everyone can rock to. heres the first album from digitalism presented in a luxurious gatefold dlp !! for the past two years, they have been the go-to men for indie remixes, having reworked the klaxons, the test icicles, cut copy and the futureheads, to devastating effect. digitalism hail from hamburg. isi, the german born son of turkish immigrants, met jens, the child of a liberal family, at the citys underground solution record store. moelle was the first find employment there, towards the end of the 1990s. when he took leave from the shop to devote more time to his school work, isi filled. later jens returned, and the pair worked alongside each other: jens in the shop, and isi at the attendant record distribution business. they soon bonded over their shared love of dance and rock records.
