we are proud to announce the kick-off of a new dynamic reflections subseries: dynamic reflection ltd. a series that is set to explore a broad spectrum of electronic music, and aims to cross the barrier between the club floors and home listening. and to start in a proper fashion, we launch the ltd-series with a very special vinyl + full digital album package by jonas korbl.
label-resident stefan vincent drops his first vinyl for dynamic reflection. and what an ep elephants foot is three mesmerizing originals and an outstanding linzatti remix on top. stefans shedding his upcoming status more and more and turning himself into an artist to watch. this ep is another solid step in that direction.
marking its ten-year anniversary dynamic reflection is set to release continuum, a collection of five uniquely intertwined ep’s. the special series commemorates the label’s roots, evolution and establishment and honors its residents and friends. continuum will feature twenty exclusive tracks from artists ranging from oscar mulero, steffi, deepbass, jeroen search and shifted to delta funktionen, abstract division, donato dozzy, mike parker and blawan. limited box set with 5 coloured vinyls.
the italian dj and producer viels is the perfect example of a promising artist who has earned his stripes in the scene. his first contribution to dynamic reflection was a single track on a va two years ago, then a solo ep on the nursery last year and now it s time for his first well-earned vinyl called distrophism. although his sound has matured over the years, he has never compromised as far as his straight forward sound goes. circular, the a1, is the best possible example of that. the continuous drive keeps it going for well over seven minutes, without ever becoming superficial or dull. the b-side extends to other sides of his musical spectrum by making use of more drone-like, hypnotic elements. beside these three convincing originals, spanish heavyweight svreca jumps in for a remix of circular, completing the variance of styles. needless to say, this new release, proves that viels as an artist and this ep in particular, are forces to be reckoned with.
the 38th instalment of the dynamic reflection vinyl series rest in the hands of the upcoming portuguese duo moddullar. their carefully crafted neurotransmitter ep serves as the excellent translation of the duos founding principle, to take their audience on an exciting journey towards perfection.
with its developed sound, the neurotransmitter ep presents its listeners with four powerful tracks, skilfully balancing between past and present. the ep is stylishly kicked-off by its title track neurotransmitter, offering driving percussion and hallowing synths that surely will get any dance floor up and going. an endeavour that is further complimented in the form of a mind boggling remix by one of the genre’s most influential producers, mike parker.
on the flipside the story continues with micro macro cosmos, a true mind trip, perfectly fit for the afterhours. after which the journey is ultimately concluded in fashion with abstract structure, a classic percussion driven techno stomper.
with the neurotransmitter ep, moddullar have delivered nothing short of a perfect debut, serving a prime cut of high quality techno that is sure to excite djs and their dancers alike.
the release of the elements ep marks the return of antonio de angelis to dynamic reflection. after the initial success of his hyper ep on the nursery series, the london based producer is back to deliver his first full 12” for the mother label. displaying great versatility, de angelis demonstrates his unique talent to catch different sounds and vibes within a clearly coherent style. giving his own unique twist to everything from powerful dance floor killers to deep mind trippers and all that is in between, antonio de angelis delivers a timeless ep that is as versatile as the elements it is named after.
yan cook makes a stong impression with his debute ep on dynamic reflection. melter ep includes three mesmerizing originals and an outstanding philippe petit remix on top. yan cook shedding his upcoming status more and more and turning himself into an artist which is here to stay. this ep has already did some serious damage on the floors, as expected. >> repress
after spending a year on the road, experimenting with new sounds and production methods, abstract division returns to their home imprint with the release of the activated ep. fashioned true to their well known unique balanced style, this three track ep presents its listener with a powerful blend of deep tools and peak-time grooves. a real must-have for every selector, these tracks will cary any dance-floor deep in to the night, and far beyond.
the clarity ep signifies the return of dutch techno heavyweight jeroen search to dynamic reflection. the result is a powerful four track ep, that clearly demonstrates jeroen’s unique and personal approach to contemporary techno, skilfully build grooves fused together with funky stabs, form a unique, recognisable and inimitable “search-blend”. proving once more jeroen search is an undisputed master of true machine funk.
dref033 sees the return of two long time label friends and contributors, the scottish deepbass and the italian ness. despite the fact that both of them are prolific enough solo acts as it is, once in a while they combine forces and deliver a co-produced masterpiece, to which the outer limits ep is no exception.
for the second and last ep of contemporary spaces remixes, dynamic reflection welcomes yet another batch of talented producers to the label. just like the first remix ep, it is a mix between household names, and up and comers. first off, it’s perc’s interpretation of glide. the uk based artist, who is known for his use of distortion and aggressiveness, takes it down a notch on this occasion. he has made glide into a echoing and glitchy track that doesn t reach its energy peak until the last couple of minutes. matrixxman takes overwith his biohazard mix of future existence, which contains a tensive synth, confined by a filter that gradually opens, and than closes again, retaining your attention at all times. on the bside, shdw and obscure shape reshaped the hunt to provide the first outright dance floor track of the ep. with its thumping kick and epic pads around the breaks, it’s bound to win crowds over in the club. dutch talent ben buitendijk also remixed future existence, in his own distinctive, hypnotic style. a deep, though energetic track with a very mature sound.
a couple of months after the release of contemporary spaces, four of abstract division s tracks get remixed. and who better suited for the job than label residents stefan vincent and deepbass & ness, and dynamic reflection debutants tensal and lewis fautzi.
an identity matrix can be described as a special linear matrix in which all the right variables align to create a unique state of balance. an efficient, yet elegant equation, serving as a stable truth, on which new ideas can be founded a perfect analogy to the signature sound and philosophy that have made jeroen search one of the most sought after underground techno producers of this day. with four powerful tracks, all drenched in the signature analog search-sound, the identity matrix ep delivers yet another timeless contribution to the dynamic reflection catalog. with the a-side featuring two driving dancefloor-oriented cuts, and the b-side exploring the more futuristic sounds of tomorrow, the identity matrix ep skillfully balances itself between tradition and innovation.
looking back on a wide array of releases, it is safe to say that 2015 has been a great year for dynamic reflection. so it was only natural to set the aim even higher for 2016, beginning with the long awaited return of abstract division to their native imprint, by the release of their first ever double ep: contemporary spaces. it is released as a limited double 12inch, pressed on lush white vinyl. a special piece of artwork with download codes giving access to the digital formats is included as a special bonus to early adopters.
AS WE WAIT FOR THE MACHINES TO CATCH UP WITH US EP
12" Vinyl NL18.12.15
tired of just rumbling low ends and mindless battering, stefan vincent points us in a more melodic direction. a rather melancholic and dystopian one, showing off his understanding of harmonics and tone sections. these compositions in minor and major hint towards equally feeling, futuristic atmospheres in which human kind is more and more affected by its unsatisfiable hunger for technology and perfection. guided by the terrifying beauty of this vision, stefan takes us on a four track tour through this world. a world in which we will have become merely observers of ourselves and we can only be let down. we can only watch as we rise towards being doubtful sentients. we can only listen as we wait for the machines to catch up with us.
the mysterious troy returns on dr with his second ep ever released. it seems like the perfect time for troys northbound ep, 4 very distinctive, cold, yet beautifully designed pieces, which perfectly underline the atmosphere this time of year.
on the a side, detail and evolution are the foundation of the lengthy *bh3*, which also futures a hard hitting remix by takaaki itoh from japan.
the b side features two more melodic cuts. *archer* stresses the journey into the cold, with its synth work nearing dissonance, while remaining in complex and admirable harmony. the title track *northbound* is a more straight forward loop, which builds up to something rather chilly and unheard before.
METROPOLIS EP (M. FENGLER / FUNCTION / TROLLEY ROUTE RMXS)
12" Vinyl NL02.07.15
motor city. the home of hi-tek soul. or simply, the origin. just a few of the names with which to descibe a city in the heart of america that has the power to captivate ones imagination. in the early 20th century it revolutionized transport, ushered in an age of previously unknown mobility and became the automotive capital of the world. during the 60s it gave us motown, one of the most influential r&b and soul record labels to ever exist. and, before the turn of the millennium, it would bring forth another musical revolution: the one called techno music. to abstract division, the city of detroit and its artists are a major source of inspiration. as such, they decided their newest metropolis ep was to be an hommage, a means of giving back. this special package includes an original track that keeps close to the spirit of melodic, rhythmic, minimalism detroit is known for. it also features three very special remixes by close friends oscar mulero - under his trolley route alias (which he hasnt released music under since 2010) - function, who ups the darker ante and marcel fengler who infuses it with his trademark berlin funk.
