ts10 is the 1st ep of the toneseries project. born from the collaboration between french music producer, live performer and dj - david k, and lumièreslanuit s co-founder and an der grenze s founder - edouard morin. however, it isn t clear which artist from their extended crew stands behind this 1st release, as if the berlin-based music label wanted to focus on the music rather on the artist. ts10 consists of two tracks, both deep and groovy. whereas ailleurs disseminates the perfect warm-up groove, desert snowflakes fires off a more dancefloor-driven vibe. with regard to the artwork, as shown on the cover, each track has its own colour. there is neither a a nor a b-side. the same applies to the record vinyl itself. each track stands on it own. as a result, ailleurs and desert snowflakes distinguish themselves from each other through their vibes and colours, although they remain in the same spirit. in summary, toneseries brings together the idea of interdependence between music and design: what colour follows on from music and, in return, which musicality comes out of colours.

for their tenth release, voodoo down has again chosen to debut a new act to add to their label roster. andy harper and nic ford have been making music together for over a decade but began releasing in earnest under the name maddermodes in 2014 on their own label, shift coordinate points. they have since put out records on the labels millions of moments and night drive music. their handful of releases have already drawn support from top names like move d and nick höppner, and its clear that the duos sound is only getting more refined with each successive record. the ep entitled emprical evidence is a wholly cinematic piece of work, spread across four tracks that unravel slowly, unified by a theme of pumping syncopated rhythms under sprawling pad and string progressions. its easy to get lost in the thick arrangements, and the inventive use of samples and melodic elements invite repeat listening. equally suitable for early morning hours, ultra-deep techno sets, or quiet home listening sessions.

london modular alliance is the raw and unpredictable music project from the uk’s best known, dedicated modular synth shop london modular. its members simon lynch, phil ventre and gavin pykerman met through a shared passion in modular synthesisers. impromptu gatherings and jams soon turned into live performances at clubs, festivals and museums. from the hushed environs of the tate modern and v&a to vast sweatboxs such as fabric, bloc, freerotation, weather and berghain, london modular clearly have a flair for all things modular. this year sees a return to bloc weekender as well as new adventures at festivals such as dekmantel. they create an intense live show with a huge setup of self-assembled modular gear. every set starts with one small looping beginning – a patch – and is expanded into a deep sonic landscape. with the use of cables they build unexpected circuits and explore the power of pure electronic sounds without the use of a digital software infrastructure. no laptops, no button pushing, everything is created on the spot using modular synthesizers and is based on live improvisations. overall lma tries to keep its live sets in the dark: unrecorded, off the internet and only for those who are present in the moment. a clear break with the capture-all mentality of the internet age.

paris-based beat x changers brings up to you a new record with a collaborative project in the shape of classic cuts.our new release introduces two new french artists brought together on a split ep: tell from paris and name from the sunny avignon city, both of them backed- up by exclusive remixes from three of our historical beat x producers: neue grafik and pulkone (aka x_1 & monomite). on the a-side, discover tell - a 20-year old jazz drummer - who releases two soulful and melodic tracks. you’ll recognize the heat of the mpc grain, obsessing samples and uplifting breaks. on the b-side, southern producer name offers a disco-like and funky house music via two dancing tracks with a clear reference to the clubbing universe of new york and chicago. this activist dj and experimented producer – he is an ableton teacher on the side – gained recognition in the south of france music scene in the last decade and reached the ears of producer kink.grand Écart (i.e. wide gap or split) recalls the time it took to release this ep. it’s also a geographical gap, a gap between the ideas of the five artists brought together on this release, a gap between our expectations and the reality of some passed – or cancelled – venues in paris. we have always believed in this project and in our flexibility!

in 2006, tim arndt released the first near the parenthesis album “go out and see”. arndt had intended to follow up that release with a more beatless ambient album, where percussion was left to the side and composition took center stage. a shelved idea that we now get the benefit of a full ten years later. this new album helical is the realization of arndt s stripped down ambient concept. helical features arndt’s characteristic experimental modem classical instrumentation and compositional style, but slows things down and stretches them out. the focus on the organic is clear, but moments of ethereal breath weave in and out and prevent the album from becoming too self aware. helical, as a loose reference to the geometric structure of our very dna and it contains themes that are driven by a recent discovery of arndt’s past and ancestry. the release seamlessly stitches all of these concepts together and marks an unique release and new direction for arndt’s near the parenthesis.

wah wah 45s return to the 12- format to bring you three incredible re-works from french disco don the reflex, for our very own legendary canadian/haitian keyboard wiz henri-pierre noel. funky spider dance is a percussion heavy bomb filled to the brim with henri s soaring piano licks and infectious female vocal hooks. the reflex has taken what was already a sure-fire club favourite, and created something of a dance floor destroyer. his rework of a fifth of beethoven takes its time to build into another heavy hitter. as the beats make way for henri s deft keyboard flourishes, the recognition of this cover of the walter murphy classic (taken from the saturday night fever soundtrack) begins to dawn - and as it does, it s clear that once again the dream team of hpn and the reflex have worked their magic! last, but certainly not least, the reflex s revision of back home..., sweet home is a modern island funk masterpiece with organ and tropical guitar riffs making way for sunny brass stabs all underpinned by foot friendly beats. the original versions of funky spider dance and back home..., sweet home can be found on henri s one more step lp, and his take of a fifth of beethoven was recently available on 7-inches of wax - all on wah wah 45s of course. the reflex revisions all appear here together on vinyl, in fact anywhere, for the very first time!

with two releases already under his belt on clone, gary gritness aka slikk tim lands on hypercolour with the sugar cane chronicles vol. 1. gritness may be a relatively new name on the block, but his session work for artists like kenny bobien, louie vega and grant nelson has marked up this multi-instrumentalist as a clear talent. hailing from france, gritness had been spotted by underground resitances mad mike banks as one to watch, and on his hypercolour release, displays a deft hand of producing futuristic funk sounds. a spot on blend of raw drum programming and blissfull jazz funk riffs, preachin some tight game sets the eps tone just right with its infectious melodies and cruising groove. darker 1980s soundtrack vibes are explored on stayin strong hand with its thick analogue atmosphere, whilst the laid back and freestyle vibes of working girls demands to be played in the cadillac with the top down! ep closer, fly shit, continues with the tranquil melodies and g-funk factor.

bad taste recordings hit 2016 in severe kinetic style with a fresh pair of tracks launching the identity of malux, the new neurofunk-focussed moniker of established bass producer skope (inspected). with turbine and fonk the agenda is clear – energetic, funk-fuelled dnb driven by detailed low-frequency design and a boisterous rave vibe.

brilliant tv and movie themes by francois de roubaix!!! on 20 november 1975 francois de roubaix disappeared while diving. before going towards this tragic death, francois had received an order for a television series theme tune commissaire moulin. as usual, the composed melody has been indelibly printed in the collective memory. francois de roubaix always put his fingers where it should be! between electronic tricks and acoustic works, this record brings the themes of this television series together with other musics composed for never released or still unknown projects... all unpublished music, never pressed on vinyl! it soon becomes clear that francois de roubaix feels confortable with this kind of exercises. the result is every time sublime. recommended!!

goldmin music label founder romain lanteaume alias einka meets detroit minimalism master terrence dixon aka population one for a truly conceptual techno 12-.. terrence dixon is one of our favorite artists and biggest inspiration.. detroitborn artist released his first 12- back in 1994 followed by several quintessential records and 2 epic albums -from the far future- on legendary berlin-based label tresor. terrence is not only a great techno producer who makes subwoofers roar in clubs, he is a man obsessed by a concept, an idea that he s following from the very beginning.. -minimalism- in the reaaaaal sense of the word.. for example, when thousands producers are wondering what s eventually missing in their new track, terrence is rather wondering what s useless, what could be removed and that s definitely what he gets to share on his own -reduction- imprint. after the release of terrence s track -steve austin s mile- on goldmin theme lp, romain got to meet him in detroit during summer 2014. the aim was to make an abstract record that could still be linked to a feeling or a situation.. a1 the edge track is probably a good example as it s designed and built to make you feel like you get closer and closer to the edge while the track is slowly growing until you fall.. can you feel it? :) as for the other tracks, there is also a special idea behind them but we better let you interpret it your way

two tracks found their way on the b side and their flavour is quite different. escape is a pure deep house gem, and a clear indication of arapus soulful influence. extremely danceable and super uplifting, this track brings the summer back. wasting on the other hand is dark and has a dirty broken tech groove. this track may seem toolish but it s a monster when it hits.
