EL CUBO EP
12 Inch
25.09.09
played by patrick lindsey, wehhba, ko kimura, pablo bolivar, ...
a1) nop, the tokyo wunderkid of japanese house music, delivers a percussive and groovy remix of the title track >el cubo< (the cube), which has already been getting plenty of pre-release airplay during his sets at the famous ageha club. a2) dich himself goes for a more funky house style with minimalistic influences and top notch production. b1) >lovely lady< - a slightly more up-tempo piece of minimal tech-house that draws heavily on latin influences and even reggae to slowly build into a solid house groove full of dub like reverbs and delays. b2) final track >el camino del inca< is pure modern deep, minimal-tech with splashes of dub. from the long droning synth to the noise and ambience this is exactly what you’d expect richie hawtin to drop these days.

LOCOMOTO

25.09.09
markantonios analytic trail label has been instrumental in creating what is now recognized as the neapolitan techno sound. the labels inventive approach is the key to their success. marrying raw basic elements with funloving party vibes, the label is a destination for djs wanting a bigroom sound. previous releases have featured the likes of rino cerrone, valentino kanzyani, the advent, davide squillace, and joseph capriati.
electric rescue has been at the heart of the parisian rave scene for the past fifteen years. cutting his teeth at parties at legendary avantgarde club >boy<, a career evolved fast, becoming part of the mentasm crew alongside laurent garnier and chaotik rames. since then electric rescue have released on many innovative techno tracks on high profile labels including fcom, afu, yellow label, eterno and his own skryptom imprint.
the flash tool is a simply constructed but incendiary club tool. deploying a limited palette of elements to create an earcatching track, the use of heavy kick, undulating bass, ever rising synth lines and wildly distorting pitch tones screams dancefloor impact.
las castagnettas is nothing short of a mainroom monster. uncompromising and direct with a raw, assertive energy this is inyourface ravetastic techno. booming beats and abrasive sounds set the tone but this is all about the supersized bass stab. watch out..
saving the title track for last, electric rescue unleashes the beast that is locomoto. industrial and uncomplicated, this 4am bodyshaker is packed with plenty of percussive punch and crowderuption moments to ensure maximum effect. file under >encore tune<.

CARBON BLACK (10INCH)
10 Inch
25.09.09
minimal music has the reputation to create alot of little. alexander pavlenko, a talented producer from ukraine, is here to change all that and even raise the bar while he is at it! you cant deny this young mans skills for production and minimalism, no cheesy lines, no blips and blobs that we all heard a 1000 times allready. >carbon black< is one of those tunes you will instantly remember.. it sounds so crispy, so clean, so... pavlenko.. and it sticks inside your head like chewing um sticks to your hair.. the flip is no different. on >error 99< pavlenko keeps the drive a bit lower but the effectiveness is immense. dark vibes combined with even darker basslines make this one error you cant call the helpdesk for.
CHADDERTON
12 Inch
25.09.09
mark stewarts first new material for 2009 has been a long time coming and features three new tracks recorded earlier on this year.
>chadderton< on the a-side is an astonishing slice of deep and woozy midnight house, complete with sleazy chords and a frayed spine that is primed for peaktime narcosis.
>above< opens the flip with relentless chords and a shuffling percussive line that never lets up, while >great day< closes the ep with a cathartic spell that ends almost as soon as it begins, letting in rays of sunshine through the dense thicket of sound that preceeded it.
lets give kitkaliitto a warm welcome! instantly impressed by these guys music we were – quite unique and not easy to classify. so this is their debut ep – coming straight from helsinki with love, three tracks and a remix. you can hear influences and samples from deep movie scores, downtempo, house, even big beat always escorted by some factor for self destruction. the remix of moravia by sevensol & bender shoves a rough house skeleton under tom pavlas fantastic trumpet – simple, raw and beautiful.
dave horne gets under his djh cloak for this one sider release on method... pounding melodic house music
VANISHED BETWEEN EP
12 Inch
24.09.09
perc trax returns with its 30th vinyl release with a split ep showcasing the works of both its newest and most established acts.
first up is ben gibson with 2 tracks that feature on his forthcoming perc trax album >in a realized luck of immanence<. both tracks instantly demonstrate what made jeff mills sign ben to his axis offshoot 6277. bens sound is a dense, atmospheric take on the now-classic uk techno sound of surgeon, regis, ruskin etc and both the rolling bass of >vanished between< and the sharp stabs of >wirklichkeit< prove that he is an artist to watch out for.
on the b-side label boss perc hooks up with the labels canadian connection metalogic to deliver 2 tracks that flit between broken beat and 4/4 rhythms with ease. both tracks feature an attention to detail that both perc and metalogic are known for with endless dubbed out synths and effects keeping the tracks interesting but never getting in the way of the crisp beats. these tracks have already been road tested around the world by perc in recent months and will be a key part of a launch party for this ep in toronto in october.

TU SUENO EP
12 Inch
24.09.09
as the european summer draws to a close, the next rekluse release takes a brief change in direction and offers up something a little lighter to accompany the last of the hazy rays. after the previous electronic madness from simon stokes, mr copy, loco & jam and kiko we are joined for this release by la based artist erphun.
erphun has had a pretty hectic summer himself, appearing on steve lawler s viva , dave seaman s audio therapy , oliver huntemann s ideal audio and stephen bodzin s hertzblut . not a bad run at all. with previous releases and remixes on mutekki , saw recordings , excentric muzik and forthcoming releases on bedrock (+ john digweed s new comp) as well as 8 sided dice , this guy has had a busy couple of years...
to complete the package mr henry von (joint label owner of rekluse with fergie) has reworked tu sueno, giving it some of his trademark bite and re-marrying the vocal to the breakdown, keeping things shaking until there is no where left to go but to bring that beat straight back in...

suitably by the summer, the aspekt label is back with a hot and groovy summer bomb by digitalreport - gramophone ep. >odyssee< on site a is a charming techhouse track that tempt one move into holiday mood. served with an awesome deephouse remix topping by marc poppcke. the great summer vibe techhouse tune >ride like capone< on site b lets the sun rise and the people dance. the remix by marico kantana & sebastian bosch is an excellent deephouse number ideal for dreaming.
nice price deal !!! from somewhere between then and now comes the first of the thirteen black editions. dismissing the present as a mere distraction and searching the past for a way to the future. black editions a travels to the pyramids to untomb an exercise in kinetic psychedelia. black editions b is a stately & sophisticated funk excursion. no map, no compass, just the stars as a guide.. welcome to the night.
this release has the new single >100 mph< and 3 rad remixes. the original track rocks amped up vocals with a chicago house groove, and the remixes change it up completely. the ac slater remix adds a bit of fidget and steps up the dub, making it awesomely crunchy. ocelot switches it up and stretches the track into a 7 minute journey, adding a bit of a harder edge. finally, free blood takes things in a more digital direction and injects a slightly darker feel to the track. there s something for everyone on this 12 inch and you need to pick it up.

VEHEMENCE OF SILENCE / MOTOR CITY DRUM ENSEMBLE RMX
12 Inch
23.09.09
andré decided spontaneously to record fresh material especially for the label, more than 6 months before our fi rst release. this says a lot about the common trust that was born that day, much before the hype surrounding the man. the result of this saw the light some weeks later in the form of vehemence of silence, a track of indeniable power which breathes long years of djing & berlin afterhours as much as uncovering close impressions of andré’s emotional outcome. this is what made me feel that track like a whisper to my body & soul and what makes me so proud to release it today… more than 10 months down the line, andré improved it, tested it on the fl oor till a fi nal club listening session in the middle of the berghain dancefl oor where we both knew it was ready to be shared… this special track needed of course outstanding alternative perspectives and it didnt take me long to propose my old friend danilo plessow amongst andrés favorites to give it his magic : motor city drum ensembles version translates an unexpected techno jam reminiscent of the best early soma days. the ep is completed by a second original called dark edge, a sophisticated & raw deep house joint. a&r and words by dairmount

SUPERMAN / RANGE
12 Inch
23.09.09
following on from his recent >obey / resurrection< single which continues to receive phenomenal dj support, robert hood returns with the next release for his formidable m-plant label.
the rhythmical adventures of >superman< immediately grab your attention as hood shows us once again how it should be done. with his signature stripped-down beats and perfect blending of solid detroit techno embellished with infectious tracky chicago claps, >superman< is a real show-stopper.
alternatively >range< is a deeper ride through more acidic territories as hood demonstrates why he is still the minimal master. aimed directly at the dancefloor, this is sure to receive as much attention on the decks.
with m-plant firmly back where it belongs, the latter part of 2009 will see the re-release of two classic m-plant singles >the pace< and >stereotype<. not to be missed.

SOMEBODY GONNA GET PREGNANT
12 Inch
22.09.09
white label 12 inch on the hipster club tip. called a career making record by switch ? >somebody get pregnant< is a nasty, throbbing cut aimed straight for the club. it s a tune that s been floating around since 2008, and has everyone from mad decent (who tried to sign it) to three six mafia (who tried to buy the hook) clamouring for a piece. major lazer also featured the tune on their new essential mix for bbc radio 1. acapella and instrumental included as well. on the b-side, ninjasonik gives up a couple of cuts that won t be seeing proper release due to some sampling issues : >shoot the lazer<, a raunchy club tune that jacks the opening to a certain animated movie classic, and >daylight<, a bootie remix of the matt and kim song by the same name. rounding out the 12 inch is >stir<, a minimal dancefloor tune with stuttering, drunken style vocal takes. sweet!
nice price deal !!! the techhouse tune peeboy is a smashing & fresh club tune and as sure a floor filler for the more underground oriented djs as get back down will be for a wider audience: its almost symphonic part, in combination with the wee vocal sample, make great hook and a big big tune!!

city wasteland comes as a full cd as well as a split in two 12inches including some tracks that are vinyl-exclusives. sebastian lohse a.k.a. break sl from dresden is still quite young, but you can feel that he already defined his own universe of sounds and proper production skills. the second 12inch (city wasteland pt.2) now starts with the track move! which doesnt carry it s name for nothing - this is true-school techno! next, dirtbomb shows some nice edges and has a kinda dark feeling. hovering samples and a raw, dirty feel on the drums gives the whole track a very subtle blues. on the flip break sl enters deepest territory of detroit-influenced techno with weird dancer. the last track here tff is a vinyl-exclusive which delivers intense and acid-like drum layers ... chicago galore! thanks for purchasing a real copy!

21.09.09
pt 1 of the vinyl version of this great label retrospective... so much good music on here! we at rh are long time fans of daniel wang and thought it was time to shine some light on his balihu catalog. on this compilation you will find all his early hits, unreleased material as well as more recent released deep, electronic disco by daniel and co (brennan green, ilya santana & massimiliano pagliara a.o.) a tasty compilation disco and electronic heads alike. a very tasty release for the disco and house fans alike. includes all the rare and more dancefloor orientated tracks.
in perfect timing for the 10th bpitch control birthday, thomas muller presents his third solo release. born in paris, the berlin-elect has been in the city for about 2 years. certainly his current location has left an indelible mark on thomas creations - his deep and highly detailed soundscapes were already evident in the last release, >seduction< - a clear idiom into an increasingly dark realm. his current work continues consitently and ambitiously in the same vein.

PANIC, STOP. REPEAT!
12 Inch
21.09.09
seth troxlers panic, stop. repeat! ep brings together all facets of the young berlin-via-detroit producers notoriously brilliant/bizarre persona, offering two new tracks (and one house-y remix) of sweaty, ecstatic dance music with a dirty mind and a heart of gold. >panic, stop. repeat!< uses its titular command as a guiding principle, eroding its own immaculate facade through a series of anxious freakouts. the track rolls along like a freight train with aloose screw-designed for precision and speed, but with mechanical parts that constantly jiggle free and whiz off into the stratosphere. as a leathery kick drum and a wickedly simple two-note bassline keep the pace, >panic, stop. repeat!< takes a series of surreal detours involving an ekg machine, a ladys feverish coos, and one particularly old-school sci-fi synth. next up, troxler melds minds with matthew dear on the collaborative >hurt<, a sexy beast of a track featuring bone-dry drum machines, a huge lead tom-tom, and dears terrifyingly deep spoken-word musings. paco osunas remix of >panic, stop. repeat!< rounds out the ep with an exhilarating take on troxlers original, building a subversive house creeper around panics heavy-breathing leading lady.
CANA MORAL
12 Inch
21.09.09
our favorite frankfurters miguel and arno are back with more frolicking, funky and fired up house. the boys have kept busy since their last release on kindisch, out with a bang, (which for a period was heard every weekend in clubs across europe) remixing for labels such as arearemote, below and murmur. oh, and we almost forgot to mention nurturing their label la peña, whose success can be contributed to their no nonsense attitude to releasing only merit worthy house. welcome back kindischs native sons, as they take you an inebriated four-track voyage of the utmost magnitude of rump-jiggling beats. >caña moral< contains all the things that we have grown to love einzelkind for: warm and crunchy beats and a perfected groove all following the chants of tribal vocals. this one might be a tad more pristine than what they have been known to release on their own label, but it does give proof of their ability to construct tightly woven modern beats
SHIPYARD
12 Inch
21.09.09
supported by: richi hawtin, hot chip, john digweed, nik fanciull, tono rios, okain... their new ep >shipyard< is piemont at their best... we would not have it another way... magnetic beat-bassline monsters, funky and rigid at the same time. you might call it germanic and it reminds us of dadaism in the 20ies ingermany with it s theme: non-sense makes more sense? the a-side track >shipyard< has all of this, a fusion of old school with blowing horns and massive hi-tech technology. well we know the release is about hamburg harbour...but what the f..ck does it matter. the b1-track >cargo< is as heavy and bulky as you can imagine a track to be with this name... but if you know piemont, you know they make even heavy tracks funky. the b2-track >dockyard< isthe deepest track on the 12 inch and shows that piemont will continue their liking for deeper music which they revealed for the fist time on their recent album >strange world beyond< on mbf.

one year after their >serenity< 12 inch including a soundstream remix, it is high time for some new material by cologne-berlin based duo prosumer & murat tepeli. >u & i< is the result of an extensive jam at prosumers studio. this is a trend resistent deephouse song it brimming with their unmistakable signature sound. it has sounds of dancing horses, an adorable old school and a bassline lary heard would be proud of. once again, prosumer shares vocal duties with elif biçer both telling touching stories about night clubbing and human relations. >the jam< on the flip side is - quite apparently - exactly that - a jam. it is based on the recordings for >u & i<, but also caterss for a more upbeat dancefloor. it is the more techno oriented, instrumental side of the same coin and prosumer & murat tepelis most energetic effort to date
