the cryovac machine operates independently to service the world with an original strain of techno. our people are pioneers of their own sound and seasoned veterans of its cause. this cause is the basis for our action and the motivation for our vinyl. cryovac believes the vinyl format is the truest way to take in our music, and this is why we take great care to personally craft our own plates and photograph our own art. the cryovac approach and stance make it a true oddity in a world of commodities, and we hope you realize, feel, and respect our work. andy vaz is a rebel from the city of cologne. he is a creator of techno labels that follow their own path and challenge the standard dogma. his version of the techno sound has gone from stark and funky minimalism to synth cascades and housey feels. andy vaz is the perfect choice to collaborate with andy garcia. garcia s brand crunchy soul tech mixed with vocal nonsense is the yin to vazs yang. these like minds share a name, a spirit, and a drive to keep moving forward no matter the cost.
with house warming andy vaz returns with his 3rd full lenght album on his own yore imprint. due to andys half indian roots, he is lucky enough to owe a beach house just outside of mangaluru, south india in the state of karnataka. where most parts of the album were written over a period of 6 months.
with *imaginary beings*, his first release on chiwax, andy vaz, described by clone as being able to execute one of the best acid house tracks in recent years of hypnotic jacking acid just like armando and jack frost used to make once again comes through with the goods in full swing.

7INCHES OF STRAIGHT VACATIONING (LTD 7INCH CLEAR ORANGE VINYL)
coloured 7" Vinyl D12.12.11

excellent deep house album. andy vaz s straight vacationing, his first full-length artist album, since the 2006 release of repetitive moments last forever…, registers as less a straight-up collection of dance-floor burners and more of a variety pack that mixes club tracks and full-fledged house songs. listeners hungry for just ordinary 4/4 throw-downs will not entirely get their share of those, but they ll also get a whole lot more on this dynamic and well-rounded set of eight album tracks and that is exploring house music not just as a simple one way street, but give you a very personal view of the music we call house.
the yore captain returns to his own yore imprint on the labels 21st release. shadow city presents different visions of funky house grooves. the a sides the y theme gets deeply moving with a funky house pulse before stoking the fire with the addition of speaking voices (trippingly intoning the q&a what are we doing this for? and the music), a move which single-handedly jumpstarts the track. after the voices appear, the grooves intensity escalates and plunges deeper, its gyroscopic house swing becoming more dizzying and torrential with each passing bar before coming to an acidy storming end. in its opening moments, shadow city opts for a deeper and more serenading vibe by comparison, but thats traded in for a slinkier attack at the three-minute mark that grows progressively more ferocious as the track makes its drastic upwards ascent. a trippin dangerous murder weapon to say the least. watch your heads! the b sides b2 track, mumbai dweller keeps the focus primarily on the bottom end, specifically a strutting tribal-house funk groove thats dragged even deeper by a throbbing bass undertow, adding dark chords to it, giving this ep a darker feeling towards the end. to sum it all up: this is raw house music at its best!
the label boss returns to his own yore imprint with another stunning solo release. these are different times indeed for andy vaz if the eps three mighty jams are indicative of where his musics heading. the a-sides over here (a glance over prime time mix) roars from the very first moment vaz unleashes its steaming, latin-tinged groove. a far cry from the techno the yore label head once issued, the tune finds vaz exploring straight up dancefloor territory with a dizzying house pulse that straight up rocks. melodies and voices rise to the surface of the dionysian broil and then just as quickly recede, leaving room for a driving bass line to gain the spotlight. the flips hurry hurry (before its too late mix) is classic deep house just as one expects on yore. a jazz-inflected strut with tilman ehrhorns sax playing, wailing over waves of rollicking piano playing and spirited vocal chants. the energy level doesnt flag for the discs final track, bygone times (nostalgia mix), which stokes a fiery house swing with its locomotive pulse, futuristic synth patterning, and high-velocity bass lines. vazs music has never sounded more impassioned and energized than it does in these three tracks and consequently, just as one might predict, different times feels like its over far too soon
yore returns with a true dream team split ep, pairing yore label head andy vaz with sistrum manager patrice scott. vaz is up first with a beautiful slice of old-school funk and soul within a deep house formula, >back to square one< that has a whole lot more in common with isaac hayes and james brown than with juan atkins or any other techno icon. accompanied by a wah-wah guitar figure and claps, a bullet-proof bass line leads a nine-minute charge thats quickly bolstered by a slinkily swinging drum groove. creamy synth chords and blazing horns intermittently spill over the pulsating mix and then vanish, leaving space for the rhythm to intensify and the track to grow ever more euphoric (and even, towards its close, a bit acidy). a true mission into both funk and house, which again showcases vazs ultimate diversity as an outstanding producer. scott titled his second sistrum release beyond deep and the title might just as easily apply to the b-side >aztecal< where the detroit producer slathers shimmering stabs and congealing streams over a thudding kick drum and flickering percussive detail. while vazs cut draws inspiration from the timeless traditions of decades past, scotts looks towards the future when its gleaming shuttle lifts off in pursuit of distant galaxies.
played by ricardo villalobos, richie hawtin , losoul, baby ford, bruno pronsato... aandy vaz is the owner of the background record label, hes a very talented producer who makes high quality and sophisticated house music. andy gives us the honor to do a 2nd ep after the very acclaimed >shrinking cities ep< (tel16) released in 2004. this new 12 different from the previous one presents 3 strong tracks and includes the hit >absence of the summer< that goes on the a side.

2015 has been a huge year for dj-kicks, marking both 20 years of the series as well as our 50th release. but far from slowing down, we’re already looking ahead to another incredible mix from one of our favorite artists. over the past decade, seth troxler has become a visionary and authentic voice in dance music, his jovial personality cutting through the noise and continually playing by his own rules. growing up between detroit and chicago, his musical education carries enviable credentials, with his stepdad a local radio personality who championed the early sounds of house music. true to troxler’s character, the mix has a whimsical nature and a thoughtful and timeless narrative, bearing a tenacious episode for the dj-kicks series that gives a true insight into the man behind the well-preened moustache and cowboy antics.
the double vinyl with 8 unmixed tracks includes the dj-mix on cd.
