fort romeau continues to roll out thoughtfully detailed productions for ghostly in 2013. in march, the london-based producer released the chicago house influenced *sw9* single on ghostlys sub-label spectral sound, and showed his versatile house rhythms in july with its follow-up, the jetee / desire single. 2014 will see his debut album for ghostly — it is his second full-length record, with his debut album kingdoms being released last year on la outsider dance institution 100% silk. in the meantime, he continues to forge masterful house on this four-track ep, entitled stay / true.

following a busy and fruitful 2013 that saw the release of his exceptional second album half of where you live and shows worldwide, uk electronic artist gold panda next week re-issues one of his earliest releases, quitters raga. the two-track 7 inch, long since sold out, was originally pressed by make mine records in 2009, with the now-cult track still being a staple of the artists live set. newly issued on gold pandas own label notown recordings, the vinyl-only release is limited to 600 copies as a deluxe heavy pressing and features the original.

once again danse club records have unearthed a forgotten and sorely overlooked house track here, then they have enlisted a fine pair of contemporary producers -sqim and deepchild - to remix it and bring it right up to date. the original, whos dick is this is a 1994 kicking house bomb by the mysterious princess di, who released but three eps during the 90s on music station with this track being the pick of the bunch. german producer sqim is associated with labels like exploited and play it down and firstly offers up a ghetto mix of the track

no introduction is really needed for the massive balearic anthem *jibaro*. elkin & nelsons scorching latin disco classic hit big throughout spain, south america and nycs underground club scene in 1979 when this now rare and hard-to-find disco 12 inch version originally dropped, but it gained its real cult status after being picked up and championed up by the likes of rampling, oakenfold et al who who fell in love it after hearing it played by the legendary dj afredo at ibizas amnesia club. instantly recognisable and supremely dancable, this is one of the true heavyweights of the balearic scene - and a must have for any serious record collection.

ricardo villalobos couldnt resist the siren like call of mari kvien brunvoll. the result, *everywhere you go* - celestial voice resurrection mix and amnesia rehabilitation dub - should give some proper information about some of the feelings involved here, such as does the music itself ... being nothing less than magic.

the greater lisbon area is separated by the tagus river, north and south. bnm (blacksea no maya) are from the south side and pddg (piquenos djs do guetto) from the north side. this ep is the expression of work being done for the past couple of years through a monthly club night that put these crews playing together in downtown lisbon.

opening up the release is *der groove günther*, a stripped back bit of rubbery, supple techno. the groove sure is infectious, but it’s the way its detailed with such curious sounds – metal twangs, squelchy chords, icy hi-hats – that makes it so engaging. on the remix, tinush reimagnes the track as an even weirder thing. it’s all about micro-evolving details, subtle and inherent funk and keen sound design that is part shiny and stiff at the same time as being elastic and bendy.

almost two years after their austrian amadeus award nominated debut album *different believers*, allen alexis present their second lp *the other side* at the end of october, releasing it only on vinyl at first. the first extracted single *over the sea* is already in heavy rotation on the radio.
the name is the game, since this time a more different, club-oriented side of allen alexis was increasingly brought to the fore. musically, the album does not only live up to the musicians various orientations, but also to the multiple personality of the artistic character allen alexis, in which the de- and reconstruction of their tracks are being reflected.

in the long line of belgian talent finding a home on wph (think san soda, lemakuhlar, metrobox, locked groove, …) we are pretty sure that kiani & his legion (aka thomas neyens) will claim his rightful place within a couple releases. because just like the other family members kiani has his very own distinct sound. totally kiani and also totally wph. kiani & his legion should have already caught your attention with his free *records & culture* vinyl in wphs v.i.p. series and he was also responsible for *legions of the east* on the recent wph summer special 2013. being a vinyl lover himself it seemed fitting that we release his full e.p. debut on vinyl only (grey coloured & marbled), containing four tracks that will show you the full spectrum of his house music universe. the key words in that universe are melody, breakdowns, surprise and emotion. it is pointless to describe the tracks one by one, simply listen, enjoy and most of all…dance!

pulp presents the labels sophomore release called loves cosmos by us house veteran darand land. after delivering a top-notch remix for the first effort (pulp01), darand agreed to come up with an entire ep for the labels forthcoming output. the result is well orchastrated deephouse sounds with that signature darand land vibe. the opening track the long night and the follow up soothe me both have that classic american house vibe to it while the ep takes a more percussive route on tribute to ron and anthony. darand continues to show his versatility on the downtempo track cling to a cloud which has that dreamy touch to it. jose lau helps out on the b side with his mix of sunshine to peaches. all and all pulp is determined to set a very classic standard in modern house. pulp02 is being releaed as a vinyl only limited product. first come, first served.

the los angeles based steve huerta popped up on the sccucci manucci radar via his releases on the formidable amadeus records and dirt crew recordings, we tracked his progress and liked what we heard. a couple of months back we handed over the keys to mr. manuccis penthouse apartment and sl 230 pagoda to the young angeleno, and in-between being fitted for smoking jackets and hand made brogues he managed to get some productions complete with the results pressed up for the fifth release on manuccis mistress.

avotre goes from strength to strength with labelowner sante being busy in discovering great new releases and talents every few months. after roadtesting this tune from darlyn vlys (area remote, rawthentic) it was a must for him to give him a go on avotre. the infectious grooves and dark vibes of darlyns original are just made for his dj-sets. and definitely yours as well. on the remix you will fnd a avtr ( sante & sidney charles) which is more upfront and reminds on old warehouse raves.

deadbeats dub credentials are by this point are as solid as they come, and being asked to remix 2 of the genres heaviest hitters, not once, but twice is just about the greatest complement anyone in said position could ever hope to receive.

using rolling percussion and a thumping kick, primo really is unbeatable! luigi uses synth stabs that add character and finesse to this outstanding piece of music. hypnotizek rounds off the ep being more upfront about where its going. this cheeky, groove based track will warm up a dance floor quickly and get people in the mood for a real party!

the much loved nice n ripe sound is being re-visited by boston funksters soul clap. it is impossible to think of garage in the nineties without thinking of the seminal uk garage label nice n ripe, which started way back in 1993. from its beginnings in flat in finsbury park releasing the occasional 12 inch record to releasing a record per week under an array of different guises such as nice n ripe, nice n fruity, g.o.d. and zest 4 life, nice n ripe peaked in the years 1997 - 2001 when classics such as *together* by 24 hour people, and *industry standard* by industry standard featured on every dance floor from pacha ibiza to save the robots in nyc.

touching upon dance musiculatory milestones like detroit techno and electro, nsyde007 sees tyon, a well-known but besides this moniker for now anonymous traveller, summoning up atmospheres totally his own. this is space music. but not in the ra sense. take the a-side flaw 11, for instance. this is space music in the way it catapults you out, like the most terrible mistake made by man-machine, into the farthest reaches of an ever faster expanding universe, dark energy tearing at your nipples until they rip off, resemblances of melody orchestrating the drama/bliss of event horizon passage. its dark yet beautiful, like the smile on a dying persons face, and a heavily psychedelic trip at that – but fear not! you won’t be subjected to any despicable noodleage here, just to weird, intensely warped sounds you want to dance your ass off to. make it fat on the other side is the sci-fi equivalent to hänsel und gretel: a perpetuating feeding of the child-to-be-eaten. the finest in andromeda’s hyper-fattening molecular cuisine gets crammed into the gagging brat as doom is looming over its forehead. and with every spoon thats being recklessly punched into the poor little demon’s face it is getting closer to its, as well as the dancers ultimate goal: total nirvana. pressed on black vinyl.

simian mobile disco are back with the second in a series of collaborations, following on from sacrifice, their joint effort with bicep. this time theyve joined forces with cosmin trg fresh from his highly acclaimed album gordian on 50 weapons. the fruits of this hard graft in the electronic kitchen of smds studio (to push the food metaphor to its limits) kick off with surstro¨mming. this northern swedish delicacy of tinned, fermented sour herring has the dubious claim to fame of being the most putrid smelling food substance in the world. the burbling, queasy synth tones reflect the effects of this scent on all but the true connoisseurs

for its fifth release, brstl continues on its mission to unearth fresh and exciting artists from bristols electronic music scene, this time showcasing the debut release from idle hands employee shanti celeste. regular clubgoers in the city will have almost certainly heard her display her penchant for heavily swung rhythms in her dj sets, and her 12-inch for brstl manages to distil this passion into two elegantly produced house music groovers. recently unveiled on outboxxs podcast for resident advisor, the soulful new jersey-esque skip of >need your lovin< (baby) takes up the a-side, its gliding rhodes chords and playful melodies being propelled by a tough and irresistably funky beat that kerri himself would be proud of. over on the flipside, >result!< offers up a more heads-down vibe, channelling those swung beats into an upbuilding, synth-smeared house jam.

second part of this two episode series on subnet records. following the same flavour as before... dark textures and mental synth lines driven together by hard drum patterns and groovy percussion. these two ep reflect the creepy and insane behaviour caused by experiments in the field of invisibility applied in the human being. all the tracks were recorded live! just using analog sequencers, mpc, analog mixer and synths. directly to a recording device. in the same way as you could record a live set, to keep all the vibe as fresh as possible. 220 copies limited vinyl release.

first runners out from the free spirit society s newly moved berlin-establishment is johanna knutsson & hans berg. being the title-track of this 2-track 12inch, i buy pink sheet is just as funky and loveable as imaginable, a mechanical jacking housegroove surrounded with bits of melodic techno elements. rabbithole takes you down a more narrow and deeper path filled with expectations.

as the seasons change so does magic feets output, this release being somewhat darker and grittier, straddling the divide between new beat, house and techno. award winning composer antoni maiovvi creates hyper-cinematic, italo inspired electro.

after 2 years where the old stories were still being carried around and re-told over and over by the worlds discjockey the next mysterious deephouse raconteur finally adds a new tome to the old legend in his own distinctive, unmistakable style: while the narrative is effectively and assuredly driven on by a classical yet forceful 4/4 rhyme structure the vocabulary is more playful, experimental and abstract with melodic fragments evoking pictures of vast, futuristic landscapes and a mood of deep contemplaton and enlightened serenity. another satisfying pageturner

qbeck first made a splash on the international tech-house scene when seth troxler and crew released his track alice on a visionquest label compilation last year. now alessio mereu is pleased to scoop up the ukrainian producer for a full ep on amam, titled railway mood. eureka has an irresistible galloping groove, with an off-kilter tick-tock giving a countdown to eternity. soon, after the slightly unnerving melodic plucking sounds, you can hear breathy gasps punctuating the atmosphere as if a human being is trapped inside the track. and maybe youll get sucked in too!

when it comes to top class releases produced by artists who were already being brilliant when some of us werent even born, it doesnt get any more legendary than the great oliver lieb. renowned and gaining heavy respect for former projects like spicelab, the ambush, paragliders, l.s.g. and remixing the likes of moby, yello, human league, sydney label elektrax recordings is proud to present the electronic bigfoot to its label with a 4-track release, called *the prophet ep*.

with *imaginary beings*, his first release on chiwax, andy vaz, described by clone as being able to execute one of the best acid house tracks in recent years of hypnotic jacking acid just like armando and jack frost used to make once again comes through with the goods in full swing.

running back veteran mark e returns with a tribute to the uks black country and an ode to the industrial revolution. the images and histories of coal mines, steel mills and iron foundries north and west of birmingham and south and east of wolverhampton lay the foundation of the three track ep (including a work break siren). being a product of his environment, mark e delivers lots of sooty particle house music with a glimpse of sunshine. bostin!

egbert has been dazzling us with the speed at which he seems to have skyrocketed to being one of the worlds top players in the techno scene. within a short period of time he has managed to create a rapidly growing fan base who have all been avidly waiting for him to release an album for some time now.

the kicks started as a collective of different musicians, electronic & instrumentalists, that gathered together under one roof just for the fun of it, coming together and jamming at their own expense. a jam is a jam. theres no aim, no target. it is free from expectations and just like that the tapes piled up with no specific style or genre lines. whatever happens, happens is pretty much the attitude that created a label, not out of necessity but out of convenience of being free to release the more outstanding cuts recorded, regardless of their personal definition. the first release is from the curators and creators of the project, maayan nidam & alex picone. the record starts with the psychedelic tone of alice in the desert, continues to a still hypnotic yet down to earth 020 and ends with the stabbing butt shaker think about it. the next releases will continue featuring picone & nidam, joined by cool cats like aquarius heaven, san proper & cesar merveille.

ahead of the release of his debut full length, brazilian producer, club owner, businessman and dj renato ratier releases a first single from it featuring pillow talk and complete with a dubshape remix. as well as being a driving force at both warung and d edge in brazil, ratier has recently shown himself to be an adept producer with a great couple of tracks that were stylistically diverse. here the two originals continue in that good form

void coms is a label inspired by the work and theories of yves klein. kleins work revolved around a zen influenced concept he came to describe as *le vide* (the void). kleins void is a nirvana-like state that is void of worldly influences, a neutral zone where one is inspired to pay attention to ones own sensibilities, and to reality as opposed to representation. we hope to apply these ideas to the musical and identity approach of the label, letting powerful music speak above persuasive imagery & enticing embellishments.
homologous takes the form of 3 compositions designed specifically for void coms, with fis being heavily instrumental in the development of the ideology behind the label, as well as spearheading its musical direction.voidcoms001 has been mastered by matt colton at alchemy to be released on 12 inch vinyl with a laser etching of original artwork by fis designed exclusively for the release. further transmissions to follow.

killekill 014 is being delivered by alex cortex. on the a-side hyperfocus combines a heavily distorted kickdrum with uplifting trance chords and a breakbeat feeling as if this was the most normal thing in the world. the result is an outstanding anthem that can be used on all floors, whether they are techno, house or breakbeat.by force of attrition is a typical alex cortex-track, driving and static at the same time, slowly moving, hypnotic and deep. the b-side features a remix of hyperfocus by skudge. the swedish duo recently released an ep of alex cortex on their label skudge presents and in return remix this track here for killekill. they extract the breakbeat sounds of the original and use them for a warm minimalistic house tool driven by a smacky wooden snare.

after being released digitally only and really great support throughout all floors, tengue rec. decided to bring this disco-influenced bass driven house floor tool to all vinyl lovers and djs as well. so decide it yourself, pick it up and try it out!

last known trajectory proudly presents inkamera, the solo project of the multi-talented victoria lukas, who of course you may well be familiar with from her previous work as zerkalo, performing alongside the legendary gerald donald. here, the first inkamera release demonstrates victoria’s clear understanding of what constitutes a solid and balanced musical project – ‘superpartners (photon photino) ‘ and ‘&#1089,,,&#1084,,,&#1077,,,&#1088,,,&#1090,,,&#1100,,, &#1085,,,&#1077,,, &#1089,,,&#1091,,,&#1097,,,&#1077,,,&#1089,,,&#1090,,,&#1074,,,&#1091,,,&#1077,,,&#1090,,, (death doesn’t exist) ‘ are both pacey, electro drivers with a distinct european feel, the former being quite upbeat, while the latter rendering a slightly darker more sinister air. ‘i can speak’ provides a volatile contrast with its crazy, freestyle electro beats and rhythms, whilst both ‘human terms’ and ‘potentia’ showcase victoria’s quite distinctive, totally unmistakable, seductively hypnotic vocal to a backdrop of gorgeous electronics. a superb solo debut from lukas – let us hope that there are many more to follow.

hirofumi goto aka rondenion made his debut releases on still music back in 2005. shortly after, he released a streak of detroit infused house 12 on rushhour, aesthetic audio and more to great critical acclaim. a dj and producer born in japan. he began working as a recording artist in the late 90s under the name hirofumi goto, and released his global debut, >ameria ep<. it drew attention for its dark beats, unusual for a japanese artist, and was played by top djs like derrik may. he changed his name to rondenion to show respect to chicago and detroit, and began working on an overseas release. ultimately, his love bound ep was released by major labels such as >rush hour< and became a big hit. it reached the top on the rushhourstore sales chart, and became popular in europe. in 2012 he formed >ragrange symphony< with his old friends no milk and kez ym, and he is currently working on a number of projects for his own record label, >ragrange records<.after being approached by roundabout sounds for a remix, discussions shortly after were directed towards a plan for releasing rondenions debut album on both vinyl (roundabout sounds) and digital (plug research). the result is the luster grand hotel debut album, ready to drop in september 2013. luster grand hotel is the most accomplished project from rondenion, an absolute blend of detroit and chicago house, reminiscent of the music from moodymann, theo parrish and rick wilhite. a must have for any real house music fans.

nyta hails not from the big apple, but from bristol, uk. his real name is mensah anderson, who is also the seasoned producer that you probably know simply as mensah. the nyta guise focuses on being a fresh outlet for his 120 - 130bpm 80s electro, house & techno influenced tracks & creations. the new york transit authority name was first adopted for a split 12 release with conqueror (redlight) on redlightfs lobster boy label last year. his side was a slinky, 808 house number entitled *off the traxx*, which deservedly found its way into facts 50 best tracks of the year & was caned by a wide range of top djs across the globe, including joe goddard, loefah, redlight, boddika, jackmaster, disclosure, pearson sound, benji b & giles peterson to name just a few. nyta has already proven himself as a talent on the decks with sets across the world & two exclusives mixes: one for dazed & confused & ethe onef for fact mag that finished in the top 20 best fact mixes of the year.

cambridge resident samuel emerson iliffe, aka ill life, is driven by a penchant for warping things. akin to warping his sonorous surname into the ill life moniker, he warps formely innocuous techno fare into a clangorous, concussive march of living, breathing percussion. samuels sonics seemingly owe a considerable amount to recent innovations from the likes of blawan or perc trax alumni, however his only fault is taking part in the phenomenon of synchronous innovation. before karenn coalesced, before clouds newest offerings started being rinsed, ill life had long since moulded his sound. it is infinite machines infinite regret to have discovered him so belatedly. but there is no use crying over spilled trax.
